Me and a mate were mucking around on some waste ground, aged around 12-13 years old and we found some sort of shelter, thought it would be glue sniffers only to discover a naked bald fat man who asked us to join him whilst he was (adjusting himself) .. We politely declined his offer and retreated then we went for a “shock and awe” style of barrage using stone’s bricks and bottles.

I once bumped into the mojo fella at FOD, he was **** arrogant and rude.

I’ve met Chris P a few times out riding, and he’s always been golden last time was this summer on some sneaky Monmouth trails.

My cardiologist said no more competitive cycling and try and keep bpm below 130, still peaked it at 173 doing twrch and Cafell today and being a bit slow only managed 26mph downhill on Twrch, being lazy only burnt 1418 calories also.

Should of stayed on the sofa with a massive Toblerone gazing at my navel

I’ve a xc racing snake mate who is a similar age but much fitter than me for a obvious reasons.

He race’s over in isle of man predominantly, first time I ever took my ebike out he was over for the wentwood 50. So we did a warm up ride around Cwmcarn the day before, he couldn’t touch me up or down he was on a trick carbon cube 29er hardtail and he was at his very top limit on his hrm.

I was thrashing myself also but nowt compared to him.

In short a fairly decent ebike (trek powerfly 9 lt) with a decent rider is pretty quick, however Rowan Sorrell has the same bike as me and he’s quicker again, there’s always a bigger fish kinda thing.

I offer to push knackered rider’s up fire road climbs and often lend it out so people who haven’t tried one know what they are like to ride, I still hit around 170-180bpm on it usually absolutely flying up or down.

I’ve been riding since 92 in and around south wales and had a heart attack whilst mountain biking at bpw about 2.5 years ago, at the age of 42 due to an undiagnosed genetic condition.

I bought one as I struggled with hills both before and after, how was I to know my liver was slinging loads of rubbish cholesterol into my system furring everything up, since birth I wasn’t overweight and rode regularly. Infact 3 months after my heart attack I was in Morzine smashing runs for 2 weeks I’d happily follow you downhill and see how we get on

I like spiders myself and I pick them up with my bare hands to try and stem the stupid with my twin 9yr old daughter’s, it kinda works got chased by about 10 European hornets (Google em) today though whilst working they can **** right off.

I’ve turned off the individual IR lamps on the main cameras and im using an invisible IR flood light for main areas, keeps the spiders down.

Good point about the what’s the point of chains, but I’m only speaking from an experience of a dh racer mate who was targeted twice to the tune of 20k, his response was physical security new beefed up garage door and chains and locks.

I chemically bonded an anchor into his garage floor and he used a pragmasis chain,on the 2nd theft they were still there the bike’s however weren’t,just some filings

I use a second hand gaming PC, 120 quid off Gumtree and a hotchpotch of 5 different ip cameras some cheap, some not!

I use sighthound cctv software you can set up lots of filters and rules and have the PC running through an old amp and speakers in the garage, so I can use it for Spotify and Amazon movies etc while on the turbo trainer.

And when it’s not being used for that it shouts at people, it used play the phoenix nights car alarm (Get back you b@stard I’ll break your legs!) but changed after a while.

I have zones on my cctv, and if anyone loiters for more than a few seconds around my vehicle or garage after 11pm till 7am it shouts at them, and tells them they are being filmed, enough to wake up the missus.

All of the above, security needs to be multi layered, and big chains are great, but they tend to cut straight through your frames with a hacksaw.
Secure any useful tool’s within your garage ie don’t leave hacksaws or croppers, grinders pry bar’s etc where they can be used against your property.

The old dragon course ran from where the current uplift drops You off pretty much where everyone has a pee in the trees, before descending and roughly follows the raven walking trail, it was steep loamy and slippery.
