i honestly think riding it on a full susser ruined it.
it has no flow, its stuttery and cobbled together, there is plenty of stuff on the side

Rode it on my HT and thought the same, except it might have been better on a FS.

Raisinhat – that is where I put the spacer to reduce the travel.
Forks that were on the bike where Fox32 150s.
Now as I’ve only reduced by 10mm it may be that I am wrong & travel reduction has also reduced a/c height so I’ll measure as is then remove & measure again.

Well you can’t reduce travel without reducing the a to c. Agree with all the above, running a pair of 2009 36s at 150mm.

I didn’t call, I just sent it back with a nice letter.

I actually went through the trouble of Emailing them first, will be trying your approach in future.

That only happens to mincers that drag the rear brake and over heat the rotor.

    😀

Send it back to hope and ask nicely to have it tightened. They turn it around really quickly

Funny that as when I contacted them with the same issue they said they couldn’t do anything about it.

Fixed them myself with a large fire poker, a socket to support the rear of rivet and big hammer.

They did the exact same thing with their 780 shifters, couldn’t get hold of blanking plate for weeks.

Try E mailing Rose, that’s not how I got hold of 780 blanking plates.

Shimanos German distributors where surprisingly helpful, they actually responded to my email and provided the part numbers and referred me to Rose, can’t remember their name though.

Debonair, Corset and Fox evols are the same, all require more initial pressure due to the large negative spring, looks like those sort of pressures will become the norm.

me and many friends have big problems with cables snapping on xo and x9 mechs. but we are destroying them in the whistler bike park every day. but at least once a week i snap them in exactly the same place.

    This.

Badly designed cable routing, and apparently they spend huge sums of money on development, strange how they managed to miss this!

Make sure you pack a spare inner.

Have run an SLX 36t middle on my 770 now on a stronglight 34t there have been no issues with either of these rings.

Just checked and neither of my 770 cranks ( 9 and 10 speed) have a shoulder, see no reason why it wouldn’t fit.

Doubt you’ll notice any difference between your “ancient” XT and the latest XT, if I were upgrading to 10 speed they’d be the last thing I’d buy.

Shifters, chain, cassette, front and rear mech, then chainset IF it’s necessary.

Yes it’s always easy until it isn’t, then you will wish you had the pliers.

Can sometimes be fiddly, can sometimes be easy, but not squeezing the plates together will make it very difficult, I do wonder how many don’t squeeze the side plates together.

Sorry but it’s the owners responsibility to check every thing is tight prior to a ride, not the shops.

Things come loose, could be the brakes next time, who’s fault would that be?

The XT pistons are ceramic so dissipate heat faster..

Should also be pretty resitant to corrosion as well.

    Any different to m785s?

Narrower bar clamp, better modulation (more linear) due to re-profiled cam and fixed issue with sticky levers.

Might be because it’s new then, as long as it doesn’t feel tight/nothchy when you spin it by hand?

EDIT: I have a one word reply from him. It reads simply “idiot”

Based on your previous actions it would be difficult to argue otherwise.

I have a 26″ 2.5 super tacky and it says ST super tacky on the tyre wall.

There should be a part number on the packaging (starts with TBxxxx), look it up in the Maxxis catalogue.

Yes, but its worth noting that some of the much older Shimano (pre HT2) granny rings may require the tabs to be filed down in order to clear the bb shell but its unlikely you’ll come across these now.

Give it a tap if it sounds hollow compared to the rest then its delaminated.

Apparently much easier to repair than people think.

Been using 10 speed shimano chain with 9 speed shimano rings for the last couple of years, no issues to report, shifting no different to original 10 speed rings.

Why voluntary in caps, you seem to be suggesting that its fine to ignore it because it’s ‘VOLUNTARY’, that’s how it comes across?

Flat out runs at whatever time of day are going to cause issues if the paths are busy with walkers.

Zero consideration shown to walkers in that video, I dont believe for a second that they where all locals chearing him on.

hmm interesting. have you compared it to a modern linkage bike?

In the 32 ring the older models pedal as well as anything and better than many ‘modern linkage’ bikes, have a look at the anti squat figures on linkagedesign, no reason to think much has changed on that front.

Bit of a long shot but is the chain on the right way round, some Shimano are directional?

Sounds like a burst bladder, does the rebound adjustment have any effect?

You have a 2 year warranty with Rockshox, hopefully it hasn’t ran out.

Unfortunately there’s only one way to find out and that’s to take them apart and see if there’s a spacer in there, some OEM forks are fixed and can’t be extended.

I believe they did away with all travel spacers in 2013 so you might be lucky.

In an open bath system the oil is free to slosh about, the same oil that’s responsable for damping is responsable for lubricating the lower leg bushes. The main disadvatage of open bath is that the oil is prone to cavitation/airation which can cause inconsistant damping.

Sealed damping systems like Rockshox Charger/Fox Fit use a rubber bladder to contain the damping oil, this prevents the oil from becoming airated/cavitated and in theory should provide more consistant damping. It also means that a specific lube can be employed to keep the bushes running smoothly ie Fox 20.

    Hope this helps

If you just want a quick blast you could do a loop out of spike island and wigg island.

There’s also “The pines” next to Darebury labs, there’s a few jumps and drops in there if thats your bag.

P.S. You could use it spring side as a lower leg lube, damping side will be Fox green, assuming yours are open bath.

The new seals are compatible with Fox 20wt, the old ones aren’t.

Fox 20wt is only suitable for lower leg lubrication in FIT equipped forks and is not suitable for open bath damping.

For Fox open bath and Fit cartridges, use Fox 10wt green.

I run Fox 36s at 150mm on my 20011 Orange Five and for general use I wouldn’t go any longer although if I where heading to the alps /antur I’d happily run them at 160. 150mm Pikes are around 5mm shorter (a to c) and wouldn’t be far off perfect, imo.
