I watched the russian 2013 movie Stalingrad the other day I thought it was good.

And if you have hd, art of flight was a nice watch just for the scenery.

However the flip side is their refund process is 1 click in my account if you haven’t already collected your tickets, very easy. It is subject to a fee and the advance fares are not refundable. However, you can still refund and re-book an advance journey to something else which could mean you still travel cheaper than a walk on fare even after the fee. handy to know.

I had a similar issue on the bolt behind the bb on a 2012.
Took a fair bit of vice pressure using a socket and a random but perfectly sized brass handle thing?! lying about but actually a bearing removal tool would be perfect too. Just don’t whack it with a mallet. Took enough force that hitting would damage the bolt.

I have two routers both with different SSIDs (so i know easily which one I’m on)
    linked with powerlines.

The repeaters aren’t very good, waste a lot of bandwidth and as cheap to just use your second router. If you have a long network cable, don’t even need powerlines.

Needs some basic network knowledge, nothing too hard.
    google slave router.

I can’t see how with current diesel prices crawling around all day in 2nd gear scoping stuff can be economically viable unless some taxes were being avoided. Red diesel?

We still get them, not as much as we used to but at least one a day. They are doing a service though.

Couple of years ago I had a bad off at the foot of coldwell clough just at the end where it flattens out. Two drainage channels straight after one another. Not ridden it for years, cleared the first no problem at some serious pace, completely at fault but didn’t notice or have time to adjust for the second and I went flying up the trail. I managed to ride home over Jacobs and only the next day did the injuries start to really feel bad. Went to A&E for xrays but luckily no breaks. Could have been much worse. The ones on stanage, especially at the top I think are worse. Ridiculous, makes me angry.

Perhaps I should have taken legal action back then to recoup the £8.99 cost of the smashed bender fender, perhaps it might have made people in DCC think how ridiculous the designs are.

Race, one other hand, does NOT enable people to do things differently to one another, so to prefer one race over another is to do so based on completely inappropriate prejudice.

If I were Trekking in Tibet would it be racist to seek a local Tibetan who’s bloodline had lived at high altitude and thus adapting to the lower oxygen levels by actually having a different physiology. Their blood vessels are far more dense to compensate and make them BETTER at this task.

I know it’s an extreme example but sometimes it’s good to remind ourselves that we are after all a product of evolution and environment.

What about tubes with gunk in for those still not believing?

I’ve recently gone tubeless this summer. Had no issues. running Stan Flow Ex and a mix of a UST maxxis something on the back and High roller up front. Today I did a bit off piste down a bank through some brambles without a care. Was only a lunch ride and didn’t take any tools or spares.

However, tell me about road tubeless, I had two flats on a ride last week. is it a similar conversion or do you need tubs?

This is very sad. Been thinking for a while now we should have a Kinder Trespass equivalent. Last few times over stanage causeway I’ve had my own little protest up over High Neb which was a lot of fun. I’d not ridden it for over 20 years out of respect but my patience has gone and since ridden it a few times.

I’ve never had one. Mainly because

    1. They weigh more
    2. They cost more
    3. They can spoil a bike’s aesthetics
    4. They have poor reliability
    5. I can drop the post if I need to, don’t do it very often.

That video had me crying. Is it wrong to laugh? The sound track is genius and the photographic details are ace.

Changing stems is a PITA with the connect overdrive stuff I think.

But agree, the Trance is not a downhill bike but can go downhill quite well. The only issue I have with mine is if you don’t have your weight back on a jump it likes to noise dive a lot. I’ve learnt how to ride it but it still catches me out when I’m tired and can’t be bothered to shift my weight. For that reason alone, it’s not a pure DH bike.

I have a 2012 version, practically the same. There is not much original left on mine.

If you like going down it will comfortably take 140mm forks however I replaced with 120 Fox and they are fine too. I’ve ridden alps, lakes, wales and the peak on it and its fine , a lot lighter than the 9mm Rock Shox whatever they were.
The avids got ditched for shimano deore
the drivetrain I kept 9 speed but went for XT
Wheels are Hope Evo II on Stans flow EX
Next thing is to replace the rear shock and replace the bearings.

This is good to know what all the bits weigh…(if you are bothered)

Watford Junction on a Euston bound Virgin train is/was set down only. Impossible to police and I presume to stop people with cheaper Travelcards using the express service. But never stopped me way back when.

No idea why FGW do that though. Is it because the ticket inspector can’t be bothered to check tickets after midnight? Some archaic union rule? Seems odd though if that was the case because someone who is prepared to travel illegally definitely can be trusted to comply with the please do not alight instructions.

Went past there on Saturday and I think the fence was still in place. But I don’t get that route at all. I wouldn’t climb that road just to do that straightline descent into Bamford, but it’s all opinions.

Mojo can do a kashima factory series for £400. Or I can wait for the evolution one to come into stock for £285.

He said, I think you’ll be wanting the Kashima one. think again sunshine. And on scouring the euro sites there are a few options so its fine.

I screwed the barrel adjuster to the zero position and even with the quick release in the open position the pads touched the rim. But I could reset the cable in the clamp. I didn’t do this because well I thought I must have the wrong size. I’ll go try it, thanks.

Looks like the flexible brake hose was acting as a one way valve. Stuck caliper was correct.

Pook :Just nipped out the other night to make sure my gears were indexing. I got this at the top of the hill with my HTC one.

I’ve taken many shots on my phone from there of an evening and they’ve never looked remotely as good as that. Well done.

It moved today for the first time since Sunday to go to the docs. And the brake made a massive bang as it moved off. So stuck caliper seems v likely.

I have never been so wet and cold as a this January riding around Penmachno. My feet finally felt normal after stockport on the way home (no joke). Still liked it but I actually prefer the Marin Trail around the corner.

could be…but the caliper was new in July.
So for Wheel judder at 70mph plus caused with a seized caliper, presumably stuck to disk would cause glowing disk. It wasn’t glowing or anywhere near that hot.

    I’ll find out tomorrow.

I know. They did still work if I had to. Family on board, always safe. Wheel didn’t drop off, result.

Mine developed this on the way back from France at the weekend. Also wheel judder at cruising speed. Progressively got worse even though I did the 800+ miles at no more than 60. Which was nice. Coming from right front which was running hotter than the left. Its had a disc and pad. The brake judder was so bad in the end i was driving like i couldn’t use the brake pedal, coasting to a stop which in traffic on the M1 is not easy.

I defo don’t run my brakes hard enough but then I did get brake fade at the bottom of the Col de La Forclaz so it can’t be that. It has had new wheel bearing, pad and disc and caliper all in the last 12 months. The right front wheel has been my nemesi.

Goes in tomorrow, my money is on CV joint.

The country roads in south west France are maintained this way but it is done frequently and before the road deteriorates. Seems to work fine.

I rode up it with tears at lunch time. Or it might have been perspiration either way its unrecognizable and devoid of anything.

Agree that the drainage channel, think its the first one up from the gate posts where the rough stuff used to start, is going to collect someone. Too steep on the far side. Can easy clear but when someone gets it wrong it won’t be good.

Anecdotal evidence would suggest the transport method of choice to that dental hospital is in a massive german car and blue badge on the dash for double yellow outside the steps access.

The fact you no longer enjoy it as a challenge is irrelevant.

What? Why do you ride? I ride in the countryside for enjoyment. The fact that the enjoyment is diminished is totally relevant.

Such a shame. Also more dangerous I think. If they put in those drainage channels, which they surely will, one moment of inattention at speed can be nasty (from experience!)

But my anger would be suppressed if they made High Neb a permissive BW like Froggatt. The perfect gateway to WLT and Ladybower.
