Same with mine – looks like they’ve been taken off a bike that’s been rolled around in the shop a bit as they’ve got some dirt and grit on, but definitely unridden, so for the price that’s fine with me! Cheers for the PSA!

    Arrived already, thanks very much!

Thanks for all the input! The Sonder looks decent, but it’s Rival rather than Force, and seems to be cable Tektro brakes looking at the spec, all for £50 more than the PX. Have also seen the EC130, but that’s again £100 more for the Force option, and think I’d prefer something a bit more all round over aero. Other options being Shimano pretty much rule them out for me unfortunately… So that’s the PX pre-ordered!

Does seem to be a quite a price increase/spec decrease now it’s been mentioned – remember looking for my first road bike probably 7 or 8 years ago and sure it wasn’t much more than £1000 for something with full 105…

I wish I could get on with Shimano, I can see it’s much better value and there’d be a lot more choice, but the brake lever shifting just doesn’t quite work for me. The SRAM Force on both my gravel and previous road bike has been flawless too, so other than the lack of availability there’s not really anything to put me off it…

Looks like the PX wins by default then! At least the few mentions of it have been positive! Any thoughts on sizing for those of you with one? At 5’10” the sizing puts me right between M and L – geometry on my last road bike was very similar to the medium and felt great, so pretty sure that’s the size to go for…

Don’t post much, but this is enough to make me come out of hiding for a few pairs please!

Just moved to Leigh so would be interested in from the door rides too. Seems to be plenty of canals and paths around, but all pretty flat! More gravel bike suited than MTB…

Not sure how they’ll fit a Reverb, but I got those Screwfix ones for servicing my Pike and they seem pretty solid.

Had two sets of wheels (road and mtb) built up with my own hubs and rims by Paul Hewitt and they’ve been solid.

B-screw not wound in enough? So the top jockey wheel isn’t clearing the bigger cogs properly. If that makes sense?

I thought the Park Tool guy was alright until I saw him making a mess of installing the wipers at about 3:40 in this video: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/tech-talks-fork-wiper-seal-replacement-presented-by-park-tool-video.html :|

As for YouTube stuff, the SRAM service videos are very good.

5’10” Spirfire owner on a large with a 35mm stem, fits great. Sat on a medium and it felt tiny!

Little tip I find works for tubeless: Tape the rims then stick a tube in and inflate it pretty hard, then leave for a few hours/overnight to make sure the tape’s properly stuck down. Haven’t had any problems that way. Think I used two wraps of 25mm tesa tape for these.

As for the wheels themselves, they’ve been rock solid for me – Use my cross/gravel bike on mtb trails fairly often, which ends up banging the rims quite a bit, and they haven’t even slightly gone out of true. Very pleased with ’em.

Think you’d need to change the hose too, as the fitting’s different on the new caliper, but as far as I know the lever hasn’t changed so don’t see why you couldn’t swap.

Another option. Half way between the DT and RS price wise, and I think the best damper of the three… Probably better for parts/servicing than the DT too.

Doing the same sort of thing myself at the moment! Doesn’t seem anything better value than the Easton Hopes – even if the rims are crap I’ll still have a good set of hubs I can rebuild.

Can’t find much on the DT forks either, but what I can find seems to be fairly positive… And they’re cheap!

I haven’t been down in probably about a year, but even then it was mostly just massive wheel swallowing ruts around the middle. It’s a good challenge going up though!

The half lapper may be me… But if it is it’s actually an EXTRA half lap – somehow managed to miss a turn not far before the end of the first lap (just after the twisty drop through the trees) and ended up doing half of it again!

I’m no threat to the pointy end though so it wouldn’t make much difference either way.

I’ve got a Bish Bash Bosh and I love it! Couldn’t find anything else that came close to the spec for the price, and it’s surprisingly good off road – barely used my MTB since I got it, and am getting top tens and KOMs all over the place (because we all know that’s what really matters :D ). Depending on what you’re using it for you might want to get a smaller chainring – comes with a 42t, but I find 40 is about right for me, might even consider 38 if I was doing CX races, but that’s easy enough to change.

I have Spyres on my road bike and they work really well, but Force hydros (and the hood shape) are definitely better. Full length mudguards are a revelation too!

On-One CS isn’t the best, but I find you tend to get a better response if you phone rather than email.

No experience of the normal Minions, but just got a WT DHF. On a 30mm internal rim it looks to be just about the same size (maybe a tiiiny bit smaller) as a 2.35″ Hans Dampf. If that helps at all.

Only had one ride on it so far, but I’m already impressed with the cornering grip and seems to roll surprisingly well too!

Yeah I think screen timeout has to be set to always on for the brightness to auto adjust itself.

The lever position is adjustable – the black bolt underneath I think – maybe that’s just come a bit loose and needs tightening up?

Same height and inside leg as you – I’ve just got a Switchback in 18″ long, which feels great. Looking at the geo, If I was going for a Slackline it’d definitely be the 18″. Would probably even prefer the length of the 19.5″ if the seat tube was a bit shorter.

My knowledge of HTN is derived mostly from the names of Strava segments I’ve come across… But I ride around Drinkwater way all the time so am in!

I know it’s not quite the same thing, but how does this compare to Squirt? Everyone seems to love that but I just found in clagged up yet still washed off easily.

Putoline looks like something fun to mess with, and a bonus if I don’t have to relube a manky drivetrain every ride!

Sizing’s a bit weird – I went up a size and the waist is a bit loose even cinched up, but still quite snug around the balls/arse! So definitely go up a size, maybe even two. Material’s not too thick and they seem to keep me dry enough though. Alright for £20.

I got my bike out of the shed last week after 6 or 7 weeks and my stealth post was sagging, probably 5-10mm.
It had been stored in the down position, but after taking it out on a ride and keeping it in the house next to a radiator overnight, the post is now solid again!
Very weird! I thought it was going to be a warranty job, but will keep a close eye on it.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes! Just done pretty much the same thing – bike’s been sitting in the shed unridden for a couple of months, brought it in the house and noticed there was a bit of squish that wasn’t there before, and after a day inside the post’s solid again…

Mine’s probably 6 months+ out of warranty though (and I haven’t had any problems with it to be fair), so am hoping it stays ok!

Just been through the same thing myself! Requirements being something that takes a 150mm fork, threaded BB, 142×12 and steel. Got a Switchback arriving tomorrow…

BFe was close, but went for the slightly slacker Switchback.

Edit: On-One DeeDar looks alright if you want a cheaper option. Seat tube was a bit longer than I’d like though.

I think Schwalbe come up a bit bigger than Maxxis, but if there’s loads of room that should be fine. Cheers!

Any thoughts on sizing? My FS is 615mm ETT and about 450 mm reach. DeeDar’s slightly longer in the ETT and slightly shorter reach. At 5’10” I’m leaning towards large with a 35mm stem. Seat tube should JUST about be short enough for me to fit my reverb…

Been looking at steel hardtail frames to transfer my FS bits to for the crappier months, and the DeeDar’s caught my eye… Looks alright for the money!

Anyone know what tyre clearance is like? 2.35″ Schwalbes on 35mm rims come up pretty fat.

Plenty for me to look at, thanks!

Never had a bottle bounce out until I got some Camelback bottles then had both bounce out.

Won’t be getting Camelback bottles again.

But Camelbak nozzles are so much better than the usual pull with your teeth type!

Anyone got photos of their frame misalignment? Been in contact with Ison who say my frame doesn’t appear to be out of line – and I’m sure they know more about it than I do – but I just don’t see how the shock wear I have can happen through normal use…

They’ve said I can send it back for them to have a proper look (when I can get a box big enough!), just interested in others’ experiences in the meantime.

Got some from Rutland myself a while ago – seem really nice quality, but even going up to an XL (usually M) they were way too tight on the thighs, despite there being plenty of room in the waist. So back they went!

Noticed the same thing on the shaft of the Inline on my 2015 Spitfire the other week – Contacted TF, who again mentioned the misaligned frame issue. Seems to be a somewhat common problem with Spitfires after looking into it…

Currently waiting on a reply from Ison who have forwarded the details to Banshee… Might be worth emailing Ison/Banshee yourself.

I’m currently running a 40c Nano on the front and 35c Cross Boss rear (only cos a Nano won’t fit!). Working well so far…
