Here’s a suggestion, let’s for once focus on the victims and not on whether guns should be banned or fought for till your dying breath.

Everytime someone goes off the rails and thinks the way to deal with their feelings is to go off on a killing spree it comes back to the same thing and the victims get forgotten about in favour of the shit biscuit crazy prat who wasn’t cuddled enough.

While you lot are trying to turn a simple thread into a soapbox I dare you to try and list 10 victims of shooting sprees int he last ten years without the use of Google.

I used to shoot, I used to own my own guns, after Dunblane I had to hand them in during the amnesty. I was not an unhinged fantasist, I took part in a sport. I can see why guns should be banned completely, but I also believe in the rights of people not being quashed because of 0.0001% of the population.

Perhaps a separate forum should be set up for arguing because this is going to get tedious

it’s trending on twitter (jesus, did I just say that) A woman who was killed blogged in June about how when she lived in Canada she was caught in the middle of a shooting in a food court but changing her mind what food she wanted saved her life.

Her last tweet was to a friend saying “film starts in 20”

I know its all social media and that and blah blah blah, but that put a human face on something that is so easy to forget that innocent people were killed when it’s overshadowed by an argument about gun ownership.

I don’t know what I’m trying to say, things like this just shouldn’t happen

Saw him last time he played Glasgow. Because of traffic we were 15 minutes late, didn’t matter, he played for about 3 hours. The Big Man was awesome and so glad we saw him.

Best part of the show? Bruce was singing with the crowd (don’t remember the song) and he put the mike in front of a little girl, no more than 7 years old, dragged along by her dad……she sang every word without being prompted and got the biggest cheer of the night

…….and he’s not Mr Springsteen, he’s THE BOSS!!!

My own Mother and MiL do my tree in always interfering yet SO cannot see Her Mother doing anything wrong yet mine is just a Dragon towards her, so she says………why do we bother

The only thing I’ve used Twitter successfully for was following last years TT seniors race as I was at work and It allowed me to receive up to the minute timings……other than that it just seems a bit boring

I’ve settled into a Facebook embargo. Too many times have i heard the phrase “oh yeah, i saw that on Facebook” when talking to someone. Peoples inane status updates were getting tedious and constant posting of whatever the deemed funny that day.

I sometimes wonder what we did before all this crap took up our lives

edit: The irony that I’m wasting my time on here rather than Facebook just slapped me in the face

    Landline

I know I shouldn’t let it bother me, but it’s just getting stupid now. The next logical step is to sign up their customer service e-mail addresses to porn websites or better still, try something like this:

I’ve had this issue. As you can’t seem to fix it without being at a computer, follow these steps until you can block the person or delete their post:

    1. Don’t look at Facebook
    2. Repeat step 1

Really can’t get excited by fender guitars.

You could give these a bash……although most bikes have a dedicated site for their owners, would help to know what it is (and pics of course)

As much as I don’t always agree with the content, I find that Singletrack has the format down exactly how I like it, unfussy and easy to navigate

Do you have some sort of security fob/card for work you’ve kept in the same pocket? Something like this happened to a guys iphone at work and it turned out he had it in the same pocket as his security fob. Kinda like holding a magnet against a CRT telly

Magazines are for pretty pictures, the odd article but mainly something to stare at other than the shampoo bottles and wifes fanny pads while you’re having a 15 minute crap to get away from the other half for a bit of peace.

If paying 9 quid makes you feel just that little bit niche and part of some exclusive club then knock yourself out. I stopped buying Singletrack when the price went up, seems to be a lot of nothing in it.

Completely non-news, another “look, look, the tories are shit” thread.

I once drove away from a petrol station thinking my wife had paid, when she thought i had paid, weirdly it never made the Guardian.

I enjoy a Rush album as much as the next guy, but £66 for a ticket to see them in Glasgow? That’s just ridiculous

such a shame all these beautiful high powered supercars are driven by **** who clearly cannot drive for toffee. for example:

I live happy in the knowledge that I can’t afford these cars so have no chance of crashing them anytime soon

there was a trailer for it on telly earlier, and it seemed to give away a fairly big spoiler.

They need to put a lid on this oversaturation and viral marketing. I was excited to see Prometheus and now I can’t be arsed

You lucky lucky man, I wish I was but funds at the time put paid to that.

Good shout with the 6 music link, i’ll have a listen to that when I get home. Copper Blue has been and always will be in my top five albums of all time.

some film that had a woman as the lead like a female Bourne identity, with Ewan Mcgregor playing a bit part, it was only 6 months ago and I can’t remember the title, nor can I be bothered to google it.

    this?

Utter Chuffing Bobbins……I was expecting so much more and something that resembled a film, not an art-house take on a female Bourne

take them to a local jump spot and tell them all to go first, then once they’re lieing in their backs paralyzed and crying tell them you don’t do jumps.

Yes, but i’m positive it’s down to my sleep pattern, don’t seem to get enough uninterrupted sleep, keep dozing off and waking up in a panic about 20 minutes later. A plane goes over the house and when the windows open it makes me jump (usually just after I’ve dozed off)

Mix into that shift work……I am grumpy more often than I’m laid back these days

I found De Niro pretty funny in Star Dust as the ships captain.

Makes me laugh every time I watch that film “we all know you’re a woopsy”
