Carbon is one of those materials that mean a bit of £ to get a job done.

Was looking at a place in Bristol that wanted £400 for a full carbon frame respray.

I store mine wheels on the floor and once a week leave the one with Fox forks upside down for a few nights.

Enjoy the trails this weekend peeps as they are riding really well.

All routes clear but be aware you may run into horses on the Shrine trail like I did earlier. Looks like they have taken a fancy to some of the course.

Also hi to the two guys who I scared the cr@p out of on the racetrack climb.

    Nope, never look there 😡

I do wonder what the point of this event is as I would love to do it, but am riding in the 24 hour race. Surely this is going to make for a big mess on the roads on the way out on the Sunday afternoon?

Just ordered all my P7 bits. £44 for P7, 2 sets of batteries, charger, all the plug adaptors and bar mount. We shall see in 14+ days if it was worth it!

99% of my riding is on my todd, but I do get an occasional ride with a mate. I find it easier and less hassle waiting for another party.

How does it feel when you ride it?

tang, a friend lost a small topeak flashing one that attaches to his seatpost with what looks like a rubber band.

Was in the woods tonight and it is so much fun. Wake up every morning praying that it stays dry. This weekend I think the trails will be packed!

Think I will take my 4X bike up for some Shrine dirt jumping.

Been told to only do 20 mile rides max with my legs being as tight as they are so sadly I will not be there. Shame as my new Merida FLX3500D was going to be ridden for the first time there.

Sweet, will do it next year. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 hardest) how hard was it.

If anyone did Merida Marathon Selkirk how did it compare?

mrmo, the bastard climb is easy at the moment. Aggs hill is a slog but doesn't kill.
I can ride from the Kings Headin Upton St Leanords to the car park in the middle of Painswick Beacon in less than 15 minutes.

Portway takes about 9 minutes from the bottom all the way up to the muddy carpark.

Um, average ride of 13.5 miles up from Abbeydale to Painswick beacon, down to Popes wood, over to Cranham corner, through Bluebell wood, down to the dumping car park, over the road, past the steel gate, up to the bomb holes over the road to the to Shrine dips then on to the main Shrine run, back down to the bastard climb, up to the wall back to the beacon and back to Abbeydale is about 1 1/2 hours so average of 7 to 8 mph normally.

Cut an old box up and wrap it round the forks. Make sure the forks are covered in bubble wrap (not too much, then once the cardboard is round them stuff the tube with it.

Ride possition is a big faff isn't it?
They say to put you foot on the pedal in it's normal place, wind the crank round to 3 o'clock then check your knee is directly over the axel of the pedal.

Forgot saddle. Been faffing with mine as I need a different height if I have pro pedal on. I find it causes me more hamstring pain if the saddle is too low and knee pain if too high.

I get the same thing and my sports massage mate said it is a common problem with clip ins. But it may not always be down to the clips.

I have been told I have the tightest hamstrings he has ever had to deal with and this is causing no end of inner and outer knee pains. And with that it is starting to affect my back.

As you will know, if your cleats are not set up correctly for your feet you will get some discomfort. Sometimes on the outside of the foot but this can really play havoc with knees.

Do you have a good stretch before riding and are your cleats ofset correctly for each foot?

Yeah, lower sections of the Shrine have got very peaty and is a little loose!

The more light the better. Looks amazing and cant wait for the 1000 lumens to be ready for sale.

I would rather see everything and make it home safely than hit a fallen tree or root and end up struggling on the trail.

And worse case, carry a cardboard cut out of a bat and you can call for assistance from batman!

It was lovely and quiet up there at 4pm this afternoon.

Not any signs of JB and the trail is running really fast.

May tempt fate and put the dry fast rollers on for a week or so.

Doh, my bad, you are right. Just realised that. Get that tight first then do the other side.

Drive side is the side with the plastic/rubber cone cover!

I am pretty sure that you leave the drive side till last.

I have a how to guide infront of me fromt MBR and it does say to make sure the free hub side is in place before doing up the drive side.

You sure you are tightening the cones and the locking nuts against each other? Rather than doing both up in the same direction?

I wasn't having a go or trying to wind people up. Just wanted to know how much cash i need to put by in this months paypacket for a complete kit for when they are ready.

Just got in and it was lovely.

There was signs of a blockage near the bottom of the shrine on the switch back before the second mound (very peaty under foot) but it had been moved.

    Loved it.

Saw JB in the woods on Sunday morning with his wife and they both looked suspicious.

Who took the roof tacks out of the sign?

Are we going to see a full kit price posted?

Fully built light, with bar and helmet mount
    complete with battery and charger.

Basically one complete package like most manufactureres offer as standard.

I for one am not happy doing my own build and don't trust that I will select the right charger, battery or connector.

And I bet I am not the only one!
