Last week – local trails dry, solid and bordering on dusty
Yesterday – started out dry, at the top of my usual climb i was inside a cloud
Today – no chance of turning a wheel

    Oh well, it’s all weather

This just screams “moron” to me

Titanic, I think the most romantic part for me was when all the kids died.

Had the same bike since 2004, a Kona.

So far I have replace the rear wheel, replaced the bars and grips and replaced the tyres. One set of brake pads have also been replaced.

There does seem to be a “pay more, expect to replace more” thing going on with mountain bikes over the last few years. There also seems to be many a thread on here detailing how an extremely expensive part has failed/worn out prematurely/never worked from day one. Seems someone is getting very rich from cyclists

    2 possible answers:

    1. I will be antagonistic just like a big hitter until the thread is closed

    2. I for one agree with everything the mods do and welcome our new mod overlords *slurp* “ooh, has moddy mod been working out? please don’t hurt me”

It’s generally a good forum, but some people could do with getting out in the sunshine a bit more rather than spending all their free time arguing the toss and ruining what could be interesting threads because they’re gutted they’ve not been asked to be a mod themselves

We’re 15 miles from a refinery, £1.39.9 a litre of unleaded…….petrol station near my work, 15 miles further away from the refinery, £1.36.9 a litre……..go figure

I saw an old bloke the other day fill up his car and 3 jerry cans, the only shortage is going to be caused by these morons

Luckily if push comes to shove I can work from home, but some of these idiots are just going to make it worse for the people who really need to go to work (doctors, nurses, firefighters, police etc)

Hang on, are you just being told a load of Sky flannel.

I called them tonight to add Anytime+ and the guy on the phone told me i needed to sign up onlibe then i would be told sometime in the distant future about software updates because my box wasn’t up to date enough…….i asked him that my box must travel through time because it was able to use Anytime+,when i had Sky bb. After being put on hold for a minute he came back and sheepishly told me it was now available.

Having worked for Sky, they will tell you any old crap

less of a magazine and more a sort of arthouse book

But some of us want to just buy a magazine, not a lifestyle choice. I downloaded the free samples of The Ride Journal and the photography is amazing, the writing excellent and the layout is fantastic. Is it worth what they charge for it? no, not in a month of sundays, in the same way that as much as I have in the past enjoyed Wax Poetics[/url] I wont be buying it again at the price they charge. Maybe I’m getting old but I refuse to fund someones art project, just give me a magazine

Why watch the pap on tv, when you can watch stuff like mad men, breaking bad and the walking dead

Funny, I just watched the Walking Dead season finale on, now what’s that big black slab called? oh yeah, a TV. I don’t think it counts as “not watching TV” by watching TV on a computer

    ok, slight edit i think

If column B shows the same number 4 times, drop/delete the first 3 rows so I’d only be left with cell A4 and B4

so the first 3 lines may show different places and the same number, if the number appears 3 times it only leaves the fourth line and deletes the other 3

Having purchased the new issue i am suitably impressed. Will i continue to buy it after the price hike? Not sure but then im a casual buyer rather than a subscriber.

Can’t really moan about the price, i have been known to blindly purchase Wax Poetics and that clocks in at about a tenner – just seems to be the way magazines are going

this thread has cheered me up, my only bike, a 2003 Kona Cinder Cone got some TLC today, was starting to think I was the only person with a bike older than 5 years:

a pal at work is having a little problem with these fly-by-night so called parking companies. He has a parking permit (Edinburgh) for a private car park at his flat.

He has pulled about 30 tickets from his windscreen even though he’s parked legally with his permit on full display. At one point they were locking his car in the car park so he couldn’t drive it out……..i’m sure there are some legalities illegally impounding his car in his own space.

Any time he has called the company they give him the runaround and the council (who employ the *expletive deleted*) are taking no interest.

He’s moving out at the weekend anyway, but the idea was to buy something particularly large and dump it in the space with all the tickets stapled to it.

taken from the Invisible Children rebuttle linked above regarding the photo of them holding an RPG and an AK47

Bobby, Laren and I are friends and had been doing this for 5 years, we thought it would be funny to bring back to our friends and family a joke photo. You know, “Haha – they have bazookas in their hands but they’re actually fighting for peace.”

hmmm, having read more about this I can’t take them seriously anymore, the quote above say’s it all, the only reason people suddenly care about it more than any other is because it’s trendy (and trending)

Upside – 26 million views and counting, if it get’s this kony guy known around the world as a murderer and general scumbag, then it’s all good. If it mobilises people to badger their governments to drag the prick to The Hague to pay for what he’s done, all the better. If it changes one mind from being a lazy sod who cares more about new maps in COD MW than what happens to people in the real world then it has succeeded.

Downside – From the released financial records of this lot, they don’t appear to be sending enough money anywhere constructive to do any real good. I’m sure the founders of this are doing a lot of good work, but they’re also being paid 90K a year to do what they’re doing, maybe just me but that seems a lot really. They seem to be spending a hell of a lot of money on natty bracelets and posters to give them an excuse at playing “Banksy” for a bit…….all just seems a bit Hipster/skinny jean/that 99% thing looks a right larf

Also, this got 38 million plus views so you can’t always rely on people being intelligent
