I was given the runaround by them recently when I purchased a pair of forks. They had obviously messed up and not despatched them but the guy I spoke to on the phone spun me a line. It was obvious he was lying as he kept contradicting himself. Still took a week for the forks to arrive after that. I won’t be going back in a hurry.

It’s a catch 22 situation. What does the shop do with a ‘test soiled’ bike? Would you buy one at full price? I’m sure most people on here would be amazed at how difficult it is to deal with the big suppliers. I had my fingers burned on more than one occasion with customers deciding at the last minute that they didn’t want the bike I’d ordered in especially for them. Needless to say the owner of the shop was not best pleased, as you don’t get stock on a ‘sale or return’ basis. Not every shop has access to demo bikes either. That said, a lot of LBS don’t do themselves any favours when dealing with customers.

What has wearing a helmet got to do with the way you ride? I get the impression that the driver thinks it’s illegal to ride without a helmet on. There seems to be a lot of ignorance generally when it comes to the Highway Code. Bring back the public information films aimed at motorists (anyone else remember ‘Ooh, I’ve been pinched’?)and Augustus Windsock I say!

You’ve got to admit that the cyclists in the photo do look like a bunch of tearaways. I particularly like, ‘I’m not sure what risk a cyclist presents to a horse or cow. I certainly wouldn’t want to run into one, but I suspect it wouldn’t even notice if I did.’
