Camera is dead easy to solve – just cover it physically…

‘Reasons’ tend to be a guilty conscience as you aren’t actually working…if that is the case, then do more work so you don’t feel so guilty.

Less serious answers, absolutely no idea how you would tell without giving away you are trying to find out, so just assume they are spying, but also assume they are too busy to check unless you give them reason to check i.e. you are much less productive than previously.

Frog bikes are good…I prefer them to Islabikes as Frog use trigger shifters – which seems easier to use with ‘weak’ hands that young kids have.
    Well made, decent price.

The free package gives you almost nothing, but your coach will see everything you upload. The 3 figures that I watched on the paid-for version were hidden on the free version – which proved utterly useless and annoying as I didn’t fancy stumping up £80 for a twice-a-month check to see if the figures were improving as I felt I was improving. Now using intervals.icu which does give the 3 numbers (and is free) – but I don’t tend to use it for anything other than a gauge to confirm how I’m feeling is proving the same as the results suggest.

TrainingPeaks was really good for getting a session plan from the coach to then download to Garmin and then follow it…the whole process was very easy and smooth.

ET as I know it wasn’t real, so was there for the spectacle of a film telling a story.

those items that @mrmo posted about look great, but they aren’t cheap. I’ve a similar type thing from Lifeline (I think) – a very small tool wrap with a chain breaker and a rod that allows various heads to be added. I carry a mech hangar and quicklinks with it and it sorts everthing apart from my cranks on my bike. I tend to also carry tyre levers with quick link pliers and some CO2 canisters. Doesn’t take much space up and covers pretty much everything that I’d be able to have to fix to get home. Cranks are likely to have snapped so unlikely to need 8mm and a torque wrench to refit!

Seems to be taking an absolute age to post new threads or replies again…it did appear to have quickened over the last coupe of weeks, but last 3 days it has gone into an absolute crawl again…

Think mine is a bit odd…I’m a local admin for an area so have Pro for free, when Outside bought it all, I’ve been moved over to a Pro with Outside, but I can’t see any detail on any renewal details, so it appears to be ad infinitum (or until I hand in the admin keys)…

Not yet…apart from the discomfort of the trapped wind, nothing else is sore or uncomfy.
I’m planning on making an appointment today with the doctor to have it checked, but haven’t done it yet – Thursday and Friday was spent sleeping as I didn’t sleep during the night.

Axs for me, absolutely fantastic system. The xt stuff I’ve experienced has a cheese like rear mech cage – can be straightened by hand without much effort.

Unless there is a heat map function you won’t see trails unless they are logged in Trailforks. You may be able to see where others have ridden if they’ve not set their ride to private, but that will only show 1 person’s ride and not a suggestion that there is more there.
Trailforks has had a bit of a clear up of unofficial stuff, but I think it is very dependent on the area.

Anyone in the house use an insulin pump or pacemaker? If so, warn to stay away from the induction hob when it is in use. The magnetic force can upset these devices.

Probably not the place, but do any Bird owners have the water bottle adapter that they don’t use? If so, would you be willing to sell it please?

I find it boring to watch…last 30 seconds of the run might be something but generally, it is boring as it is 1 rider and some shots of bits of the track. I find the xc more interesting as there are fights for positions all along the way – from lead right down to last…seems to be far more interesting to watch. All highly skilled riders (they all have to be to compete at that level – in any discipline), but watching just doesn’t interest me.

Just accept you need to put more effort in to go faster so enjoy the scenery and take more in at the slightly reduced speed?

I really liked Lower Decks but refuse to pay for streaming so I’ve missed a chunk. I watch enough rubbish TV, paying to stream would make me watch even more!

I always have a wee chuckle when I go to Forth Valley hospital – the whole area is a no smoking zone, but right by the main entrance you see patients with their oxygen tanks sitting on the bench smoking…it amuses my odd sense of humour, but as a non-smoker I’m failing to see why they need to do it. I’m sure like any addiction once you are hooked the levels of self-control dwindle.
It would be great if smokers and vapers were a bit more considerate, but I can say that about myself with what I do…very easy to judge others and not myself.
The more control forced on people the more they will rebel, but smoking/vaping is definitely something I’d happily do an outright ban on (but I would also ensure better support to quit is available as well).

Spond is good but I didn’t do the initial setup. It is free, but they take a cut from any fees collected through it.
Got StackTeam and Heja for rugby as a parent…I prefer Spond.

Ah, I’ve clearly missed the boat on this as I thought I saw an article on BBC News last week about it and thought last night was the first episode (having missed the first 10 minutes of it). I’m going to have to go watch all of it.

It was really good tv – good to see professionals taking a real genuine interest in helping others progress – and also great to see the difference in them. I’ve only watched that last episode but the last game with the player being the captain – he looked like he was loving it and really seemed to be encouraging the team to play their best. He sounded like he had a very mature outlook as well as captain.

I’ll hopefully find the rest of it and manage to watch it all. I’d hope these skills they are learning and using will remain with them.

Absolutely – and is it needed in Dunblane?  Afterall the evidence is that Dunblane currently has the capability to turn out top level tennis players.  Classic survivor bias – reinforce the area that did OK anyway and ignore the bits that are dismal.

Think we are in agreement that this needs done everywhere  and for every sport (which isn’t easy, cheap and is very resource intensive – venues, time and people).

Aye, sorry, my comment about him doing very well for himself wasn’t all around whatever money he has made – he is an olympic medal winner and won many tennis competitions – he has been a very very good tennis player (still is)…that doesn’t come without time and effort in bucketloads – and will be supported by parents/coaches, etc. I guess there is a strong argument to suggest that more is needed to support the development of more players – but that can be said for all sports.

However, we had the Tennis centre at Stirling Uni which had better transport links – although apparently the report on that has said it has failed and the Tennis people are moving the Tennis centre back down south – which probably doesn’t help the new tennis academy/centre/whatever at Park of Keir.

Like @devash – I have 1 bike and I don’t see the real benefit of hot waxing as I’ve been using Squirt for almost 12 years and it works very well for me. I don’t see the issue with having to allow the lube to fully dry before riding – I give the bike a wash after a dirty ride, give myself a wash and by the time I’m all sorted, the chain has dried so I apply the lube and the bike gets stored…it is dry before the next morning so all good.

I’ve only ever had 1 episode of a dry chain, I don’t lube frequently – maybe every 3 or 4 weeks – so I’m very happy with it all. Hot water seems to clean the chain up easily and a brush over the chainring seems to sort any dried lumps without any hassle.

Hot waxing sounds like a good idea, but there seems to be a load of kit needed and it seems to take time (waiting for the wax to warm up and then dunk) – I suspect I could have had the bike washed and the chain already drying before it gets to the stage where the chain can be dunked. For my use, it seems like a waste of time when Squirt seems to work so well for me.

I think the 9-hole course became a 7-hole course as they wanted to build some more expensive houses – which surely was enough evidence that the sports parts was just a front and the idea really wasn’t valid from the start…

Something should be done for Andy (he has done very well for himself and his mum has done very well out of him)…but they could do something at Cromlix house (which they own) and then they’d have a bit more control over it.

Do Uberbrakes not do a next day delivery? Might have a better experience with those as they are more likely to be known…

It is brilliant news…just need all the other development bits to follow suit now. Absolutely no idea why building on green belt was even contemplated. Redevelop existing spaces that needs pulled down and rebuilt, but don’t put a massively overpriced development in green belt and expect it to sail through.
I wonder if anyone has considered taking over the old Debenhams area in the Thistle Centre for this tennis thing? Plenty space for courts, accessible parking and great transport links pretty much to the door – bike, car, bus and train…

There is a large list of options that can be used for this and the price range can be from about £50 up to a serious amount of money. Depends on what kind of features you want to use…the more features the pricier it is likely to be.

Garmin tend to be reliable and are well known, but there are plenty others around that do the same thing. If you are already bought into the Garmin family, then I’d start having a look at that and see what you fancy. Touchscreen or not; mapping or not, etc. there will be at least 1 unit that matches your requirements (and most likely multiple options).

Wahoo seems to be having a sale just now, so you might get a bargain there…

Do you want a bike unit or would a watch work for you?

Matt, your Osprey link takes me to a Thule backpack…which I think aren’t made by Osprey?

The Forclaz looks like it has a few extra compartments which are probably handy to have…the Osprey that @Kramer links to also looks good in terms of space, but doesn’t look as handy for storage compartments.

I have discovered that as I’ve gotten older, my ‘few days away’ bag needs to get bigger – I seem to have a larger pile of medications (which my partner insists I double up ‘just in case’!)…looking at those bag choices, they all look like good options, but I suspect my 3 or 4 days kit would have them absolutely stuffed! When did I go so soft???

It is a scripted comedy show dressed up with cars. Easy enough to watch and laugh at the predictability of it all.

From memory, you find the sensor on the Garmin device and configure it there. I had to do that on my rear mech for the cassette.
Suspect it should be the same thing although, you must have connected a front mech for it to think you are running a double?

The avocados on this particular tree aren’t ready to be picked yet…they are still healthily growing. The signs with the brown circle instead of the green heart signify that they are ready to be plucked (or plugged as the workers call it).

Second recommendation for Uberbrake…my go to as the pads work well, last a decent length of time and are a good price.
Been using the ebike (blue) pads and I think they are better than the race matrix (white) ones which I found to be the best…so the ebike ones seem to now be my go to pad of choice.
