Using this site with Firefox on an iPad, the pages don’t wrap around correctly most of the time which is a mild annoyance, don’t think it necessarily needs an app to fix this.

Thanks for the replies, plenty of food for thought – I think I’ll pop to one of the concept stores and have a chat with them.

I had just assumed that the Diverge range was all 1×11 setup so good to know they do offer 2×11 as well and that you can change from 1×11 to 2×11 if needed.

Ideally I’d have a gravel & a road bike but I don’t have space for both of them but I hadn’t really considered the Roubaix – what’s the max tyre size they can take?

Look at the Etnies bike shoes – https://www.stifmtb.com/collections/etnies

I’d love an spd version of the Etnies, I missed out on the Adidas Velosamba as it was out of stock by the time I found out about them.

How about 12 hours of the engine sounds from the Nostromo as background noise?

I quite the the Bladerunner one as well

If you have some plastic bottles you could use them – cut the bottom off, put a small hole in the lid. Put them into the soil of the pot and fill at the cut end and you have a slow release watering system.

I tried overwintering my chilli’s for the first time – a jalapeno, hungarian hot wax and padron pepper plant have all made it so far, 3 others didn’t make it.

I’ll hopefully get some seeds in a heated propagator over the weekend.

You might be after a powerline adaptors that have wifi built into them, I use these TP Link adaptors to get wired internet upstairs but they also have a wifi access point built into them.

Biscoff biscuits spread with Whole Earth crunchy Peanut butter.

Have you tried the Biscoff biscuit spread? This is crack in spreadable biscuit form!

I discovered Hodmedods snacks when in lockdown last year as I was looking for a slightly healthier snack than nuts/crisps – roasted broad beans/peas in a range of flavors. Chilli & Lime or the smoked paprika are my favourites.

One thing I didn’t know until the last few days is that if you listen to music outside of the mainstream those artist’s are unlikely to see any benefit from it.

Regarding the discoverability of features, use the “Tips” app by Apple. I’ve discovered a few useful features using that, very useful tool, especially when there is a iOS update and they have changed existing features or added in new one.

I’ve just found out you can search photo’s with text and it works, handy for finding all my bike pictures! Now if you could tag the different bikes..

This was a good read on the Avro Arrow, which seems to mirror the fate which befell the TSR2

Some funny rationalizing going on on here regarding the poor police being undermanned and overwhelmed. Questions have to be asked about Police loyalties (like we didn’t know already!)

The police just opened the gates for them.

If you just want to see how the laptop will work with Windows 10 installed you can just install from the USB without entering a key, it will work just fine, I think you get a message on he desktop saying it needs activating.

For some brutally hard techno also look at Surgeon and Ancient Methods, especially mixes from about 15years ago.

I think this mix from aeons ago is my favorite Surgeon mix as it’s a lot more varied than what he normally plays

What sort of budget do you have in mind?
The Volca Sample 2 probably the cheapest option, its basically a drum machine you can load samples into so it’s a little more flexible than a drum machine but the Volca’s do come with limitations due to the low price.

I was hoping to get to 6000 miles ( mostly commuting, road + a bit of off-road ) this year but I broke my collarbone in Feb, as a result I only managed a few Zwift rides between Feb & May.
Working from home ate into the commuter miles as well.
I might scrape 3000 miles if I’m lucky.

They’re nice rolling and lightish but wear out quickly

How quickly do they wear out? I get a at least 2 commuting years out of Marathons but if there is a lighter option and they lasted a year I’d give them a go.

On the synths I have, USB over Midi is both in and Out.
With Midi Out you can use your digital piano to control another Midi device.
If you want to play the piano from a DAW or other device you will need Midi in

If you have savings it might be better to apply for Contributions based JSA rather than UC as it’s not means tested.

Google New Style JSA for more details.

This is from what I’ve picked up from my other half who deals with DWP from time to time.

You could look at something like this Mini PC – Ryzen 7 4700u, just add Ram and an NVMe SSD & your good to go.

My pc at home is an Intel 8th Gen version of the above and it copes well enough with Chrome, a few virtual machines and Ableton

Are there any StVZO headlamps for Magicshine or equivalent battery packs? As it will soon be winter commuting time I’m after a light that will give 10 hours run time ( a week between charges ) – the commute is on canals so I want it lit up, I really don’t want to dazzle oncoming cyclists as it’s a pet hate of mine.

Need to consider the internet service before the leap to the countryside. In places it’s nonexistent. How are you going to browse STW whilst “at work”?

It will be interesting to see how good the performance of Starlink sattelite broadband when it goes live.
    Current speeds look pretty good!

I’ve stayed at the Mary Lanza Hotel in Los Christianos, Tenerife, there is a spa/gym attached to the hotel you pay a bit extra for to use but it’s well worth it if you use the facilities.
The hotel is pretty nice, we booked via TUI.
Link to the Spa, though there was no laned swimming so might not be 100% what you want.

    Those Giro’s look good value.

I bought some of those at the end of last year, they are pretty good, still looking ok after road/mtb & commuting use.

I’ve been using an 8th Gen i5 NUC w/8gb ram and an NVMe SSD for the past year and I’d really recommend one, though Chrome is a bit of a memory hog at times.
I’ve got HyperV installed running a few virtual machines on it and it gets used for the odd session on Ableton and not run into any speed issues with either.
