I missed the start and couldn’t work out if they were brother and sister or married. Very strange dynamic all round.

I was very confident in 1990 that mountain bike suspension wouldn’t catch on.

Well I left the wrench at home and they didn’t have an issue with the 1.5mm Allen key.
They did try and take my 4 tins of dog food but I pointed out they aren’t liquid.

I test rode a bike with AXS GX. I really didn’t like it and would have striped and sold the bits for Shimano mechanical. The price of the rear mech alone would make me say nope.

Be very careful of the red mist. I was lucky to not be really hurt. A month later I have a quite prominent scar on the site of my head and my left hand still isn’t quite right.

I have Veho Cave alarm, which links to my phone.

I think I can safely say that ‘not 2’ is an appropriate answer

we worked out that the kiddie monitor worked as long as you got the front window seat in the pub opposite.

It’s almost a shame that Liz Truss lost her seat as she’d make the perfect Leader of the Opposition.

I got a 19 plate Rifter last week. 1.5l 130 Diesel. Two days later we drove it 1400km to Bilbao in one day. Love it but then I’m more of a van man than car person.

    Car ferry to Bilbao security

“Do you have any knifes in the car”

    ”No”

”Ah wait , I do have a machete in the back for gardening.”

He sighed, though of the paperwork, and waved me pass.

And another housebreaking bike theft this morning in Bristol – taken from the Nextdoor webforum – “At 2.30 this morning some men threw a breeze block through the bi fold doors in the kitchen at the back of the house . They came into the house and stole a grey and white electric mountain bike.” Knowing the road where the theft happened I would suggest that the owner was probably followed home from the trails.

Literally just around the corner from me.

My wife is Spanish and has been looking on the Spanish car forums. It’s full of similar stories regarding the AdBlue.

We are looking at petrol engines now, which given our milage probably makes more sense.

The ones I’ve seen are ex-mobility ones (no ramp). Serviced by main dealer who love to replace everything without much regard to what the problem was.

I’m with Aviva Plus and nearly changed last month at renewal. As with you the renewal cost has gone up, but then so have everyone.

Glad I didn’t considering last weekend..

Builders arrived today with emergency call out being 4 days seemingly. Unfortunately these organisations have a 1000 people with a laptop but only 1 with a hammer. They took down all the loose blockwork and covered up the hole with ply (very tidy job). Surveyor is coming to look on Thursday for what’s next. There are some major cracks on the flanking walls so it may be a knock down and start again job.

Head is fine, left hand is sore and won’t close and I have a selection of impressive bruises to my side. Mentally I’m OKish. Making an effort to move on and hopefully I’ll be able to start running later in the week which will help.

For all the wannabe John Wicks, there were three of them and one was in a car. I was lucky.

Won’t a lot of previous Tory voters suddenly vote Tory again if they think they are heading for that level of wipe out. I can’t quite believe a 300+ seat loss (but happy to see one).

It’s Redland and I have a dog. She was fast asleep and really not interested. If they had dressed as postmen she’d have gone for them.
Feeling a bit twitchy tailed today and not sleeping great. Builders ‘should’ be here later / tomorrow to board up back of garage.

I’m not intending to move and am quite ‘ok’ with things. It wasn’t a random fight in a pub / mugging in the street. It was targeted and now their cost / benefit will kick in. They now know the police are taking serious interest in them and that my bike are locked to the wall (and aren’t that expensive).

Thanks for all the kind words.

    Over the last three years;

The first attempt they broke a window, set off the alarm and buggered off over the fence.

The second attempt they unbolted a roof panel. Only to find out I have ply lined the ceiling.

The third attempt they took an angle grinder to the hinges to the rear door. They had cut through just one before waking a neighbour and were told to do one.

I had assumed that by making as much noise as possible they would just run off. I think as they had invested soo much in this attempt they held their ground. I didn’t try and hit anyone of them, I just kept advancing while screaming **** off, police, help etc. I’ve got four stitches to the head, a left hand I can’t close and some impressive bruises to the body.

I could have just as easy lost an eye or got run over. If I’d had a bat and damaged one of them, what would the other two have done? Would I be the one the police would want to talk to if one of them is in a coma? Reasonable force only isn’t it?

Police have an idea of who it could be -based on it was three on them and their general space / height – and have been supportive.

Anyway  time to get on with life and wait for Aviva to sort their shit out.

    Bristol. BS6.

After this thinking of making it easier to break in and just have better insurance.

They didn’t get the bikes. Each one is chained to the wall on separate chains, so not just grab-able.

My bikes aren’t even worth that much.

They stole an old Corsa just for this job and reversed it into the door (2 attempts).

I think Cameron as caretaker PM

I don’t think he’s allowed in the House of Commons, so couldn’t do PMQT.

I was chatting to my Dad this morning. He was in the TA in the 1950’s and got sent to Aden (now Yeman) but only because he needed the money. The full time army lot lived in fear of any of the TA getting hurt due to the paperwork and the headlines back home. Funny how little things change.

Are those shoes tied differently in each photo? The first one looks like they are tied the way they come out of the box?

I don’t believe he saw those shoes until 2 minutes before the interview..

Great win for Athletic last night, especially after losing 5 finals.

They’re going to need a bigger barge!

I had a Jeffsy. Great bike and really fast. The bearings were glued in place by the factory and changing them was a right pain. I now have a 5010.

We take our dog to Spain every year. The vets there are a fraction of the price here, have nicer offices and seem better equipped. Checkup and tapeworm treatment is 20 euro (local UK vet would be over £80)

I have no problems with scooters, I just don’t want one. I love that Matchless (which is much more my taste in bikes).

I also have a ‘you dropped it, you pick it up’ rule. So no R1100GS.

My Dad found an abandoned BSA (A10?) in a shed up on the bog in Donegal. He finally gave it to a friend to rebuild but it disappeared after that. I’d love something like that. Problem is the cost..

Last week there was a R65LS on Car and Classics for £2500 which I just missed, so they are around. The commute is Bristol to Portishead, so if I pay for the Bridge it’s 3km of city riding then A road. The other way is a small section of motorway.

I was a motorbike courier for 2 years on a MZ251, so I am more than used to agricultural. I also have a garage and am happy to tinker.
