It was rampant on my allotment but it’s sort of undercontrol now, as we didn’t want to use loads of glysophate using cardboard as barrier & lots of mulching keeps it undercontrol where its manageable to remove it by weeding.
    My advice :-
Break up top soil and remove as many roots as possible
Remove top 3-4 inches and screen it for any remaining bits of marestail
Place a double layer of cardboard down, lay top soil down on top of cardboard
    Sow your wildflower seeds
It will weave it’s way through the cardboard but the roots should be quite easy to pull out now.

As a last resort you can download windows 10 from Microsoft onto a 8GB usb stick, boot off that and wipe the harddrive during installation process so you don’t have a paperweight.

I’ve been lucky enough to have seen them twice, once at Brixton in 2005 or so and a few years ago in Sheffield Sheffield but I would have loved to have seen them at Tribal Gathering.
I’ll make do with listening to this recording of it which is giving me goosebumps as I listen to it

Listening to that nearly 20 year old recording they still sound like the future to me. RIP.

Hmm I might give this a go to claim the fee back from the organisers of Velo Birmingham ( the event has obviously been cancelled and they are keeping 100% of the cash, no discount or option to carry over to next year )

Most midi keyboards with USB midi will work with an iPad & the USB camera kit, though the keyboard may need to have it’s own power supply.

Mine got delivered this morning, it’s replacing an old SE where the TouchID no longer works on it.
It doesn’t seem much bigger than the the SE it’s replacing though I’m not planning to set it up until the case/screen protector get delivered on Monday.

    @epicyclo what are those handlebars?

This just popped up on my Twitter feed, looks like people have been bikepacking as soon as bikes were capable

On a dub tip I can’t recommend Rhythm & Sound enough!

Rhythm & Sound with the artists, I think Queen in my Empire with Jennifer Lara is probably my favorite track from this album.

You can get a 30 day trial of Office 365 and then pay just 5.99 a month to keep using it on a month by month basis.
You can also use the online versions of Word for free.

We have 2 cats and got some leather sofas a few years ago. I made some corner cardboard protectors from supermarket cardboard boxes which have done the trick.
The cardboard is black so doesn’t look too rubbish with grey sofas.

No real routes to recommend but I nornally use the canals and various green routes to link up places like Sandwell Valley, Edgbaston Reservoir, Woodgate Valley etc
You can also get to Barnt Green via the canal (with a bit of road) to add in the Lickey Hills and then onto the Clent Hills.

One thing to consider is how long will you be getting updates for it – my iPad Mini2 is still getting OS updates 6 years after it’s release. Websites in Chrome or Safari are a little slow on it but it’s still usable, the apps I use haven’t realy been affected in the same way.

An update to the Pompino has been promised by On-One.
I’d love to get an updated Pompino with a bit more clearance, discs and a carbon fork.
My current Pompino ( bought off here 8 months or so )

Peter Oborne article in the Guardian is very timely.
    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/nov/18/boris-johnson-lying-media

“I have talked to senior BBC executives, and they tell me they personally think it’s wrong to expose lies told by a British prime minister because it undermines trust in British politics.”

I’ve got an SE, my other half has the XR. After using the SE for 2+ years the XR feels way too big, Id get used to it if I got one but I’ll hold out and see if the SE2 comes out.

Binned Sky off a few years ago, we have Prime, Netflix and BT Sport via Plusnet broadband.
I think the only think I really miss is the Sky+ functionality.

Made a batch of chicken stock over the weekend from the remains of a roast chicken.
It got turned into Thai chicken noodle soup this evening. I added shallots, chilli, garlic lemongrass, sliced courgette, coriander, thai green paste, fish suace & coconut milk.

I think I’ll be doing it again next time I have left over chicken.

It’s been a feature request since 2015 and something I would love to see, I’m sure people aren’t really that interested in seeing my commute either, as n0b0dy0ftheg0at says for rides to count towards a target they have to be public.

    https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/208851557-Hide-Commutes-from-the-Activity-Feed-but-still-count-towards-my-stats

Sadly Strava seems to be removing features ( bluetooth sensors ) rather than adding anything new.

Have a look at the Burley stoves? We have the Debdale which is the 4Kw version of the one linked below, a fair amount of glass on display on them.

I bought a set of these last year off Amazon for £15, they claim to be Stvzo compliant.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/GreenClick-Lights-Rechargeable-Standard-Waterproof/dp/B0721Q5371/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=stvzo&qid=1571252782&sr=8-2

Have a look on German amazon page?

An Stvzo head unit that can be plugged into a magic shine battery pack would make a great commuter light.

If going through the Netherton tunnel I’d advise mudguards and decent lights as it’s about a mile long and towpath is mainly 1 long puddle.

Updated my SE a few days ago, it feels a bit quicker. I quite like the dark mode so that has been the only major change I noticed.
