Had 3 kids prior to Minecraft, also had use of several p.c’s and an average electricity bill! 9 year old is up at 6 a.m. everyday, she also picked up on the longnose error above. Go for it,you can give guidance and vet what can be seen as needed, have fun!

    Paddy sends his wife a text;

“Mary,I am having one more pint with the lads,if I am not home in 20 minutes, read this text again.”

As above, take it easy, give it a chance to heal.I had mine done 20 years ago and ended up with balls the size of a melon! You will feel how much and when, good luck with a speedy recovery.

1 in 4 people live in denial, not me.

Paddy called the RSPCA today and said “I’ve just found a suitcase in the woods containing a fox and 4 cubs.”
“That’s terrible,” she replied “are they moving?”
“I’m not sure,to be honest,” Paddy said, ” but that would explain the suitcase!”

Is there a crack? Drain it and check, then apportion blame. Was the cistern supplied assembled? Did you think to unpack and fully inspect before passing the goods to the plumber? If it is cracked it will be pretty
obvious if it was down to manufacture or fitter.Good luck with getting it sorted out, really frustrating.
A lot of the cheaper “bog in a box” efforts are cast so pzzed that they dont play nice when you try to make them level up, I have had them where the seat leant one way and the top of the cistern went the other, not a good look!

Trouble is when things go wrong the internet will tell Joe Bloggs how to fix it,might not be right but thats how it is.Therefore anyone could have rigged the boiler, would an engineer have profited more than the owner?

Been a longish day, just did not compute! Was certain op would be better off with an onsite diagnosis, as it is not always straight forward, I guess thats why I went off with a list of possibles.Good luck CHL!

I understand that a plug/socket will take the load,my issue is where is the socket? Almost certainly behind the oven / under the worktop hence inaccesible in an emergency. As above I did not state it was a reg,I said Good working practice. What happens in a fault situation? Can you reach the socket to turn it off? Is it obvious to others where to isolate the cooker safely?Fuses alone will not protect you, they are there to protect the cable, why do you think I asked about RCD?

I would try and hold on til monday and get a local engineer,it could be gas valve but it could also be APS,APS tubes,PCB.Wish I could help further.

Most common fault on those is pcb, has it been needing resetting lately?

    What boiler is it?

    divenwob

Good working practice would be to provide an isolator, regs or not, what would an inspector want to see? Does the OP have RCD protected ring mains?

Not the easiest question to answer really without seeing the current set up I would suggest a nice wall hung combi from the likes of Worcester Bosch or Vaillant.Alternatively you could have a Boiler/Megaflo package,it depends on your hot water requirements and budget.

If you are taking the suspended floor out anyway then why not go for it? You can get systems as thin as 16mm that overlay existing floors.

How much would it cost to implement a scheme? To check and verify who is/isn’t telling porkies? How many admin? Who pays for the scheme? Whats to stop everyone jumping on the 3 months free? Would it cost less than £80 per applicant per month?
