I know Mol…i did say i had some/a lot of work to do to adjust! I would’ve had sold all my bikes on sunday with the way i felt. Trouble is i struggled with enough carbs during a ride on my old diet but got by ok as i always had enough on my usual diet.

*goes home to more pasta, jaffa cakes and iron tabs*

Sorry Mol….fwiw i’ve been almost sugar free for a few weak moments but the most i had was 5 jaffas but its not actually been that hard aside from a few weak moments and needing a sugar fix to get me home at the furthest point of my 100mile ride on sunday when i could’ve sold my bike and sat at the side of the road for the crows to eat 😥

TSY i hate ms, please refrain from using that again otherwise i shall change my rest/wicked definitions 😛 11…blimey thats ages? *would like the moon on a stick today* 😀

*taps foot impatiently waiting for jaffas* can you hand deliver them please? i’ll cook up a lovely high carb diet for you as payment 🙂

Solo i know…need to do it properly but in the meantime i’m reverting back to my old (pretty healthy) diet.

i need to email idave and deadlydarcy about ichosen one stuff anyway but i’ve been too busy keeping TSY in check which is an extremely hard job* resting and force feeding myself lentils and beans. tbf, i have issues with being run down/low in iron as i don’t eat meat anyway.

Mol…the high carbs around exercise is what i need to work on, and total calorie intake too. I had loads of pasta last night and i feel so much better this morning as a result.
Phil, yes i have been resting all week and usually have a good 3/5 days rest/taper before racing. Everyones different though and as a female as said i already have iron issues and other such stuff. Edit after your edit…yes i meant a few days off the diet and back to my old one. The resting for once, i have sorted 🙂

*but one i love* *accepts jaffas with a secret smile*

How have i also missed this thread at 13pages long?!

TSY’s post ^ sums up my thinking. I’ve been struggling on low GI diet* and i exercise the same amount of hours/days per week as TSY *high 5s exercise addict buddy* and i’m also racing as well. I’m ditching it for a few days as i’m racing on sunday (eeeekkkk!). I’ve noticed pros and cons – pros being i feel better/consistent mood/energy, cons being i have no power/not enough energy to race or HIIT and my recovery is rubbish compared to usual. And there only is so many beans and lentils i can eat but i’m always hungry.

TSY knows my thoughts on him doing the idave diet *shakes head crossly* 😛

    *not 100% idave though.

On the road in sunny weather or off road on climbs in sunny weather, no gloves for me.

Wet/cold weather, always wear gloves as i had nice hands and nails before climbing destroyed them get cold hands otherwise.

An 8hour spinathon you say? Hmm *gets ideas*

You’ll love it, fun imo and hard too – assuming you put some resistance on, unlike most of the women i see in spinning classes 🙄 Take in plenty of water plus a towel for the sweat.

I’ve done a spinning class in the studio where the aircon failed. It was like a sauna by the end – the mirrors had steamed up and i had a dehydration headache.

I had a dream about my tan lines last night.

Don’t you wear too many layers to tan? 😉

    dirtygirlonabike

Embrace the dodgy tan lines…i have cycling tan lines as well as ones from general wandering around in the same pair of sandals all summer

Or ride gloveless and wear different length tops/shorts so that the tan mark is less noticeable. Oh and factor 30 ftw.

Do a ride like ours yesterday – 3 cafe stops, 3 lattes and cake – might be the first time i’ve come close to being calorie neutral after a ride rather than in deficit! 😆

I’ve had a rubbish day on the bike, not even managed to sit down yet after leaving the house at 8.45am and getting home at 7pm 😯 So my sunday night blues have yet to hit.

+ 1 for private…you’ll wait ages for one on the NHS, and you can’t be injured for the summers plans.

Pretty much same day ime, unless you have a preference for who you see – my physio is often fully booked whereas others in the same physio centre aren’t. Up here its something like £47 for inital appointment and then about £40 for follow up…but i get a discount so not actually sure of cost 🙂

Etape route is fine, but mustards advice about gearing is spot on for that corner.

DD, there’s a secret (ish) plan being put together for June if you fancy it. Details will be available once i’ve sorted out the last few bits and bobs. It will hurtrule. 8)

Weather isn’t looking too good, but I’m currently trying to fix that…

Keep fixing then please…weather last last saturday is needed in order for me not to have to clean my bike before bringing it to TBC on monday morning.

DGOAB – I can bring a pocket full of chocolate, although I didn’t mention how much the next bar would cost did I?

All i can pay in is hugs or lyrca shrunk in a boil wash?! Anyway, i’ve hopefully kicked the habit, but if it involves 18hour days on very little sleep, i suspect chocolate will be very much needed in the small hours 8)

Heh, thats true. June will be fine, I’m a little worried about July, thuogh i have a hankering to make it to 30,000ft. Oh, would it still count if we rock climbed the remaining 6,000ft? 8)

*feels left out and unloved as i have no email about bigger and better challenges in my inbox* 😥

Is this going to turn into a thread where we all claim to have bigger and better ideas and then fight to the death to complete them? *is so there already* 😆

Oh, and where is Jamie? Missing in action on his road bike again?

Of course bigger and better. Its my idea innit so therefore better 😛 Your wee off road lejog will do as a warm up 😆

Druidh – I may well plan a ridiculous 230+K epic to see you come buy then

It’ll have to take you 18hours, involve lots of sunshine and adventures in the dark to match our trip with you 🙂

I’ve also started to plant seeds in DirtyG’s mind about an off road LEJOG???

Ah go on then, i love a good challenge. I’ve bigger and better plans than that though. You’ll have to keep a secret stash of chocolate for when i say “i’m tired” like mustard did on saturday night/sunday morning *will be forever grateful for that bar* And also the 1am ish binge on the forth road bridge of dollymixtures 🙂

They include me so i’m not posting them. *is just a tease* 😀

Oh, and may i also add that i’ve had no chocolate/biscuits since the ice cream stop on Saturday. I’m not quite 100% idave but well on the way to kicking my sugar addiction. *looks at afternoon snack of sugar snap peas and tries not to think of the ice cream stop*

Plus I’ve decided to iDiet for the next month.

Don’t make me get cross with you…you don’t need to lose anything*! 😡

I have photies of TSY and co mol. Including some involving ice cream. Do you have the willpower to see them? 😛

I don’t know – didn’t see that if so (not been on here much recently). Hmm, hope not. I’ve established a link between eating pasta/bread (wholewheat) and horrendous sugar cravings. 😥

No, but i do tan from being outside cycling/running/spending time outdoors as much as possible. I generally always wear factor 30 on my body and factor 40 on my face and reapply it lots.

I couldn’t lie on a beach and seek out a tan for a week though.

I did my first crit race on thursday night. HRM died on the start line, so i have no idea what heart rates i reached but more than my usual max i reckon. I coughed for an hour solidly after it, and the cough lasted until Sunday night. It hurt too, like when i had bronchitis.

    with the stars for company.

*coughs* aren’t you forgetting two awesome people?! *coughs*

Is there a better way of pointing out pot holes? Druidhs high vis jacket with dark gloves worked a treat, unlike me in dark colours. We opted for yelling but wasn’t that successful *winces at the memory*

I think if the crit had some ups in it, i’d have been happier as i like climbing. Trying track riding in July. Just need to do a TT and thats me ticked all the roadie boxes i wanted to this year! I want to do duathlon, and an adventure race too. The ride with TSY on sat took a lot longer than we thought, so we had to ride about 50miles in the dark home – road night riding is sooo much fun! I think an epic audax might have to be added to the list!
