I parked up my trusty Giant NRS after 7 years all season use & it’s definitely time to change the bearings in that one..

My NRS (2002, actually called XTC back then) had a design flaw, the bearing wore away the frame on the pivot nearest the axle so a new one was no longer a push fit. So if you still want to ride it, make sure you do change them before its too late. It was terminal for mine.

Only if you are riding these wheels

No tube/tyre interface, lower pressures = lower rolling resistance. Given that you use the same tyres.

    Really?

Why do roadies try and run MAX pressure; its not to increase rolling resistance I’m pretty sure of that.

That said I run tubeless. Progressively, one wheel and then the back about 6 months later. It’s faff but i often go out for local rides with no tube or pump just because it’s been so reliable. Last one did take about 3 rides until it finally stopped losing pressure. For me its all about no punctures.

Situated out of town in the residential bit on the main road west but it was very near our apartment which is why we went multiple times this summer but I thought it was very nice.

I did the same couple of months ago. I run a 34 raceface NW with an 11-36. I ride steep stuff in the peaks and some tarmac to link stuff up from home and it has been fine. I never ever used my granny ring anyways, I don’t know why it took me so long. It is so much better and quieter.

If you use the granny, go for 30 or 32, if not 34 will be fine. You can always change though. Lots of chainrings in the classifieds if you need to swap.

bi-carb worked amazingly for me last month. Breaks the acid down into non gruft smelling salts or something.

It’s also important to have identical security protocols on the wifi.

I see. All humax recorders behave better if you manually tune the Muxs.
Only adding the ones for your region.
Do that and they tend to be v reliable. I can’t claim 100% though.
    More like 99.9%

Buggy how? The only issue I have is the screen occasionally is green or blank. Very rare I think hdmi security or something someone said. Reboot fixes it.

I bought mine off eBay used for a steal. Remote was fading a bit
so I took it apart and cleaned the contacts. There’s a web how to for that as well.

    I got one of these

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/HDR-FOX-T2-Freeview-Digital-Recorder/dp/B004BMB2XC

Then stuck the custom firmware on it. It’s really great.
Stream anything around the house, download for train etc. so flexible and lots of neat utilities.

…And air temp, air pressure, wind, road surface, tyres, your weight etc etc.

But I also think the current rolling road test is beyond flawed!

It wasn’t phone hacking though was it. It was voicemail interception. Annoys me that one. It wasn’t right, but then neither is the over used ‘phone hacking’ term.

We did bourg d’oisans in June and it was really really good, I’d go back .
Used http://promptcc.com/ for bike hire and accomodation.

Loads of routes available from medium to massive.

    Alp d’Huez
    Col de La Sarenne
    Les deux alpes
Col de la croix de fer
    Col du glandon
Col du Galibier via lauteret (You will need lights assuming it’s open Tunnel or snow!)
And the easy but spectacular balcon d’Auris

Croix de fer was a great climb. Lautaret was shut but the road is busy and unpleasant.
There is a booklet you can download somewhere with all the routes. Much quieter than the maurienne valley.

We also saw bardet training on alp d’Huez.

    Just don’t scratch the bike.

The path from the viewing point at summit of Col de la Forclaz down to the Lake looked interesting. Although I’ve only seen the top and bottom bit.

What a great site selkirkbear (book marks)

    no.

the radiation (whether you believe it’s dangerous or not) comes from your phone. the further from the mast you are, the more radiation is emitted by a phone. the closer you are, the less radiation there is.

A mobile phone is a 2 way radio. It has a receiver and a transmitter. so this is incorrect. However, your brain is much closer to one than the other.

Now then, what about wireless charging points…next to your bed?

My neighbour has his massive samsung to right of the middle of the screen, really high up on the drivers side of the screen (All the time) on an even bigger bracket. He drives too fast and can’t speak English. It’s pointless me even mentioning the moronic stupidity of his ways, he’d just look at me funny.

    I just sigh.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I was forced to watch on itv player just now.

It’s still a bit buggy especially around the commercial breaks but I do believe that was an HD stream! What a refreshing find. ITV4 on freeview is still SD and looks pretty poor. Wasn’t expecting that.

Seasonal? I bought some in bourg d’oisans a couple of weeks ago and they were poor and v little choice. August normally a massive choice and so much better than UK imports.

I watched this, very sobering. I see the young lad learnt his lesson though and his parents for that matter. Bazzin about on the bmx sans head protection.

Yes it was but didn’t affect the red. Although, such was the mess you won’t have trouble following the race route should you want to explore that.

On Sunday evening after heavy afternoon rain I rode it on a 1991 Orange Clockwork in my best coat and trainers; I and it got covered in mud despite trying to avoid most puddles. Something we’ve not done together for about 15 years. half way round the bike suddenly felt less rubbish as I adapted to the road bike geometry.

It was a nice blast but unless I was staying near it (Centre Parcs near) I don’t think I’d bother really.

I did see some full face helmets on the Saturday on a red section. I don’t think you’ll need one.

Correct, they are old and have 12V transformers. The FGLEDs above look like it would be better. They take a 240v feed by the look of the terminal.

What’s the correct installation, might get someone in to sort it out.

No don’t think so but I don’t get the relevance of this?

The LED vents are part of the bulb and there because although they don’t get as hot as halogens, the light ‘degrades’ with temperature and the vents are to maintain efficiency.
