in answer to your first question about the forerunner its a really good piece of kit, i have used the virtual race mode a couple of times, and it seems ok, shows how far in front or behind you are from the last time/whichever old track you used. being able to put routes in to it and follow them is handy (obviously you cant completely get rid of the map!) and means you dont need to keep stopping at junctions on new routes.

MTFU i have a super tacky on the front on my full bouncer, done a few long rides on it, just makes you work harder, on the plus side never lose traction up front like i used to!

oh also, if you cant check with a phone, go buy one, plug it all in turn it on and your will be able to get to the providers website to top up, so if that works top it up, if it doesnt take it back, dont buy the topup before you know you can get signal where you are, you wont get a refund on top up, but on the device you will.

yep they are good, and your right payg is certainly the way to go for that short time. alot of the guys i know use it as their only internet. Your best getting whichever one gives you the best signal in the area (check with a 3G phone if possible). if theyre pretty much the same then vodafone is good because the credit doesnt expire so you can keep it and carry on using the credit when your on holiday etc in the future.

Maastrict is a nice area, not great for mountain biking, but it could be worse, there are a few small hills around there, if your in so snowboarding/skiing or want to get in to it its a great place because its just down the road from Snowworld (Europe's biggest indoor slope)

never had a carbon one stuck. the way i have used (might damage the seatpost, but frame will be fine) loads of penetrating oil, removed saddle and wheels, and put the seatpost in a vice and gently twist left and right pulling. be patient, it can take a while.

i looked at insuring my bikes, and decided for me personally i am happy to take the risk, and save my money (dont have home insurance). never had a bike stolen so just going to keep gambling!

yeh it does come in different diameters, I'm sure on crc, they do different goodridge packs for different brake manufacturers. I had the same problem on my pitch it had avids on and changed them to hopes, they are so much better

yeh its not too bad i dont think. if you choose to buy elsewhere and cant/dont want to build yourself then pay up. when i worked in a shop it was around that sort of price for labour, if a customer bought as much from us as possible (not all shops can get all brands) then the build would be free. I would say get them to do all the facing and fit parts that need tools you dont have and then finish the build yourself.

miami ink is good, as is la ink, not so keen on london ink is good but i cant stand Louis Molloy, he is a very good artist, but i hate the way he talks to dan gold. they are all good artists, but there are pleanty of other artists in the uk who are just as good if not better and wont be charging as much as them. look around.

a pain in the arse if your not running ss or hub gears. right pain to get the wheel in and out.

oh yeh, and single speed, i hate hearing the sound of the chain, and also less to break.

I would say 24inch wheels as they accelerate a bit quicker and easier to handle, short travel fork, or a rigid if your confident on landing smooth. just a rear v brake will be fine. there are usually good ones going second hand, i got my fully built dmr sidekick with rigis forks for £250

agreed with ebuyer or dell. dell do student discount i think so maybe your student card is still valid? or find some one who has one that is, they also do discount to employees or companies and military, so you should be able to get discount. ebuyer are normally good as well, and aldi occasionally have some good spec ones going as well.

cheers guys. still undecided, mine is to replace a netbook thats seen better days, and would only really be used for browsing, and videos when i'm away, dont really need to do much typing. wouldnt mind usb hosting, but its not a great problem, and i have a mifi which is really good so doesnt need to be 3g, still thinking of just getting the ipad just cos i can. if it could host usb (other than just for photos) it would swing it.

for primary function alone my blackberry is terrible, have to reboot it at least once a day otherwise it sounds like people are underwater. sometimes it does it i have to turn it off, wait 5 mins for it to turn back on and ring people back. what a joke.

i've got a blackberry i hate it, hangs all the time, and takes ages to turn on again. stuck with it for the rest of of my contract. if it was personal i'd get iphone, depends what you need for work.

dont get a storm 1. its terrible dont know if the 2 is much better, but i think they only added wifi to it. my storm always freezes, sometimes in calls and sometimes i cant hear the other person very well and have to reboot it – which takes about 3 minutes (not long unless you really need to call someone back!)

not too hard to do, there are many different seats available, there are a few companies around who would do it, not sure on cost, same with windows bonded windows are the ones to go for as they keep the strength of the van, you can buy them as kits or get someone to do it for you.

yeh definately a new headset and leave the old one in the old frame if you sell or keep it. also if your getting LBS to do your head set, try and get them to face the brake mounts and take your bb out and fit on new frame if your not planning on doing it much and dont want the tools. again might be worth getting a new one depending how old it is as the HT2 BBs dont last very well.

you could copy the files from the laptop drive on to a usb memory stick/removable hard drive and then put that in the notebook. or if they are both on a network you could share the dvd drive, and then use it from the notebook.

i had spesh tyres for a while and was constantly getting flats, nearly every ride. Went tubeless and havent had a puncture since, i put id down to going tubeless, but it probably had something to do with the spesh tyres. also found they weren't that grippy at all, never felt comfortable on them.

i use walkhighlands[/url] to plot mine, you can export and import gpx from there to 1:50000 OS maps, they used to have 1:25000 if you register, but is temporarily down.

i'm usually lazy and just use crc, but wiggle, chain reaction, rutland, and uk bikestore are all good. if i'm in a hurry i usually used google to get a pricematch, print it and go to evans gatwick and pick the stuff up there and then.

cheers, i cant seem to find anywhere selling braided off the reel. My hoses need replacing, so might as well upgrade, and they do make a difference, got braided on one bike and standard on the other.

white forks are ace, i want some white forks for my pitch as well. they are reba world cups. saddle has been puched back after 1st ride. stems not too long, and it feels about right on that bike, wouldnt really want it much shorter.
