I reckon my Bad Boy fitted with 28c rubino pros is around 1, possibly 2mph, faster than my 26″ maxlight xc running a knobby nic and rocket ron.

Both weigh around 25lb, Im guessing yours is close to 30.

Then iffy disc cleaner – but alchohol was no better.

Chemical cleaners are crap, just about ok for greasy fingerprints, use wet and dry and soapy water.

He tried cleaning them and said it took about twenty attempts with a clean rag soaked in isopropyl alcohol to get all the black stuff off the rotor and calliper, and they still squeeled after that.

That’s because “Chemical cleaners are crap”, It would have took 10 minutes with a piece of wet and dry and a bowl of soapy water and he’d have had better results.

Just bought a pair Conti Cyclo X Kings, not tried them yet, still waiting for tubes. Billed as an all rounder, look good on paper with closely spaced center treads for speed but pronounced sideknobs for cornering.

.. Any green fingered experts here know what the chances of the privet regrowing at the bottom are?

Very high, 2 years ago I butchered mine back from 10 foot to 12″ stumps, they’re approaching 4 foot again and will need trimming this year. Only way you’ll kill them is by pulling the roots up.

Move on, your stressing over bushes, you must have something more important to do/worry about.

Ideal chainline will be 49mm although anything between 48 and 50mm will be fine. Not sure why you would need to use spacers with that chainset, middle ring should be fine where it is.

Scrub/scuff disks with wet and dry and soapy water, chemical cleaners can only do so much, they won’t remove baked in dirt.

Sometimes you have to take a brillo to the frying pan.

Been looking for 26″ forks for my nieces bike, decent 26″ forks cost as much now as they’ve ever done.

Have 3 x 26ers and wont be selling any of them. Dont get the sell now and cut your losses mentality either, if I did sell I would still need to put a large wedge towards replacing them.

    and wearing out quick,

Lot of folks running 10 speed rear mechs beyond their design limits with extra long b screws that reduce chain wrap, hence premature wear.

I have some p45 SKS chromoplastics which measure 45mm externally and are suitable for tyres up to 38c, question is have you got 45mm between stays?

P35 measure 35mm externally but are only suitable for tyres up to 32mm.

This is why I only fit the manufacturer`s pads..push the pistons back, and put the pads in.

    Not if they’ve been overfilled.

1×10 running 11-42 on a deore rear derailleur is odd in a production bike as its outside of the recommended cassette size for the derailleur. Must be something like a sunline cassette too.

Thought exactly the same, no Goat Link or Radcage either :? , just waiting for an influx of “Marin Hawk Hill my gears are slipping and it’s only a week old” threads.

    Sunrace cassette.

I’m leaning back to the Marin as it’s available on the ride to work scheme. I can get £400 of the price.

Put some of it towards an 11 speed rear mech and sell the 10 speed one that’s on it.

@captaindanger Marathon Supremes are tubeless ready so will be fine up to their maximum recommended pressure, sorry didn’t read post properly, thought we were talking standard Marathons.

Ok another question, any benefit in running tubeless 40psi 1.6″ marathons?

Will feel very similar to your current setup when running at 40 PSI, if your happy running 40 PSI then they’ll be fine.

Think you’ll need an innertube in there if your running 60PSI

connect them together and it feels like my thumb pressure will break the lever!

If it’s the Front Mech then it’s possible you’ve incorrectly routed the cable and are now pulling the Mech in the wrong direction?

why do people keep assuming that it’s a concept store , that has never been stated and the balance of probability would suggest that it was an indepedant LBS .

It was bought from the Specialised concept store in Fort Dunlop.

Do you replace wheels after buckling them?

Sometimes you have to, its not always viable to repair a bent wheel.

Let’s see how long the bargain repair lasts, it will be weaker than the original and he buckled that, could well be a waste of £23.00, I blame Danny Macaskill.

Put the bead of the tyre into the very middle of the rim when you’re putting the tyre on …

    This ^

and start opposite the valve and work back towards it. The little extra thickness around the valve could make the difference between success and fail

And this^ , is exactly how it should be done.

No thankfully I haven’t, was there any evidence that cannabis alone was the cause?

    dirtydog

Personal experience is generally the worst kind of evidence

Shut the forum, there’s no point, we cant rely on our own experience and have no evidence to back any of our claims up.

Ever smoked a joint Drac or know anyone in the real world who has? I guess not otherwise you wouldn’t be offering up as evidence a couple of studies we nothing about and that contradict real life experience.

Bit like Ebikes are shit but I’ve never rode one argument.

So how many people were killed on the roads this year as a direct result of cannabis use, must be hundreds at least?
