the fact that your pedalling all the time does help, going uphill slowly on a fixie is a right pain as well so i just try and get them over as quickly as possible.

i don't know if a fixie is more efficient but it does feel faster.

fixed ( with brakes!!) bikes are perfect for commuting round the city, i've been riding a fixed pompino round birmingham for the past few years. its the low maintainence thats the big appeal for me certainly not fashion as its got a rack, panniers, lights and mudguards.

its also worth watching the true stories:thrilla in manilla.
i think was shown last year i think on more4, after watching this film my opinion of ali but still he was i think greatest fighter but certainly frazier came across as the better person.

are you looking to put the bike in the car for security? In the past i've just locked my bike up next to the motorbikes and gone on as a footpassenger.

when you upload them from your phone you can chose to not share them, share with friends or share with everyone and you can edit and share them after they have been uploaded to the sportstracker site.

i wouldn't worry about the router getting hacked but i'd still stick a firewall on your pc even with a nat router as this won't protect your machine if you get a trojan / virus on your pc

you'd need a firewall which can block outbound connections, i've used zonealarm in the past and not had any problems with it.

i've cut my own hair for the past 15 or so years, its easy enought to do just makde sure you take your time , use a mirror and your hands to feel for any parts you've missed. its worth trimming the hair from different directions to get a good cut as well

i've always used wahl trimmers and they've been pretty reliable.

i'd avoid any routes at the weekend that go down carding mill valley as it can be full of walkers ( its worth a go to see if you can ride up it without stopping )

the flat tyres route that fozzy mentions comes recommended, i've done it a couple of times, minton batch and the final descent are both corking downhills

remove the keyboard and stick it in a dishwasher, once its finished leave it to dry out and it should be fine.
i clean the computer keyboards in work that way and not had any problems with them ( i do give them about 5 days to dry out completely )
