I been riding the ones around Kenworhty woods, there is a proper grom grade jump line and a nicer bit of flowy single track on the side of the hill that backs onto the big substation. I rode there a few years back and there was way more in the way of single track, mostly from winter CX boys and the midweek madness XC series that hold a race there each year. Think I seen some other riders out there this week, am rolling round on a Ragley with my lad on a Comm kids bike. I have been meaning to take my hand saw up and clear some more of the trails out, you can string an OK loop together.

The other bit is on the Chorlton side of Jacksons Boat but when I went for a ride around there last week its basically full of used condoms and lube (read into that what you will). Its a shame cause it used to be quite twisty and fun.

Other than that there is a small hill at the stretford end of Chorlton Water park that had loads of CX tracks cut into it. I tried to ride these earlier this week and the brambles have taken over, although the trails are still sort of there. Again may clear them if I get 5. If you have a rummage on strava segment search and their heat map function you can probably work a lot of them out

Would be really useful if someone did a map actually, then we can all focus on riding the trails and bedding them in

I think its a nice idea to think everyone will listen and politely only record legal trails. But they wouldnt, and it only takes one or two to show the rest of us the way as it were.

I also think the whole ownership of illegal trails (lets call them by their proper name!) is a moot point. Just because you spend hours / days dragging a rake over someone elses land doesnt mean you are any more entitled to ride it than the next person. Yea its not fair but thems the breaks! Stuff like Strava makes it easier for others but we live in an inter connected world and cant really avoid it!

I got a family, night lights are £27 on amazon (admittedly they will probably burn my house down). I make sure Mrs Digmcr gets chance to do her thing as much as I do and basically got over going out late and being knackered at work the next day. I think I am fitter now than before kids as a result! I went throu a period of not riding and became utterly miserable and probably slightly depressed. If all you see is work and home for 6 years it’s enough to wear any brother or sister down! Basically decided to make it work

If you really wanna ride your bike you find a way, even if it’s a pants run around some flat local woods, you never regret going out once you get out

Here’s the trails map taken from the manchester council planning portal

    http://www.publicaccess.manchester.gov.uk/associateddocs/selecteddoc.aspx?100329-dpp-0009.pdf

This is the planning application, there are loads of plans and info on there to waste a lunch going over, they may have changed slightly since submission but it gives a good overview
