Unfortunately as i work in the public sector my daughter's tooth fairy contributions are going to be frozen at £1 for the next 10 years – a reduction in real terms, however irresponsible children of private sector parents who have accidentally knocked all of their teeth out through profligate risk can keep their six figure tooth fairy bonuses, but hey c'est la vie!!

ive been following this thread from a distance. I have to say mark i admire your spirit and attitude and in my experience people with your mindset do much better than those who give in to the illness. Good luck over the upcoming months -your courage through this has been amazing. I'm sorry your not getting the answers you urgently need from your specialists- but until they have all the results and histologies etc -they can't give you a full answer regarding prognoses etc
    all the best

And without tempting fate Most miscarriages occur in the first 12-13 weeks so fingers crossed all will be well with this one.

I can understand that tinsy but to be honest in the next few weeks your wife will start to feel the baby move- usu 18-20 weeks

try this- the cardiff count to 10 scores

probably the easiest way for mums to monitor fetal health.

obviously if any bleeeding or severe pain see doc/midwife asap!

Good luck with the pregnancy – hope all goes well.

why are you a midwife? probably best to rely on fetal movements than fetal heart monitors

To be honest as a GP and with your history of your knee swelling up after exercise and giving way i would place my money on a meniscal cartilage tear. remember you will see the orthopods 1st and they may arrange an MRI or may proceed to an arthroscopy. Sounds like you probably need an MRI to me to find out whats causing the prob

No problem do it, we did loads from three months. worth giving them a feed during take off and landing as helps em sleep. Buy your calpol in boots once youve gone through security or they will think you are trying to blow up the plane with a pink syrup and take it off you!. ( same applies to bottles of milk but they normally let you take them through if you taste them at security!)

take your own car seat – they usually let you check them in and the rental ones are generally rubbish

as a load lugger the mazda 6 estate is worth a look. I have the old generation one- it swallows a bike under the load cover with wheels off and imagine they can be got fairly cheaply in these uncertain economic times!

Nowt wrong with the ford though.

    ok penybryn way up

turn left past old converted chapel and follw fireroad past troedyrhiw farm

this takes you directly to the top of margam mountain

or you can go up the fireroad at craigyaber… after a few hundred yards cross bridge on left and follow track aup left side of valley- more interesting imo head up towards top cross road and you can also follow fireroad to top of margam mount.

just explore from here you can easily drop back down to margam park.

well i live in porthcawl also and am more than happy to show you round sometime- unfit due to 2 months off bike after crash!

there is no riding whatsoever in porthcawl, the best ways up to margam mountain are via penybryn and craigyraber woods
