Hi mick, I’m new on here but that was such a great thread. Both me and the mrs was grinning like idiots when we got to the picture of the lad on his bike. It’s great that people still like to help others as a selfless action. Fair play and a job well done. It would be nice to know that theres still people like you out there. 😀

I was hoping to go early sunday, (from wolverhampton so not far) but could be off. Fingers crossed for a thaw. A friend of mine is from cannock and they copped the worst of the snow.

My rubber queen non ust went straight up too with a track pump on bonty skinny rims, but as previous person said, very porous walls and you could see it bubbling away. Be generous with the stans fluid (1.5 scoops high volume) and a bit of shaking about and you should nail it. They’re more reluctant to “pop” than the rq. Mines held their pressure for over a week now without any loss.

I’ve got a ghetto tl conversion on my bonty rims. And I’m running a 2.4 mk on rear and a 2.2 rubber queen on the front. Both wire bead and both went up off track pump with ease. But from what you said about using a sliced tube I’m guessing the lack of non removable valve core is restricting any kind of mass air flow. Afaik wire beads are best for ghetto tl. But could be wrong.

Fingers crossed getting over there next weekend. Parental duties (and man flu) this weekend prevent playtime 😥

I bought my mtb from the wolverhampton store and they were awesome. I’ve had a few teething problems with it since october and each time I rang them they said bring it straight in. when my caliper seal went they had it same day and because it was a warranty job they kept it for about 10 days. But they phoned me when the part came into store and said it would be ready in half hour or so. They get my money every time for their excellent customer service. They go beyond their duties. The staff are all xc and dh riders themselves so advice is good too.

Shindiggy, so depending on popularity of the trail would there be any chance of them extending it? Might have to go and have a nosey at it soon.

It’s about the same traveling time away for me as cannock (about 25 mins) so was hoping it was me. Shame it’s not a bit longer (like 3 times as) but I guess it’s better than nothing.

Check hayes website. I got a set of dyno sport as standard on my ex 5 and the seals on the front failed after about 10 rides. The lbs sent them away I got them back just over a week and half late no fuss. But whilst I was waiting I looked on the website to see that they got a lifetime leakproof warranty.
