Will be fine, the Trance is warranted for 140s and rides much better for them.

I fitted a pair of 140 FIT RLCs a couple of weeks ago to a mates 2009 X3, you may have to remove the large cone stem spacer in order to keep the bars low but it ain’t a problem.

    Looks nice!

    Don’t pull them , Push them !

If you pull you will just make them tighter and risk tearing them.

No window cleaner or any other chemicals involved, just push.

    +1 for ESI grips

    They’re silicone not rubber!

    For

They’re light, provide excellent damping characteristics, are much more comfortable than lock ons and they don’t slip (even when wet).

    Against

Don’t protect the end of handlebars (carbon) the way lock ons do , not as hard wearing in the eventuality of a crash.

Waste of £25.00, it won’t make any noticeable difference.

Probably, remove all air and check they can be fully compressed.

Yes they’re supplied the ‘wrong’ way round, just need to swap levers and bleed.

    Could be grease ports.

Apparently in race circles it’s not uncommon to remove the foam rings and fill the void with grease.

Maybe they’ve done away with the foam rings!

Probably because you gave it two stars, I’ve experienced the same.

Try again, I bet it doesn’t get published.

    That’s very strange if they’re SL-M780s.

You can just make out on the photo that mine are definitely 780s.

Could they be OEM, do Shimano even make OEM shifters?

    Your warm!

    It says 2x and 3x, here’s mine

Shifter needs to be on middle ring when changing mode switch.

9 speed rings can be used on a 10 speed set up. Its the chain/cassette that needs to match

The “mode convertor screw” is located on the underside of your left hand shifter, look closely.

    Don’t force it!

You have to push the downshift lever slightly whilst turning the screw, it’s probably best to read the instructions which will be on the Shimano site.

I used to have a pair of 2004 MX comp ETAs which I’m 90% certain are the same as the pros except the rebound was adjusted internally via a rod, turning the rebound made no noticeable difference.

I think it’s just how they are.

I went for a 10 speed triple XT, ditched the outer ring for a bash and replaced the middle with a 36t.

Rose bikes are pretty cheap for rings.

    or

    and just remove the outer.

Why not ask Virgin to extend the original coax, that way you can use your new combi router/modem in place of your current router.

After all, it’s not your fault they have started to supply combi router/modems.

It all depends on what size rings you are running.

I’m running a 10 speed Shimano 2012 FD-M785-10 double specific mech with a triple 10speed XT chainset (50mm chainline) that I have converted to double and bash with 24 – 36 rings.

I also tried an XT triple (10 speed) and the double specific (9 speed) SLX mech before settling for the FD-M785-10.

    Chainline won’t be a problem.

He was given 11 and a half years for the arson, two years each for two counts of burglary, and three years for a third count of burglary, to run concurrently.

They’ve been throttling the network for the last few years.

It’s unlikely the dropped packets/corrupt downloads would be caused by throttling.

i tried to leave a less then glowing review for poc gloves,it wouldn’t let me,and there was no mention of crc.

Also experienced this, have had no real issues with service though.

    +1 for SKF seals.

Fitted a pair to a set of 36s, they have made a noticeable difference.

I agree with getonyourbike,in terms of stiction there’s no perceivable difference in mine and a friends 2011 Kashima 36s

I don’t mind admitting that I didn’t do much better, I managed to do a whole 100-150 metres of that section without having a dab. I suppose with practice most of it could be cleared, my only consolation being 99.999999999% riders would not get down cleanly.

We followed the Bogtrotters “Helveln anti clockwise” route http://www.bogtrotters.org/route/showrouteframe.php?route=24 and rode up from Glenridding via Matterdale Common, Great Dodd, Little Dodd etc and where expecting a scree like path not rock steps.

I suspect this particular route might be better if done in a clockwise direction.

Out of interest has anyone managed to clear it?

    @mikesmith

I agree it’s technical but most riders will struggle to get down the zig zags.

I did it a couple of years ago and had to walk most of that section, Danny Mcaskill would struggle.

For the benefit of the OP here’s a video I found on you tube of the zig zags.

As usual the video doesn’t do it justice.

I’m pretty sure they slackened the head angle by 0.5 degree.

Just had a look , maybe they didn’t, not sure were I got that from.

Not much, had an accident not long after I bought it and suffered a mallet fracture(tendon torn from bone), finger was in splint for several months.

    Spacing will be the same.

Frame wrap works fine but I later found out it’s just self amalgamating tape and can be bought elsewhere for half the price.

    Google self amalgamating tape.

Running an XT 2×10 double and bash here (orange 5) but with 24-36 rings. I initially tried the double specific SLX 9 speed mech but found the XT FD-M785-10 double specific gave the best results.

I’ve just took delivery of a brand new pair from Rose, I’m now thinking I may be better sending them back for replacement before they get fitted.

It wouldn’t be so bad if they where mine but they’re a friends who bought them on my recommendation after reading nothing but glowing reviews.

Trying to get hold of 2012 Shimano spares in the UK is a joke!
