    Don’t Say She Lost….

Susan’s part in the battle is over, but she didn’t lose. She led the charge. She showed the rest of us how to fight: with determination, focus, creativity, and outrageous endurance.

I have been wondering the same thing myself… I few people have suggested that getting you mountain leader is not a bad idea as well…

I ordered a powerlink from wiggle and got 1 plate. Whats the point in selling half a powerlink?

Did you get free Haribo with that one and the extra one you had to buy? If so I would say thats a winner! 😀

Note to Andy – seeing as your reading this topic anyway! Wiggle get a lot of my money for the free Haribo. And the reason for this is simple – in my wifes mind the word "free" = "good value". So if I order a thing from wiggle and get something free she is happy! She is even happier when she gets the Haribo!

If CRC started giving out wine gums (her favorite) and even more exactly packs of just red wine gums (her favorite wine gums!) you would get all my custom 😉

    Epic!

    I'm guessing you mean:
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=871

    Where they say:
NOTE Pair means a pair like a pair of shoes, a pair of links means one complete link (2 sides).

And they give you the choice to buy several at once for cheapness!

£1.99 for 1 pair, £3.99 for three pairs.

You really cant fault CRC here!

Also from Wiki your Latin nota bene means In present-day English, it is used to draw the attention of the reader to a certain (side) aspect or detail of the subject on hand, translating it as "pay attention" or "take notice". Which I think its safe to say CRC did.

Short of making it red and flashing what more could they do?

Is this the standard – man comes on to whinge about something, gets flamed, and sulks?

Pretty much. All this thread is missing is an argument about internet law (when does the contract start?) and someone going on about how superstar would have sent him the stuff for free with a £50 note apologising or simply sent someone round to set fire to his house! 😉

    hope your £40 is a p*** take

Sorry no mate 🙁 New brakes are pretty cheap to be honest and the Juicy 5 is not a boutique brake.

if i included 160mm and 180mm rotors plus adaptors – what then?

£80 to £100 I would say as new ones are £130.

    EDIT

Perhaps a bit more as the 180 rotor is a nice thing to have – new ones have 160/160 from what I know?

then this morning I got a call from their customer services to tell me that the manufacturer had dramatically increased the prices and therefore they had to charge me more money as at the price I was paying they would actually be making a loss.

This sounds pretty fair to be honest. Prices have gone up – in a shop if you had walked in they would have said:

"We don't have any left – we are getting some more but they cost more – you still want them?".

However in the current financial climate companies need to understand how important customer service and retention is.

However in the current financial climate companies need to make money

Sorry but I think the shop have acted correctly.

In all seriousness the site search sucks. No offense meant to Tom because most site searches suck.

I would suggest Google and using:

    what_ever_you_want_to_find site:singletrackworld.com/forum

    for example:

Mr Banda obviously doesnt understand the term 'pandering to do-gooder Christian voters' does he

I don't know – I prefer to think of the UK buying good will with the African states – these guys are going to be very big world powers in about 50 to 100 years and having a decent relationship with them based on helping them when they needed it (well actually about 100 years after they needed it but hey – at least its help) might prompt them to help us when we need it!

a bit OT but my Italian colleague managed to block the sewage system on an entire floor in our office with his 'contribution'…..

    Thats pretty impressive!

any chance you could time it to drop one in the ladies?

Probably not – with a staff of around 150 slightly deranged IT guys and 6 hot HR girls (and one HR guy – seems a waste of a job role to me – are they not legally required to hire hot girls as HR people?) they are pretty firm around guys not sneaking into the girls toilets!

I would be doing 2, but also giving the game away by grinning lots.

Thing is people here think I am weird because I smile a lot at work anyway. Everyone here is pretty grumpy (even when I am not farting) so generally with the cycling, not eating gregs everyday and generally smiling and going outside they all think I am some sort of freak. (I work in IT.)

I am worried about dropping more in case I get caught. I think my company has to pay the maintenance company on a pay per incident basis… My farting may have cost at least £50 today 😉

If you're heading to Carron Valley it's also worth taking in Meikle Bin. Takes 2hrs max and starts from the CV carpark.

+1. Meikle Bin is a nice descent off the east – south/east side. Once you drop into the tree line hang a left after the big fooking ditch (you cant jump it. Really. Dont even try!). Follow this to the end of the trees. Cross the small stream and then from the clearing follow whats left of a forest access road back to main fire roads. Watch for bogs here!

Just to add balance – I personally think Carron Valley is not very good, the surface is like being on a cobbled street.

CV is where I learned to mountain bike. Its worth a lap just to do Kelpies which frankly scares me more than the Ayrs Rock at Laggan! Some big mental block about kelpies. Also Cannonball run is pretty good fun. Infact its all good! Ignore the OP! Just don't expect it to fully satisfy without something else as well – hence the suggestion for Meikle Bin!

Also on the WHW Balmaha to Rowardennan is pretty sweet.Drymen to Balmaha is okay – mostly dull fireroad.

The Arrochar loop is very nice – all the climb at the start (and its a chewy one) and then some bery nice fast forest track descent (ditches to jump) and a sharp right onto some very very nice singletrack.

In fact in Kennys book I have not hit anything I have not enjoyed. For those looking for copys Tiso in Glasgow (the wee one in the city center – not the big one up by Dales) has a few copies of his book. A mate just got one for £16.

I get discount emails for that hotel I was telling you about. To be honest tho make up a reasonable offer and say you saw it in the sunday paper (normally £80pp for 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast) and they will usually just go aye whatever thats fine.

With XP its always worth doing a repair install… or even a side by side install without formatting the disk to get data back. Unless its your work PC and they dont care about the iTunes music. 😉

How exactly would you check google when the PC is bust?

With the other PC your using to post here?

    dmiller
    Free Member

Quick test – as its starting there will be a screen that allows you to enter the bios – normally its the logo of the company that makes the PC or the motherboard. What you seen before window.

You want to press the key that takes you into the bios, normally F10 or F2.

Once in the bios DO NOTHING but see how long it stays on without rebooting. If it stays up here for 20 to 30 mins your good.

If it stays on press F8 as windows is loading and choose boot to safe mode and run your AV and anti spy ware stuff. This should resolve.

If it goes off then you have a hardware problem. Check for thermal issues first. Simply leave it off for a few hours and then try it again. If it works better / longer you have a thermal issue. Get some thermal paste and re-grease the top of the CPU. Google will show you how! If its not that its most likley power supply or motherboard. Beg / borrow a powersupply from somewhere and see if that fixes it. If not try it one memory dimm at a time (google will help here as well). If it still dies replace the motherboard (or system – what ever is cheaper!).

What type of PC is it?

Sh*t just realised who it is that started the thread! I have the OS 1:25k map for the area and a map of the SP route dude. Can drop them off at some point. Lots of fun to be had up there! All of it will be fun for you + your other half. Its a nice balance.

    When are you going up?

Contin forest just outside Strathpeffer where they hold the Strathpuffer 24 hr race has some pretty good bits. I would suggest popping into Square Wheels cycles in the village square and they will point you in the right direction.

+1 I would suggest do the strathpuffer route as a guide but follow the locals tire tracks when they grab your interest. Lots of fun to be had!

And the chances of being caught in the crossfire in an airport shootout are probably no greater than say; wandering on to an underground train whilst unknowingly being chased by panicking cops and being shot at point blank for no real reason…

never happened to me or anyone I know…. 😈

Having seen the cops wandering about airports with MP5s, and having had a conversation with one that started with me asking whether or not he was prepared for the carnage that using a weapon like that would have produced in a busy airport terminal, I'm reasonable happy that they used tasers on this occasion TBH

is this not the plot for Die Hard 2?
