I did with my daughter. But my son was 7 when he learnt with normal stabilisers, then about 4 weeks later my daughter did it straight off at the age of 3.5 😀

apologies as neither of them have beards but both ride ss.

taken today after they cycled a mile to the park first then after riding round it playing then they cycled back.

    Ftw 🙂 *proud dad*

    “sarcasm” me? Never….

sarcasm? (Asked in the obligatory Sheldon big bang theory voice)

edit: next you’ll be telling us there’s a sale on at DFS. Then I’ll be shocked. 😀

But reading between the lines you’re just looking for an excuse to buy a clutch mech, so… they’re not worth it – get a new mech!

^^^^ This!!! 🙂 end of thread.

You put your forks on backwards? That’s where you went wrong. 🙂

edit: nice build btw. Nice colour check, valve and logo alignment. … check she’s good to go with no imminent death. 😀

I’m think balls to it and getting the cans of beer out the fridge

    Sounds like a good compromise.

I think I answered my own dilemma. 🙂

Tbf where I live it’s not the best to ride from here. (Built up area for quite a way. The decent stuff is a fair ride away and by the time I get there up be too knackered to ride the funky stuff.

The only place in rising distance will be full of kids and dog walkers so not a option either.

Me too…. I thought I was the only one daft enough to layer up on top but I do it too Wick the sweat away from my eyes too. I do the “turn it inside out then pull it through itself” trick to turn it into a bandanna.

When I stop for a rest I move the wet front bit too somewhere else and have a dry bit at the front. Good to carry on. 😀

I’ve shared this thread with my Mrs (a mums netter) and she thought it was hilarious. But as for freedom in the country. … Since when have we turned into China ffs?

He said: ‘I was filling up and then I saw the car coming towards me

I bet the fuel in it alone was worth more than the corsa. Also who paid for the fuel drawn at the pump? 😀

I’ve voted as I’m tempted. Sounds like a laugh. And the Thursday suits me as I don’t have work on Friday so no 3am starts next day. Ftw!

Lock them all together in your car and cover with a large throw/blanket and tint the windows out. or buy a van (mot failure) and sorn it.

Charge starts at the ground and goes UP which is why rubber insulates you

me and the Mrs just said the same thing before reading this. So +2 from here. 🙂

reason. It’s by the tennis courts in memorial park. Email me and I’ll tell you somewhere cheeky to ride

Edit: they disapprove of “cheeky” rides through the tesco at Pembroke. You could probably have a go at dodging some tank fire at Castlemartin nr (stackrocks I think). Or buy a fatty and ride the beaches.

Haven’t I read on here before about some trails nr canaston Bridge which iirc is in between oakwood and the tenpin bowling place?

Tow racks are great but the £300 to fit the bar plus the rack put me off this time round.

sure but when you’re carrying £xxxx worth of bikes then surely a £300 investment is small. You wouldn’t think twice if it was hubs for your bike. I do plan to get a towbar mounted rack and I do have a boot mounted one which I only used a couple of times about 14 yrs ago and didn’t like how unsecure it was. Plus what would the fine be if caught loosing your bikes and pen points. Mine goes in the car until I can afford the towbar option as I don’t fancy the risk.

I believe the cops can charge you with indecent exposure and lewd conduct for having a rack off in the street. 😀 igmc!

Bugger is that where they went, got all the way to whinlatter, and annoyingly paid for a car park ticket before I noticedTalk about a waste of £7, couldn’t even ride !

Someone probably did that tbh. Joking aside. 🙂

780 Blackspire here. Which coincidently is the same as the gap between some of the trees at cannock. They’re good at collecting bark under the end caps. 😀 but love the width. So much more stability and control and less twitchy.

Get the fatty. I’m a stw expert too. I’ve neither ridden a cx or a fatty but the fatty is the funkier option. What’s the point in carrying you bike over technical stuff when you can cruise over it on your fatty and look cool at the same time. Not sure if you need a beard to ride one tho. It may be part of the warranty. 🙂

samuri – MemberIt’s the new niche, no-wheeling. There is no other experience like it, it really makes you feel at one with the trail, man.

surely it would just be a Plough? Saying that. … Have you seen some of the brake bumps at cannock? I’m guessing that person has been round there with no wheels too. 😀

I’m not clued up on consumer law but shouldn’t a fix or replacement be offered and dealt with in a reasonable amount of time?

To me a reasonable amount of time for that problem I would accept no more than a week.

If there is a cycle Lane or cycle box I stay out in any vehicle I’m driving. If I have overtaken a cyclist and there is no cycle Lane I close the gap between my vehicle and the kerb. Not out of ignorance but for their safety. If there is no gap they can’t sneak into my blind spot.

If I overtake a cyclist I give them at least 4′ of clearance so even when overtaking they are still visible to me for most of the manoeuvre thus protecting us both. Rather than the 4mm given to me by a learner last night on the dual carriageway. (yes I know learners have to start somewhere but it was with a credited driving school and the instructors responsibility)

As for lorry bans in the city if they can only go in and out at certain times means that there must still be people in them areas to accept them deliveries so it’s Ok for the people who have to work late to get squished?

Also the tipper lorry scenario. .. Obviously delivering to a building site. If you lived next door to that sore would you be happy about building works all through the night?
As for presuming cyclists undertaking I see it day in day out so my initial point still stands.

For balance (puts on flame suit) and both a person that commutes to and from work by bike along a busy dual carriageway them get to work I then drive a 44tonne truck do I see both sides of the argument.

But as for banning large vehicles from busy areas at certain times is a stupid idea. I cycle to work and I know a lorry or van can’t see me so I stay well begins at the lights as i’ve got more brains than to put myself at danger.

If saving yourself 30 seconds by skipping up on the inside of a large or any vehicle then I think you are a contender for a Darwin award.

Fair enough that collision in Cornwall was tragic and I can’t stick up for the driver there but when the cyclist has under taken a large vehicle then it’s the cyclists fault and whatever the outcome is the result of their own idiotic/suicidal decision.

These stories are getting more regular and yet the cyclist is still chancing their lives by still doing it.
A couple of quotes from Here[/url]

“When I sat in the truck with the engine running I couldn’t see or hear any of my friends outside, even when the whole class shouted as loud as they could!”

how big the lorry’s blind spot was by fitting 28 children in it.

I drove the company sprinter van the other day and the blind spot on that was surprising as I couldn’t see a freelander on my nr side.

heed the warnings and stay safe.

It,s a bit of a rough area and I dont want to give any tea leafs ideas.

leave it dirty then. Less desirable and they can’t see what they’re nicking. Also time and effort saved. More time for drinking beer and eating haribo. 🙂 Ftw! 😀

Get the epic Bleed system over the Hayes oem one. I needed one urgently last week and couldn’t wait for delivery (like a impatient idiot) and bought the oem one for roughly the same money. I had problems bleeding it the instructed way as I couldn’t squeeze any fluid up from the bottom (yes the nipple was open) and squeezed that hard the bottle popped apart.

So I had to do it reversed and it was Ok to star with I had a full lever. Went to cannock to test it out a few days later and within 2 mins the lever came back to the bars and I rode with only the front brake. 🙁

Major regrets not going for the epic kit but when I ditch the Hayes dynos that I got I will go for a epic kit as it looks much better quality.

    4lb lump hammer + spanner = success.

My mate wanted some new pedals fitting on his commuter so I wrapped end of pedal arm in tape to protect it and fitted large adjustable spanner on the end of arm then a few sharp whacks and bingo. 🙂 no one died.

I’ve got a 5 and love it. It’s just the cheaper components that let it down. Like the x5 groupset and rockshox sprung forks. But it feels nice for me. If I could of afforded a dearer ex I would of done.

I was in my lbs on Friday and a cube had been sent in for a Creek. It turns out that where the tubes butt up together at the headtube they were rubbing together under stress and the frame is less than 12 mths old so going back under warranty. Oooops. fingers crossed for your bearings bring the issue.

Funny this as I wanted to bleed my brakes for the first time yesterday and needed some abs I tried the local chemists and that was a no and rang around other chemists and no luck there. But luckily my friend who was helping/showing me had some already. So dropped in lucky. But I will visit the bay to buy some for my future diy attempts at bleeding.

Might make a good substitute for vodka too 😆

I usually have to clean mine after every muddy ride, but with the current dust levels not cleaned it in at least a month. Not a obsessive is just that o have to put it inside the car so easier with a clean bike.

I like to look at other bikes but like the one I got abs the look of it. Obviously I want to change some of the cheap oem components and am slowly but the frame I like. And my green wide bars.

I thought the same when I took my x9 t2 out the box and was to scared of forcing it as I seen plenty of pics of broken s+ mechs and didn’t fancy breaking my new kit. But by pure witchcraft and trickery…. boom it worked. 😈
