    I’ve just got myself one of these;

Helmet compatible hood is a winner for me. No point in a waterproof if it runs down your neck

    +1 for Rab

Been using a Latok Alpine (Event fabric) for the last three years, if I where to buy another jacket it would be Rab.

Smashed my Archi Enduro as well, the chin guard is far too weak, wouldn’t have one again!

Judging by that photo I got off lightly.

And it’s not biscuits and cakes is it?
No, it’s meat & veg, which by weight are cheaper than biscuits and cakes.

The weight of something has no bearing on it’s nutritonal value.

When was the last time you saw 5 pieces of fruit for the price of 3 or 50% extra off the price of vegetables?
Quite a lot actually, particularly if you buy things in season rather than, say, strawberries in December.

    POSTED 2 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

Show me any supermarket that is currently offering fruit or vegtables at a discounted price.

I can show you plenty that have special offers on “stodge”.

Whats weight got to do with it?
Everything. If I was on the poverty line (thankfully I’m not) I would be looking for the most nutrient dense foods for my money.

And it’s not going to be found in biscuits and cakes is it?

it’s how people on low incomes are able to afford to eat!

Bollocks. That same excuse trotted out again. ASDA chicken wings: £1.69/kg. ASDA frozen peas: £1/kg. Show me any cakes or other nutrient-free items that are as cheap as that by weight please (offers included).

Whats weight got to do with it?

Currently working in “2 beemer country” (Horsham) and haven’t seen as many obese people by a long shot….

    Woody – Member
There is definitely and obvious connection between poverty and obesity,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and then there is Aberdeen

Supermarkets have got a lot to answer for.

“Buy one cake get another free” or this weeks special offer “3 stodgy items for the price of two”.

You never see these sort of offers on anything which is remotely healthy.

When was the last time you saw 5 pieces of fruit for the price of 3 or 50% extra off the price of vegetables?

Yes there’s a responsibility on the part of the parents, however families on low incomes will always be drawn towards the Supermarket “special offers”, it’s how people on low incomes are able to afford to eat!

Supermarkets are nothing more than drugs(sugar)pushers trying to maximimise profit as that’s where the money is made.

Given the fury over the hillsborough taunts between rival football fans [ always the victim , never your fault] I rather thought Tazzy made the worst contribution so far as he seems to be mocking Scousers for their reaction to the death of 96 innocent lifes. IMHO that is far worse than calling sun editor Mckenzie a ****

I only got the thing last Wednesday!

So not a lot of people would know you had it!

Sounds like someone who knows you or maybe it was just incredibly bad luck! :?

I was looking at the HD 558 or the HD 598, but no-one’s mentioned them yet. Although they look a lot bigger than the 25 which might make me look like a plonker if i decide to wear them outside.

If you like the Sennheiser sound then stick with them.

I’ve got a set of HD 595s however IMO they would be wasted in a laptop, they’re the same as the 598s but without kitch finish.

They are rather large for portable use as are the 558s

Your best bet would be to go to a HI FI store and have a listen to a few different sets.

    ….because they all run single rings. With a good chainline and correct gear selection 2x riders should not need a chain device. See Greg Minaars Nomad below;

It’s easy to understand why though!

Minion ST on the front and you can pretty much ignore the fact it’s wet, however you won’t be impressed by the weight or straight line speed.

Edit: Your already slipping on 42a? :?

What you need is a tyre that rolls like a RR but grips like a super tacky, let me know when you find it!

Like it, just a pity about cb finishing kit.

Fork stopper is probably to prevent the the brake levers and shifters from coming into contact with the top tube in the event of a crash.

It would prevent damage like this (not mine)

    and another

    Some info here for you

    http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Final-Part1-Eurobike-2012.html

Hope’s faithful V2 had been in service since 2007 when it was introduced with the old Moto lever, but with the game of evolution never ending it was time for a refresh and rethink. In its place is the V4, a larger and more powerful version of the M4 and capable of accepting Hopes vented rotors. Featuring longer and shallower pads with greater surface area than the outgoing brake allows all Hope brakes to now use the same depth of rotor. The new caliper is stiffer too, controlled by Hope’s Tech Evo lever with bearing pivots and an increase in power of 15% thanks to revised geometry. The leading piston is 18mm while the smaller trailing is 16mm and stolen from the M4. Lighter, better performing and smoother acting, it should add up to a very high performance brake.

A few years ago i sat the Trail Cycle Leader exam then quickly followed it up with the Mountain Bike Leader exam and the instructors at the time tried to batter into me the importance of dropping the seatpost for difficult sections but i had a major disagreement with them regarding this as surely on a ride when your blatting along and you come to a downhill or drop-off section of trail you do not have the time nor stopping distance to halt and drop your post before carrying on, you have to learn how to get your arse over the back of the saddle and feel comfortable and confidant adjusting your body position as you see fit dependant on the trail conditions – where is this rant going?,

i dunno really but if you feel the need to drop your saddle every time you come to a tricky section then perhaps you should learn or get taught some basic bike handling skills rather than rely on a dropper post or waste time by dropping it manually.

So you chose to completely ignore the advice given by the instructor, that was a waste then!

I suppose Jedis doing it all wrong as well

Maybe you should start running some skills courses, the experts could learn a lot from you.

Is the high stop set correctly?

Change to smallest rear sprocket and check the mech is sitting on the stop and not resting on the cable tension.

Already spoke to Hope about this and they advised that they shouldn’t rattle.

However the fix was easy, I used a fire poker, a socket to support the underside of the rivet and a large hammer to ‘tighten’ the rivets up.

    They’ve been fine ever since.

It might be worth giving the pads a sand in case they’re glazed, it does sound like a pad/rotor issue though.

can bombard the earth with certain types of energy, this energy is absorbed by the earths core, which in turn increases the heat of the core.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inner_core

If your going to offer this^ as evidence to support your theory then a least have the common decency to read what is you putting forward because………..

Little is known about how the inner core grows. Because it is slowly cooling………………

Used to have a set, still have, but they now have standard hoses on them. The Goodridge hoses are now on a set of M775s but from what I can remember there was a gap, maybe two or three threads, they didn’t butt up tight to the levers.

    Pretty sure it’s normal.

    Agree with the last two.

The best time to head up is around 4:00pm
    – 5:00pm. Most walkers will be off the mountain by the time you get to the top.

Last time we did we had a completely clear run top to bottom!

When they talk too each other they are having to make two jumps across the wireless network, when your ping google from one of your devices your only making one wireless jump across the network.

Any packet loss between the two?

Yeah, I would have thought it would have cracked from bottom to top not top to bottom i.e. the direction of travel.

Is this all aesthetic? Something to do with overly stiff carbon frames? Weight?

If I were to hazard a guess I would say a long post would allow a rider to remain seated longer thus conserving energy for when it’s needed.
