The trails are fine. Nice and dry up there today.

Challenging – that wood further down the road 😯

Argghh Legend – I tried to call you back but you’d gone down the trail – guessing you couldn’t fix the chain then?

Yes you can. The new cycle path takes you. You will need to join it after the turning for The Hydro as you leave Peebles – next left. Follow it along (Ignore the switchback climb up to the left)and keep going through the tunnel. You will eventually take a left that brings you out at the road opposite the entrance to GT. Suitable for the little one (Get him to ride on the pavement where necessary to get out of town) and your wife.

If you carried on you would get to Inners

The switchback climb to the left I mentioned ^ is Janet’s Brae – that is a climb that takes you to the top car park at GT – FYI

Drive to the top car park at GT and do the green/skills/freeride area – great for the 7 year old – don’t forget Berm Baby Berm.

Cycle path from Inners to Peebles for a pootle.

Non riding spouse – jog on cycle path / Peebles and walk by the river/ Traquair House if that’s her thing or Kailize gardens

There’s quite a technical descent off to the left just before the cairn but not sure how you’d make a big loop out of it as you’d come down near to where you started – very interesting though!

You can climb up further on the left too (Quite a techy climb) to add height to your descent (Turn round come back down) 🙂

Go to a physio – your hips may be out of alignment. Then core exercises and stretching always.

Very frustrating for everyone. Was a Canadian system – shame they didn’t have the forethought to advise about the system 🙄 as with most things it’s simple when you know how.

Anyhoo – the Scottish round was by far the busiest for registration selling out in record time (Which is quite something considering the difficulties )There’s a raft of big players coming to the Tweed Valley for this which is an incredible testament to the professionalism and success of the Tweedlove team.

Excited? Moi? (And I’m not even racing 🙂 )

What Legend said. Large areas of Innerleithen will be used which may necessitate closing of the hill to non racers. You could always join in 😀 or get b r to show you around Glentress and natural trails.

I’d leave it till the beginning of March if I were you (Check on 7 Stanes website) there are quite a few restrictions till end of Feb (Clearing trees which were victims of recent storms) Inners is fine GT OK if you don’t mind missing a few bit out

My friend is going up and camping – I’ll direct him to this thread. I’m going to observe/help but I’m booked in a hotel :D. I’d hazzard a guess on about 50k for the course in total.

You should go whilst you are there but stay overnight at least – the journey is tiring. Float plane is lovely but it’s still a work out – not all descending! 😀

Most M & S stores now throw all the ‘out of date’ food away instead of selling to staff (Well they send it away for Bio fuel) It’s an utter disgrace – the amounts of good food wasted each day is obscene 🙁

Don’t think I’d drive all the way up to Glenlivet for just that (Not been but friends said it was ‘OK’) such a long way when there’s other stuff much closer to the rest of your riding

There’s a Facebook page so you could check there. Second money for the food van 🙂
