    WOW !
That’s a record surely, mine are paper thin on the palms now and I’ve been expecting them to wear through over the past month but they refuse to give up the fight,
All TLD kit I’ve had has lasted me a long time ? I either ride like a fairy or I should wash them more often ?
I wore them to day and they were crusty and salt stained with sweat,
The rubber star on the finger fell off about 18 months ago, the XC logo came off in the gravel when I had a moment over a year ago ?
I’ve got two more pairs waiting in the wings so I hope they last more than a fortnight ?

    I’ve done it once !
At Dalby after a heavy night on the ale the night before, I stopped off at McDonalds to fuel up on pancakes, porridge, sausage muffins and coffee, by the time I’d got to the end of the A64 I was doubled over in the grass verge puking !

I started to deplete fairly quick towards the end and by the time the boring bit up hill and off camber came up that’s harder to peddle than the rest of dalby I started to cramp up and go light headed, I’ve done some of the toughest endurance events on earth and never had anything like that ! It destroyed me !
I drove back home and was waxed ! I couldn’t eat anything and then I had a craving for salt n vinegar crisps and orange lucozade ! Half an hour later I was back on track !
I got a bit of a mental block with it and often think “what if” ? So much so that I kept a packet of mcoys and lucozade in the cupboard for ages.

As above, peaks if you feel like a good peddle, not got a file for it “sorry”
And Wharncliffe again a good peddle or a nice place to push up and get your eye in on a few runs ! Local knowledge of the area is key so try and befriend some locals, sorry I’m at work or I might have been tempted,
It’s a great place to ride, technical with some good downs.

I’ve got a hope with Steel bearings and it’s been in 18 months with no issues. All thro last summers wet season which merged into winter.

I know some folk don’t rate Hope stuff but I can’t fault it,

    I agree with the above
If you go into a bike shop asking which one your comming out with one they can’t get shut of !

    I think you should buy a 27:5″ wheeled device or 650b ?
For those that can’t quite make up their minds, a bit like being bi sexual,

All this talk about different wheel sizes and being able to jump a BMX has no relevance to actually riding a bike, my son rides a BMX to school and I ride it back, it scares the Sh!t out of me despite the fact that I’ve been riding bikes for over 30 years, each to their own, personally if I were 6’4″ I’d have a 29er,

Don’t waste money on expensive clothes and paraphrases, just rely on waterproof skin !
Once you are P!$$ wet thro you start drying out, the worst that can happen, Grit washed down the crack of ur @rse !

You won’t want to be eating nuts after riding then ?

I’ve just bought an Orange HT for when my Butchers bearings squeal beyond the sound barrier, I’m not sure what’s worse the ride on the orange or the squel like a piggy bearings !

It’s taken a few long hours in the saddle to remember how to ride properly and it’s uncanny to think I’ve gone full circle back to a HT bike, looking forward to getting some training under my belt while my forks go off to be serviced but I can’t even contemplate an Alps trip on the Orange.

    Have some fun on yours,

smaca, I,m just North of Notts on the Doncaster border, I’m usually at Wharncliffe or Wales sometimes Scotland but my Son is keen to get some peddaling in this half term on his new bike so we started off the week with a run round the Pines, The Blue is a decent family trail and uses up the forest tracks and trails well, to be fair the Red is a decent loop and is a good Lick round when done twice.

I was a bit retisant to do the the Pines and should have took a trip North to Dalby but its a decent area and my Son loves the fort and the sand Pit.

Hopefully the next time will be a bit more normal….. and maybe we should have a pines Pootle ?

Me too ! Had to buy CK to fit a SC Butcher tapered steerer !

I’ve used and will continue to use Hope as I have found them impeccable for customer care and satisfaction !

    And long may it continue

The feeling comming on whilst riding long flat tracks or commuting suggests that the same position is maintained for longer periods, whilst riding other disciplines the Weight change and shift in the saddle and on the bars will differ between shifting up down braking steering and all the other associated actions !

Sitting pedaling holding an object out front with upper body weight exerted onto the heel area of the palm will almost always cause discomfort,

If none of the above works try pedalling so ur legs hurt more than your hands,

And as for suggesting index finger ?
Why not also consider Thumb ?

    Could that be Ulnar ?

If it’s ur comuter bike try bar ends, just gives you that slightly alternate riding position,

Also the obvious moving hands on grips position etc
If it doubles up as ur XC or trail hack try carbon bars, this will ease some of the feedback felt thro the bars,

No doubt ur sit bones are informing u of their existence too :-0
As ur arms and shoulders strengthen ur grip will become less pronounced and before long u will ease back into it and not realise
