    Thanks for that.

So it’s basically the same as the Syntace x12 system where the hub end caps sit in machined drop outs rather than float around like the current 135mm Maxle design.

If it means less faffing getting the wheel lined up then it can only be a good thing.

36 Float RC2 to prevent the hydraulic lock

What’s the issue here, are you referring to the oil in the lowers migrating to the top of the air piston or is this something else?

    What year are they?

I’ve just converted my 36 Talas RC2s to Float RC2s, is it something I should be concerned about?

dirtydog, Immediately after a bleed, they are great (still not M4 good, but pretty fabulous), but if left over time (say 1 week) or during a long ride, it becomes a lever pull to the bar scenario. if I do multiple pumps, they are back to strength, but obviously doing this every time I need to brake is far from ideal!

Does sounds like trapped air, possibly rising into the lever (assuming bike is stored upright). I’d be tempted to try a reverse bleed i.e pushing fluid up through the calipers then bleed as per instructions.

Dirty dog, I know you could read it that way, but what I meant was there are 4x rubber diaphragms, I have replaced all of them. Once.

    Ahh, fair enough.

Like you I bought a pair second hand, I’ve had them two years but I’ve have not had a problem with them.

When the levers pull to the bars do they go squishy and lack power or is it just an issue with the lever throw i.e. they feel firm but with a lot of travel?

Thing is with brakes there’s not a lot it can be, O rings/seals, air in the system or possibly sticky pistons, nothing that can’t be fixed.

replaced the rubber diaphram thing 4x on the levers

    Four times?

You know what they say about someone who repeats the same thing over and over and expects to get a different result?

For the sake of 8 quid a side…..

I’m in exactly the same boat, want to get a week away before I start a new job next month. This lot are a definite possibility. I would probably prefer the Canaries for better weather but there don’t seem to be so many bike-specific operators and Club La Santa is too pricey. Lavatrax sounds good but I was put off by this bit in PeterPoddy’s review:

140mm all mountain bike as a bare minimum. I’m no bike snob, but don’t even consider a hardtail

But it’s only when bleeding them they become an arse, which is what 2/3 times a year?

    That’s 2/3 times too many.

A 50mm chainline is awful for a single ring setup, you could try fitting some chainring spacers.

some info about their use on Sheldons site

As a last resort try resetting the TCP/IP stack, I don’t think this has been suggested.

At command prompt (must be run as administrator) type the following command

    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

    reboot the computer.

CRC bags are OK just make sure you remove the shoulder straps before passing it over the the luggage handlers otherwise they’ll use them to rip the sides off.

Decent bags as long as you unclip the shoulder straps!

    Problem with drivers?

Go into the device manager, any exclamation marks next to it?

Try disabling/re-enabling or removing it from the device manager and rebooting, you may need the drivers handy in case windows doesn’t find them again.

Not recently, but yes there is a bridleway that follows the shoreline of Llyn Cowlyd, you can follow it down to the A5 then ride back to Capel Curig and then take the bridleway (Opposite Pinaccles) back up to Llyn Crafnant.

Done the loop a few times but not from the Dolgarrog end.

    They’re not F series they’re floats(slightly stiffer than F series).

Probably OEM or possibly Float 140s with travel reduction spacers fitted, J.E. James would know for sure.

    Someone mention Mission?

Mission 780s and 760s are both worth a look, particularly the 780/780SEs, a pair sold on Ebay last week for £35.00. The 780SEs where highly regarded and originally cost around £240.00.

Anyone been hit by this type of fraud?

Yes twice this year within the space of two weeks.

The fist time it happened the bank simply refunded the money, they didn’t cancel my card and two weeks later the fraudsters helped themselves again. In spite of several calls and a signed declarations from me I’m still owed money because the bank(Halifax)are still refuting a number of the loans.

The Halifax are complete and utter idiots, had they closed my account on the first occasion they wouldn’t have had the opportunity the second time around, I’m still waiting for an answer as to why they didn’t do this?

I was actually sent an unsigned credit agreement by the Halifax as proof that I had took out one of the loans LOL, proof if any where needed that these loans are getting thrown out to anyone!

In fairness Wonga wasn’t one of the companies involved however all fraudulent transactions(there where many)where payday loan related!

I strongly suspect this type of fraud is rife and the banks are doing everything possible to hush it up.

That’s just the button kit, if the inner bore has been scratched/scored you’ll need the whole thing and it’s still a ridiculous price for what you get.

OP should get away with the button kit, mine snapped internally and scratched the inner bore

After a bit of googling I’ve tried the following:
Updated, reinstalled and rolled back wireless card drivers
Turned off the feature allowing windows to turn off the card to save power
Made sure I am on a different channel to the neighbours. They are on 1,6,7 and 11, I’ve tried a few options. Currently on 9.

Not sure what to try next. Any ideas?

Check that the routers firmware is up to date, is it?

Go to the laptop manufacturers site and download the Wi-Fi drivers directly from them as the problem may have been caused by windows update (driver).

Uninstall the current drivers then re-install using the OEM drivers, turn everything off and back on.

I run a 24/36 on mine and have had no problems with the chain rubbing on the pivot/weld, the chain does come close to the pivot/weld when shifting, but there’s definitely no contact at any point.

Chainset is a 10 speed XT 770 triple with 24/36 and bash, standard chainline (50mm), frame is a 2011 model.
