Be the banker, if that fails to secure victory get up for a pee and ‘accidentally’ kick the board forcing a restart/abandonment.

To suggest that it can be dealt with in a purely cold, callous, and unemotional way, is nonsense – grow up.

🙄 Your words not mine, I was looking at the possible causes of the famine rather than the result of the famine. In your following paragraph you did exactly that!

Take the Norwegian killing, you could have a story on what happened on the island and the victims (emotional), then a story with the killers background why and how he got to that state, who helped him what could’ve been done to stop it etc.. A non emotional factual analysis of events that led up to and behind the resulting emotional story.

Here are 2 BBC articles on Somalia.

Looking at the causes without the emotional aspects..

    The emotional result.

I cant put it more clearly than that.

If you are genuinely interested in the primary causes of famine, and I doubt that you are

That’s a pathetic and low comment.

I’ll decline as I might get all emotional. 😆

Why on earth would you discuss an issue such as famine and leave out the “emotional aspect” ?

Unless you are indeed a “crass twunt”.

Perhaps so you could look at the some of the facts that lie behind the issue that emotional input is not needed to view at times, and does if anything tint. I would have thought that all subjects can be looked at with and without emotion, and benefit from doing so, unless you are indeed a thick twunt.

OK OP question Is it part of a “Natural Cycle”? Nope.
There is very little Natural about it, Somalia illustrates the injustices of the world and the jaw dropping ability of the “1st world” to ignore the plight of the “3rd World” until it is far too late…

but mostly man made; 20+ years of Civil War, followed by a largely useless government, Militant factions hampering Aid efforts and those Governments with resources, both western

Bit of a conflict there, is it the militia & warlords shafting their own people and country and discouraging the ‘1st world’ from acting in a stronger fashion, or the ‘1st world’ fault to start with? It’s like if you walk past people getting beaten up the street and don’t do anything is it your fault it’s happening?

The natural cycle I was referring to is if people in these countries have always had larger families knowing that things like the famine etc. come along and will take some of the children. If all the children were to survive would the country be able to handle the population boom? That coupled with advances in medicine meaning that people do live longer.

    It’s how natural selection works.

So the famine support is trying to alter the natural selection and will offset the natural balance.

Britain imports 40% of it’s food. If it wasn’t for imports, we’d starve in much the same fashion as those in Africa are starving now.

Meaning the population of Britain is too great and growth should really be reigned in or do 2 wrongs make a right?

Using Cetol HLS followed by Cetol Filter 7

Just ordered some of that this morning after doing far too much research, good to see it mentioned in a good context.

I also use Osmo Oil which does the trick on hard woods

I see this phrase a bit. I think its aimed at me sometimes.

Your either paranoid or one of a group, I don’t think it was aimed at an individual was it? I took the phrase from somewhere back there <-, you need to ask the generator of the comment if it was specific to you.

I try to take comments by users on the context they are written and try not to let “previous” cloud what they say, hard to do sometimes. I’ve even agreed with you not that far back.

Reasonable, well balanced people if that someone has made a reasonable argument for it that changes your perception.

That’s because they were wrong, not because someone says “you must agree with me”.

he is someone, like myself, who doesnt change his opinion just because people say he should.

Who TF ever changes their mind because someone says so?

As for big hitters, lol, anyone who thinks of themselves like that is so up their own arse.

I don’t post on here much because I’m lucky enough to be busy doing other things, I pop on here now and then, when ever I do there is always so crap like this going on. Someone banned, someone moaning about the ban and others saying good riddance to bad shit….repeat to fade. The bellend always is back on in a matter of days anyway.

I don’t know why people get so up tight about things that happen on here, I like to have a bit of a tussle from time to time if the days a bit boring and I want a bit of an argument, but that’s all it is a timewaster.

The children you see starving to death on the TV each night are dying for your mobile phone, the petrol in your car and other luxury consumer goods scattered around your centrally heated house.

Should that be “your” or “our”, do you not have heating, a car, mobile phone and some consumer goods.

So watch them die, wring your hands and watch nothing change.

It’s us again not you 🙄

I was going to go out for a road ride over a couple of passes at lunchtime, I did north & south Winlatter instead. It was good on the mountain bike today the trails were quick and dry, but doing the road tomorrow is more appealing.

I paypal them, and any site that uses it. It seems easier, the only thing is you cant track your orders with CRC and probably don’t get the promotional discounts as it doesn’t go through your account.

a general toys out of the pram flouncing, with a side order of faux indignation, with the intention of making a straight pwnage look like a personal attack.

😆 I’ve only read the last page but that does seem to sum it up well.

The attacker was described as black, chunky and wearing a grey tracksuit.

So they were trying to find the fella in the second link and have given a description of who they are looking for, the fact they gave the colour seems to be reasonable when giving a description, like saying someone only had one arm or blonde hair. Like it or not skin colour is a distinguishing feature, they often say the offender is white, middle age, male blah blah blah….

Stop trying to make something out of nothing FFS.

More roadie stuff required, I’m looking forward to the day the last MTB’er is forced out of this place.

Judging by the what road/CX bike threads a lot of people are moving to road bikes. I wonder how many MTB riders have moved over from road riding compared to the other way round?
