If you have TRV's (thermostatic rad valves) then you set them to the temp you want the room at and they shut off themselves, standard rad valves are just on or off (not the balancing end ones). If you have TRV's then run the boiler as low as you can else you're just pumping over hot water round the ring when the rad valves shut off.

Thats the way I see it! If you can follow that 😆

I've only ever had one slow poster, I emailed, no reply so went straight to dispute. Got an email of them straight away and item the next day plus a gift. They were a power seller and just got to busy I think.

Is yours a big power seller or an individual?

woody2000, Dobbo – Reading a book better than using Twitter?

Well that depends very much on the book, doesn't it?

You miss quote me, I'm watching paint dry! Reading a magazine with lots of pics more than a book person me, TBA.

I like fonts as much as the next man, but having a thread about it is wrong, keep this sort of thing to yourselves. It will be used as evidence against you in the future.

I also agree, I also would add a load more to the list as well. Time for a clear up.

After big'ing himself up to do that is unbelievable, he must be aware what stress you are under.

You need to keep cool and not have a go at him though as you need to keep him on your side in the future IMO.

He's an inconsiderate tosser….but he may be the best at what he does, and that's worth something.

You look at the damage done by a Tsunami where the water stays in for a matter of hours, the animals and people did well to keep alive and find food after the land was flooded for 371 days. I have a big respect for them now.

Dobbo, a quick search will answer all your questions

Cheers for that, you'll have to pop back round some time. 😆

Does anyone really deep down believe that though?
In this day and age with the technology we have, with the history of boat making, with evolution proved, can anyone really think "Yep thats what happened he built a humungous boat that withstood a massive storm he collected 35,000 individual animals and food for them for 371 days then 8 people looked after them, then dropped them back off at the appropriate place in the world and life carried on".

I like they way they try to give it credit by saying scientists had studdied it:

However, a number of scientists have suggested that the animals may have gone into a type of dormancy.

OK scientists usually work on proven theory's but that seemed to have gone out of the window on this one.

    I also like this bit:

    How were the animals gathered?

Another enormous problem some have posed is the problem of gathering specimens of each kind of air-breathing land animal and bringing them aboard the Ark. However, the Genesis account indicates that God gathered the animals and brought them to Noah inside the ark two by two. Some have suggested this may have involved the origin of animal migratory instincts or, at least, an intensification of it. We also know that most animals possess the ability to sense danger and to move to a place of safety.

Well thats that one sorted then!

Mind you I've never been able to read the bible because of the irritating presentation – after about 2 paragraphs I just slam it shut in disgust.

😆 That's like saying I don't go to church because I don't like the vicars dog collar.

We had the Jehovahs round a while back so I asked them my usual favourite questions about the dinosaurs and then about noahs ark. I asked how big would the ark have to be for all the animals in the world plus the food etc.. and the witness said that one of the other blokes at his church actually had drawn (or been given) some plans for how it was and he would show me them, he made excuses and went on his way despite me trying to ask him some more questions about Adam & eve. I never saw him again so I still don't know how big the ark was.

    Akin to a deathbed 'conversion'.

It always makes me laugh when you see murderers, rapists, child killers etc. on death row or in for life, that all of a sudden turn to religion… then a few years later you get someone like Lord Longford or Frank Bruno singing their praises and saying they need to be understood and given compassion.

    Dobbo

IE, after claiming not to give people's religious views any sort of special treatment, you then dedicate almost a week of your life to slagging them off.

That's only true if SFB doesn't spend a week on any other threads slagging other things off, therefore your argument is void.

I was a weak atheist but found myself forced to turn to faith (for reasons I cannot discuss here). I have a need for God to bring meaning to this life.

😆 That's about the worst advert for religion I've ever heard, you still don't sound like you're convinced about the whole thing either.

They've just copied and pasted the standard blurb from the SRAM site

Doesnt mean they don't check it matches what they are selling, like I said I'd want a refund if they turned up with a steerer cut too short or if it was steel. I.E. not as they advertised. I think thats fair enough! Merlin say if the steerer has been cut I'd hope on-one would as well.

    Dobbo

The bits I've quoted are from the ad on on-one about the said forks. i.e. rotor size and steerer! They should word the advert to suit what they are selling if they are not as the standard spec.

    Dobbo
    Full Member

It says "Steerer Tube – Aluminium 1.1/8”" so if it's steel I'd send them back!!

    Travel – 100mm
    • Travel Adjust – All Travel
    • Weight* – 1610g (3.55lbs) to 1814g (4.0lbs)
    • Spring – Dual Air
    • Spring Adjust – Air pressure via dual Schrader valves
    • Damping – BlackBox Motion Control
    • Damping Adjust – External rebound, low speed compression to 'Lock' with external Floodgate
    • Lowers – Magnesium, post mount disc brake
    • Crown – Forged, hollow AL66 TV aluminium
    • Steerer Tube – Aluminium 1.1/8”
    • Upper Tubes – 32mm, 7000 series straight wall aluminium, low friction anodized
    • Suggested Rear – Shox Monarch / Ario
    • Max. Recommended Rotor Size – 210 mm

    Dobbo

I think it's the max rotor size thats 210 mm, the steerers won't have been cut will they?

I've been wondering the same question about the same forks. Do I get my 6 year old Fox Floats serviced for £100 or buy new forks?

I work form home so don't get to cycle either, I wish I did have a bit of a commute just to get me out sometimes. A few miles to work and back would do me good.
