No pics my but my fave is from top of rushup edge looking down to edale, with a few dozen paragliders circling mam tor.
docrobsterFree MemberI noticed a big difference going from QR 130mm toras to maxle pikes, and I'm certainly no Elbry. Notiecably stiffer up front, holds the line better in twisty/rocky/off camber/rutted bits.
I would look for maxle as a must have on forks in the future.docrobsterFree MemberWhen my now 8 yr old lad was 3 we got him a decathlon 14incher with stabilizers that fit via knurled wheels- no tools needed for removal. since passed on to my sister, her oldest has used it and outgrown it. She'll keep it for her youngest who's currently only 2, then it will get passed along somewhere else. I think we paid £40 for it, though it's now gone up to £60.
Has centre pull front brake so can't easily be used with a trail gator so I did at one point stick a cheap v brake on it.
Other than that it hasn't needed any attention, can't say fairer than that reallydocrobsterFree MemberHadn't spotted the bottle cages- goes well with chain device and flats I find
docrobsterFree MemberBrake cables a tad long?
I like the way it's a white bike against a white wall- squint and you can't see it!docrobsterFree MemberWas hoping to do a clever link to ****T.me.uk but the bloody swear filter blocks it.
Oh well, it's the thought that countsdocrobsterFree MemberI got a RF evolve AM 70mm stem from ccc/go outdoors sheffield for £25 (with their discount card which costs £4 a year) last week.
They don't show on thier website but if there is a branch near you might be worth a phonecall/visitdocrobsterFree Memberdepends
short bike- more difference in angle per cm increase in fork height,
longer bike, vice versa
trigonometry, innit?docrobsterFree Member1st flu pandemic of the century and a representative of those in a caring profession sound like they are running the service side of a car dealership
thanks for that.
docrobsterFree MemberBased on serological testing. Official RCGP email. Mentions specific genetic subtype. That's not to say that lots of people haven't been misdiagnosed. Lots won't have had influenza at all. Just that of the influenza cases they have confirmed, 99% are the swine flu strain. Early estimates of no.s of phone diagnosed cases that were actually swine flu ran at about 5-10%. (in the summer)
docrobsterFree MemberNone yet this year? Could still happen in jan. Dunno
3 months to prepare is right. And zero notice for when the vaccine arrives.
That's why we try and just get them all done on a sat am. Vaccine arrived a week ago yesterday. Staff ring as many people as poss all week to get them to come today. If you were being offered appointments before they had received the vaccine that's just daft.
And thinking again about the OP I don't know why they are being so rigid. We drew our own list up with no interference from the PCT but maybe your local PCT has issued strict guidance. You fit the criteria for first wave of jabs.
Don't ask me what's gonna happen about the under 5s that have just been added to the list. I heard about that from the news media. Official emails from the government came the next day :?docrobsterFree MemberSorry if that came over harsh. Wasn't aimed at you. Was aimed at any daily wail readers that might be looking.
docrobsterFree MemberRe the £5 a jab. Yes sounds a lot doesn't it. We've done about 250 this morning. 2 nurses, one GP, a couple of receptionists, practice manager and an admin clerk all came in for 4 hours on a Saturday. Add to that the work involved in setting up the clinic- sending out hundreds of letters, phoning people to ask if they are coming etc…
There might be some profit left at the year end, but I doubt it would work out at a spectacular hourly rate for my morning's work today.
I'm not aware of any other job where you are just expected to take on extra work for no financial recompense.
Last time I checked boots charge about £13 for a private flu jab, which includes the cost of the jab (£6.33 in this year's BNF) so £5.12 sounds like quite good value to the government for organising the swine flu vaccination programme. Their alternative would have been contract it out to someone like boots- I don't think that would be very popular.
So yet again GPs get a slagging for providing a service to the government at a cheaper cost than the private sector. Sounds like normal to medocrobsterFree Member99% of flu cases in Europe currently are h1n1 swine flu. If you get flu it's swine flu.
docrobsterFree MemberMitch, it was something along the lines of you like to get dressed up in uniform and then have sex play with your drugged and straight jacketed patients.
Harmless joshing reallydocrobsterFree MemberI wouldn't worry Mitch I read it and it wasn't that threatening.
I too get the feeling he is a little bitter after previous experiences of health services.
Sorry about that Kaesae, but please don't tar us all with the same brush. You may find it hard to believe but most of us do this sort of work cos we want to help people.
Inevitably not everyone appreciates the nhs, but it's a lot better than most country's healthcare systems.docrobsterFree MemberThe fact that the link is to an article in the journal of medical ethics (not the bmj- if it was bmj I could read it) suggests to me that there was some debate on the subject, 2 years ago when that was published. Doesn't mean it's widespread practice.
Yes people can be force fed if under section as anorexia is a mental illness.
If you want to force fatties to diet you'd have to convince a psychiatrist that obesity is a mental illness. They won't treat borderline personality disorder as a mental illness so I doubt they'd want to start treating obesity.
Where's Thom Yorke when you need him, I'd like to hear his thoughts. :wink:docrobsterFree MemberI wonder who would be employed to police the diet?
Some sort of hi tech tagging system that goes off if fatty gets too close to the fridge maybe?
Orsmugthin people with cattle prods?docrobsterFree MemberHmmm. talking as a Gp who is doing swine flu jabs tomorrow morning, with one patient booked every 2 mins, I don't think you'll get far blagging it. The inflexibility of the system comes from the half arsed way the vaccines have been allocated- 500 jabs per practice regardless of list size. We have 12000 patients and that equates to 1200 eligible in the first category (under 65, with chronic disease) before we move on to the 120+ women who are currently pregnant. As you can see there are going to be some patients who will have to wait till we get more stock. If you are in a similar sized practice this may be an issue. Having said that it does seem rather arbritary to use no inhaler in 6 months as a cut off. Book an appointment with a gp on monday to explain your concerns and if I'm sure they'll understand.
I am interested to hear you only get seen every 2 years. We try and see all our asthmatics at least annually.docrobsterFree Memberas above really,
1st stop I am afraid is the solicitors. They will write to your gp for whatever info they may need– copy of a+e records etc. And will tell you if you can just go and get some physio to claim back later or may want an opinion from a medicolegal doc 1st.
If you hadn't seen a doc at all they may adv you to see your gp but shouldn't be necessary if you've received attention at the time.
It all should be done outside the nhs.docrobsterFree MemberI have a friend with an 08 Galaxy who still pines for the t reg grand espace they had before it (top spec, captains chairs etc) which would be still going if they hadn't totalled it on a m/way roundabout in leeds. Mind you her hubby prefers the galaxy. They are in a similar boat to you- 4 girls aged 5-11 and a golden retriever. Their "small" car is a toyota verso. Both of them hate that.
We had the zafira from new in 03 and I wouldn't get another for several reasons- scary wiper clashing moments that leave you with no wipers on the motorway in the rain. Sticky ignition barrel had to be replaced as it was shorting out the starter motor- failed 2 days before due to drive to south of france. Chimps at the dealership. poor quality trim. Dull dull dull to drive. cheap to buy though.
Cheapest most practical option would be a vauxhall vasectomy if you ask me!docrobsterFree MemberJust got rid of our zafira for an smax. huge boot. plenty room for 3 in the back, the 3 middle row seats slide/recline individually. 2 spare seats in the boot suitable for occasional use. looked at corrola verso was too small. Smax is very car like to drive-loads better than a touran I tested.
2l diesel does 45mpg. lots of toys. would heartily recommend it.
and I paid £7k less than list for brand new car off drive the deal.com! £800 less than an identical car (except dvd- which I didn't want) that was 1 yr old 14k on the clockUnless of course you really need[/i][/u] a 4×4 :D
docrobsterFree MemberI was wrong
4×4 drivers in London 4 times more likely to be non compliant with motoring laws
There's a big shiny silver jeep near why I live that had "4×4 scum" scratched into the side.
However if you live in the country side, fair do'sdocrobsterFree MemberDo the owners of short haired cats find that they are happier when being stroked than plain old moggies? :o
If not, what is it that attracts you to them? :?:docrobsterFree MemberI believe Jeremy Clarkson had an XC90 for years as family transport and even recommended buying one (if you require 7 seats) in last week's Sunday Times motoring section even though the article was about the new Disco 4.
Just heard him say its the best family car available on 5 live.
Study in the BMJ few years ago found drivers of 4×4 something like twice as likely to be using mobile while driving (ie not hands free) than other cars.
Not sure why that would be, maybe someone on here will know…docrobsterFree Memberoh I see, obvious really
thanks
why has kaesae deleted that last post?docrobsterFree MemberOT:How do you do that thing with making it look like you've crossed a word out?
It's quite an impressive trick that improves the posts pretty well.Back on topic: Knowing the family of a young schizophrenic who has been convicted of rape and murder, and who were too scared to see him when he was released from custody, for fear of further attacks, I also would like to her Kaesae's suggestions for what to do when the criminal justice system decides they are too ill for prison.
docrobsterFree MemberAre you a cpn in Barnsley, Mitch?
My practice is in hoyland,
Shall we have him sectioned, do you think?
Clearly psychotic. Delusional disorder. A risk to others- selling overpriced knock off tat on ebay, and to himself if he carries on like this. I'll bring the paperwork if you like! :wink:docrobsterFree MemberIt looks like what my old man would have called "heath robinson"
docrobsterFree MemberI wouldn't bother with an xray
if its a broked rib it will hurt for 6 weeks then get better.
if its not a broked rib it will hurt for 6 weeks then get better.
if you start coughing up blood or green stuff or suddenly find it very difficult to breathe, then seek medical advice (that means from a dr not on here)docrobsterFree MemberAnd it was fit for purpose for 18 months – how long should a TV work for?
longer than 18 months
docrobsterFree Membertrade descriptions act fit for purpose etc
walk in to shop repeat above till satisfactory outcomedocrobsterFree Membervirus? did you change anything recently?
will it start in safe mode?
if it does can you restore to earlier point.
try and make a note of the error message on the blue screen (BSOD- blue screenof death) then google it
try asking on a pc geek forum like bleepingcomputer.com
or chuck it and by a mac (there said it before anyone else does)docrobsterFree MemberCould be worse, you could have admitted to owning a Marin
I've had to buy an on-one to restore my self worth and stop the self harmingdocrobsterFree MemberAs a general rule- if symptoms neck up only (ie runny nose sore throat ear ache no fever) exercise ok
if anything else no don't do itdocrobsterFree MemberHow much do you want to spend, given they will grow out of it in 18 months?
Decathlon perfectly adequate for £70. Both my kids have learned on decathlon from 14inch with stabilizers through 16, 20 inch and now 24 inch. Well made, decent brakes, cheap enough to buy the right size at the time rather than one to grow into.
comes with stabilizers you can remove by hand if not needed[/url]
Isla obviously superior but worth £80 extra? granted will have second hand valuedocrobsterFree MemberAnother vote for Sheffield- south west of the city if you can afford it.
Can cycle off road from city centre to peak district in 1/2 hour. Can be in the dales in 90mins by car. Lakes 3-3 1/2 hours. Cardiff/ S. Wales trail centres similar, but to be honest with the dark peak on the doorstep, why bother?
