    Absolutely yes.

Only BBC do a good job of an app and even then it can crash. The itv app is horrendous.  I’d choose record ability over everything else.

All those on that webpage (that you can still buy) are recorders. I know someone with the the 2000T and i’ve got the older fox hdr (with custom firmware, which is the greatest thing ever). Interestingly after someone mentioned it on this very forum. A good few years ago, which i’m forever grateful whoever it was.

The only weakness is the humax remote. They all degrade badly over time. Needs taking apart and cleaning with alcohol every 1-2 years.

and the radio picks it up via FM

I would not be recommending that to anyone.

I used to do a fair bit of browsing on my phone, but i no longer do because it causes the cpu to go through the roof and the phone itself to become hot to touch. The battery percent value drops like a stone. i tried it the other day thinking it might have fixed itself, it hasn’t.

Agree on the search facility, used to work really well and the google site search also.

Iphone 6 on chrome. safari too.

You can not only let it display the internal battery level but also that of the paired phone.

ITV have broadcast live TDF stages for years. It was live at the weekend in the armstrong winning era. Been live every stage for many years. Hopefully it will be Boardman and Imlach doing the live intro and end analysis at the finish.  Juan Antonio Flecha is amusing but for all the wrong reasons.

But the one weakness of the itv coverage is ITV4; if watching on freeview it is standard definition and a v low bit rate at that. The itv player feed is slightly better quality than the freeview. i’m wondering if its 576p compared with 576i. Its definitely better. but a massive pain to use.

You can’t, the tension in the cable is equal to the force exerted by the spring in the derailleur. I have no idea why we talk about increasing tension. The barrel adjusters merely change the length of the cable. So all you actually have to do is remove any slack. And then either increase or decrease the cable length to get the indexing bang on.

clonezilla is another free tool.  definitely don’t buy another laptop just for something you can do very simply.  All you need is a way to have two powered drives connected to the laptop. a usb caddy would be the simplest way, then swap the disks over once ‘cloned’. If it has a cd drive you can also put a hardrive in the bay.

Just there is a chance of wiping data. so back stuff up first in case you make a mistake.

I can think of worse things for the environment. Like that desalination plant under pinning London’s water supply.  (to deviate the topic slightly). Or people not turning off laptops overnight at work

Televisions come with multiple HDMI ports to do precisely that, to support multiple inputs. If you power them off the tv usb then you can instead worry about something more important like desalination plants, space rockets etc etc.

Totally justified to appeal. How can they have the cheek to refuse.

Realtime trains is only 7 days. The rail industry has the full data just it’s not exposed to the public. It’s how they verify your compensation claims.

    Good luck.

Likewise a simple key stroke on your router and you can change yours to 192.168.2.xx

    Problem averted.

NON-ELECTRIC vehicles could be banned from Oxford city centre by 2035 in what is believed to be the world’s first Zero Emissions Zone.

What about Zermatt? Been electric only, for decades! You know when you read worlds first or biggest it’s usually wrong.

    Thanks!

For balance, I have two and tried them side by side. one optical , one analogue through my amp. The difference is barely perceivable to my ears. Although i do get crackles on the analogue input when there is no active cast. but that was improved by using shorter leads.

Have you enabled full dynamic range in the settings of the device via the google home app?

This nation has cous cous all wrong. It’s not about the cous cous. It is there to soak up the nice sauce of whatever is the feature. Lamb tagine with harrissa etc. on its own, or worse a perfumed packet from the supermarket. no chance.

I’ve noticed the spotify app (on iphone) doesn’t want to take control of the chromecast if something is already allegedly casting (not always true).
I have to go into google home and Stop Casting first. This is a recent phenomenon. Poor wifi can also lead to issues, unsurprisingly. I’ve got a second better placed wifi network which has made the devices more responsive, less error prone. BBC iplayer isn’t great either, not super reliable and will often just drop/stop. Radioplayer is better for live.

I did an audio engineering module at university and the lecturer said the loudness button was to compensate for less bass at low volumes due to the physics of speaker design. And then went into the formula proof, which un-suprisingly I have forgotten.

With luck and perseverance we can overcome this deeply offensive sexism and redress the gender balance to the point where equal numbers of women can die in dangerous first responder and construction jobs as their male counterparts.

Has anyone apart from the court seen the cctv footage?

we get to see lorries driving into a car and killing the entire family. I find it odd we don’t get this freely available to us.

Cavedale is much better than that climb you’ve got listed to the north of Bamford to blast back into the village. I’ve ridden that descent once in the last 20 years. As above do whinstone lee tor instead.

You could power a small FiiO DAC from a usb port on the tv to convert the optical to audio coax and hide it behind the tv, they are very small. I got one off ebay for < £20. Cheaper than a new amp and worked really well for many years.

After all these positive comments here I was surprised to be left disappointed really, the opening scene I thought was great. Went downhill from there and kept going down.

I can’t believe some of the camera shots, would have been easy to eliminate the view in the background of a blast furnace or a modern crane in loads of shots. Anachronisms EVERYWHERE you looked. And the continuity between the two wholly different beaches with vastly different numbers of soldiers. very very poor. Might just be me, but just looked lazy and cheap.

Could do, but doesn’t affect me. I pop them all the time..even 3am!

No carbs in them, just electrolytes. And only the plus have caffeine. these are the ones i’m doing in the night. Also good for driving across france without going sleepy. They have many uses.

have you got a dvd-recorder (like the type meant to live under a tv)? I doubt you have but that would achieve the results.

vhs scart out to dvd recorder. once on dvd…your world is literally your oyster. Except for the woeful quality, flickery picture and muffled sound.

    Enjoy.

I do like that but can’t help thinking that you spent exponentially way more time on it than it will ever be used for. However, nice garden.

If its got a 5GHz wifi, make sure it has a different wifi name. I had an issue that i thought i had poor wifi but my phone was using the 5GHz which is way worse for coverage and I couldn’t tell.

    Rename or turn it off.

Yeah, those iso fix seats are a real pain. They take like 5 seconds.

Thing is, why was he driving to a trail so local that a scooter could follow. My money is on the new Cooking on Gas trail. And perhaps the co-op in fulwood.

The equinox programme was a great shout. Found it fascinating and no smarmy Hamilton in sight! I also remember flashing eeproms like they showed the cosworth guy doing in the back of the lorry,a long long time ago.

The back of the grid lola hass is still a million times more interesting than today’s front of the grid corporate bore fests.
