How is he a c0ck? He’s getting paid to do something that he obviously loves. He’s clever. I’d certainly swap a life in the office to get paid what he does doing what he’s doing – seeing the world without the tacky tourist side of things. Doesnt really strike me as a c0ck!

Thanks for all the replies. I was hoping to come across a 2008 model lurking in the depths of the internet somewhere, but to no avail! The dolce seems to get good write ups and have had recommendations from other people about these.

mrsflash – do you not have any problems reaching brake levers etc with it not being a ladies bike? Am i right in thinking that this is one of the areas where it is notably different from a ladies specific bike?

well if you buy one, do I get discount when I come and stay, for naming the place? Cant recommend them enough there – the bothies are excellent value for 3 or 4 nights and really cosy in winter.

There are different qualities out there – probably cheaper places than that as well, but I can vouch for it being excellent! Especially when put on using a hair drier.

Ive also got the recon races. I do have a little bit of play – nothing im worried about though. I do have a swishing noise though when I pull up on the forks. Apparently its the oil inside doing its job?!

peterpoddy – you’re right. I was just intrigued as to whether it was possible after seeing the cable guide in the crown. But for that kinda money, I’m stickign with bending down for now!!

Thats reassuring to know then. It did only make a noise when I pulled up sharply, so the rebound idea woul dmake sense. Now I’ve just got to address the creaking handlebar-stem join. Im assuming a thin layer or grease is the usual path…….

Ive just had a 3 week long battle with them over broadband problems – basically them sending the router to my old address, despite 3 letters and 7 phone calls informing them we had moved address. I told them I would be sending them my mobile phone bill as well for all the expense involved with ringing them from work on my mobile. Their reply…… “Sorry, we dont refund any mobile phone calls”. I told them to expect it in the post this week.
    Complete bunch of wasters.

I certainly had a number of moments when I couldnt find a toilet quick enough due to poor hygiene! Your stomach does become accustomed though. And I would go back tomorrow if I could!!

I’ve been making sure that after gym sessions and long rides I’m consuming a recovery/protein drink to try and aid recovery of aching muscles etc, and I also eat pasta or similarly high carb based meals after a weekends riding, yet still end up hungry, primarily just before bed! Maybe I need to take a review of my current diet and incorporate carbohydrates at lunchtime?

We did Nepal as well and had no problems. Although on return to the UK, the bugs we picked up in India persisted to give us havoc for months afterwards!! It is worth it though – like fontmoss says.

Just take rehydration sachets. We managed to get hold of a really broad spec anti biotic before we went as well which we used to “self prescribe”. It did work, although to call a Dr out is cheap. We paid 8 quid including the medicine. Although one of the Indian Dr’s my mother works with assured me we were well and truly ripped off! That’s kind of the only downside really – the fact that I became very non-trusting of anybody who approaches you in the street. Not how I like to become on a holiday but a bit of a necessary evil really! Wish I was going now….

We did India for two months last year. Was absoloutely amazing. The GF also hated it for the first 2 weeks, but really loved it int he end. We both got REALLY ill with food poisoning – something they say nine out of ten foreign tourists do (although that was in Northern India – southern india seems to be a little better with food hygiene). We hired a motorbike whilst in Goa and drove it all the way down to Kerala way – it is a little hairy, but if you keep your wits about you, you’ll be fine. The idea of a return visit this year for a couple of weeks has already been mentioned……

Sorry for a bit of a hijack, but I’ve been looking at taking on a dog for a while now. Always had dogs in the family, but have now moved away with work. However, the only thing that puts me off is the fact that the dog would be on his/her own all day whilst I am at work. Obviously they’d be getting walked before and after work and would have weekends away etc, but is it not a problem leaving them alone all day in the house when we’re both at work? How do you guys get round this?

    my email is rich656@hotmail.com
Ive tried to put it in my profile but it doesnt seem to be working as before.
Ive weighed the dirtworkers all packaged up on some home scales and it came to around 14 quid when checked with the corresponding costs on royal mail site? Where are you based by the way? Nowhere near I take it?

    dickydutch

As id mentioned on the previous forum, Ive managed to pick up four dirtworkers a couple of weeks back at a price of 40 quid each. I’d said I’m willing to let them go for this price plus the cost of postage. Ive had email contact from two people saying they want one, so at present there is two left. If people want them at this price (£40) I am willing to post them (at cost to the buyer). Otherwise, I’m just outside Hull until tuesday and after that I will be back in Newcastle if people want to collect. Email me if interested.
