have i missed something or aren't we still in recession- whereas over european states are showing growth. There is also a shortage of second hand cars because people arent changing their cars and manufacturing has been cut-hence less second hand nearly new cars.

second hand car values have gone up because there are fewer about- supply and demand

Strong represenation from wales in that list!

Looks like a roll of loo paper that report to me. "these shops are the best because they have sent the most staff on a cytech course" Utter nonsense. So if you have a huge turnover of staff because mechanics are either crap or constantly leave then you have to train MORE staff. Doesnt make you a good LBS! far from it!

What man city need is david bentley – please someone take him off our hands – thanks Juande.

As for the decision re hughes- ridiculous. 6th in the table game in hand- europe a possibility.

As a spurs fan i empathise with the constant chopping and changing worries. hughes' sacking reminds me of jol's. Football decisions made by idiots.

Compare with man utd. 2 years into his reign the fans were baying for sir alex's head. I imagine those same fans can now see the benefits of continuity and backing your manager. And remember man u were very much also rans in the 70's and 80's

3000mg of gabaP is a mighty dose

Might be worth going back to the GP and discussing, pregabalin, carbamazepine, amitryptiline etc for your neuralgia

    what drug was that kcr?

    Ok
It sounds that you have pretty significant nerve compression symptoms.

However having injections is a reasonable first course of actions as your symptoms may well resolve with these

as a medic i wouldnt let anyone touch my neck unless they really needed to. Risks of paralysis/quadraplegia etc. take the injections first my friend and if this fails then go back and ask about surgical options.

So TJ so it seems that it's ok to dump old people in old inadequate homes as long as it frees up an acute hospital bed. Great that! I know that's not your opinion but if that's the system great.

I know of good homes and bad homes. the bottom line is they should pass the "would you put your mum there?"test. I have recently whistle blown regarding a truly shocking care home.2 Patients have died who can't protect themselves throiugh neglect. the response of care standards/ local health board/ and the local social services were woeful and inadequate. It seems that lip service was paid to my concerns when IMO the home should be shut down. There was little point in whistleblowing as the people who are there to protect vulnerable adults couldnt give a toss.

When I worked in a+e we often had reports from paramedics of scummers who would call 999 feigning illness and then walk off when they arrived at a+e cured. basically a+e was in the centre of town and they wanted a free ride in. Should be banged up for that!

The one that makes me laugh is when a parent demands a house call and you phone back to ask them to come to the surgery and you get the response " well if you cant be bothered to come out then i'll take them to a+e". I usually point out that we are a few hundred yards away and I have offered to get your child seem immediately, but if you want to travel 10 miles and wait 4 hours to be seen then go ahead!

I believe the whole diagnosing swine flu over the phone is dangerous. I know of cases locally to me when patients have phoned up with fever headache etc been presumed to have swine flu and died from an unrelated sepsis. I try not to cut corners professionally (at work not on the bike) and i believe the department of health are taking huge risks with patients lives by employing call centre staff to do a doctors job. They know some people will die as a result of this gamble but have deemed this acceptable.
Personally i see all patients who phone up with suspected swine flu. I don't want to be the doc "who diagnosed my child's meningitis as swine flu over the phone".

5 days of steroids? no problem as previously said should work within 4-6 hrs

Sounds like BS to me from said doc, i'm to busy to look at it sounds like i can't interpret it to me!

the bottom line is you and your wife have not been reassured adequately by the said doc and understandibly you are stressed because your kid is ill. If you are unhappy and you are worried about your son's condition, take him back try and stay calm and ask that you would like your child to be referred to a paediatric registrar or consultant. The 2 quotes you have highlighted are not acceptable and should never have exited a medical professionals mouth.
