Was looking at Suunto when I was first getting a GPS, probably would have picked it over a forerunner. However at the time they didn’t support Macs so I went with Garmin. Not sure if that is still the case

Used Aperture and Lightroom. I am a mac man but Aperture felt a bit ameteur whereas lightroom seemed far better and you can do a lot more with it.

[quoteI’d love to know which system helps in these situations and takes the crosswind into account! Which system are you referring to dharmstrong?

Only deal with commercial airliners, mostly modern types with full autopilot systems. All jets. Autopilot takes a feed of flight data from the FMC from what I have been told by pilot friends who fly for a few major UK operators.

Spent a number of years (14 at the last count) sat watching them.

the landings might not be as impressive but there’s still something in me that thinks helicopters just shouldn’t work which is why they’re cooler than planes.

They also give you less warning of impending doom!

Not sure which computers help you there; none of those approaches were Autoland.
I have no idea, I was repeating what the guy told me.

The “computers” do aid with rudder and aileron controls, if you use both it will “help” keep the aircraft in the right direction and the wind is also taken into account (it gets this info as well). But this won’t mask poor pilot’s, trust me on a windy day at Heathrow you can see the better pilots and you can tell who flys in warm calm conditions for most of their flying days.

Running 25c on my road bike too (conti 4000s) really for comfort rather than confidence. So far so good, not as jarring a ride compared to 23c – but I am running new wheels as well so it might be partly that too.

Rained solid for almost 2 weeks. Ground is wet on top but solid under it, however its pretty sloppy and cuts up easily.

I did it last year in the sun, am due to do it this year. However I rode part of the course on Monday and it wasn’t fun. Very boggy in places and that is without many other bike tracks in the mud.

Seem to be very little choice on tubeless road tyres. Have some tubeless rims for my roadbike (was not the reason I bought them) but run them with tubes as it’s cheaper and you get a better choice of tyre.

[quoteDid anybody out riding come across him and stay with him, and was it a struggle?[/quote]

Not Cav but have ridden with Geraint Thomas, they are worlds apart from any “normal” cyclist. They make what feels like going fast to mere mortals look easy.

The horses are put down usually as the injury is not one that the horse can recover from, i.e. a broken leg, it’s pretty much impossible to rest a horse and let it recover from that.

Also the owner loses the animal, which is probably quite difficult as they do actually care for them, and also the cost of the horse as racehorses are unisurable.

Had labyrinthitis as well a few years back. Felt like being drunk, spinning head but not able to stop it. You can get tablets from the docs, strong anti travel sickness tablets that dull the symptoms but also make you very lethargic. Can last a few weeks or unfotunately a few years (like me). Body “learns” eventually to compensate for the imbalance in the inner ear. But go to your GP if it doesn’t let up as it “may” be other things that have similar symptoms.

As you pay more for dhb you get more of a “pro” fit, i.e. it gets tighter around the belly. The Aeron race I have are tighter around the waist but cut so that as you are in the riding position the shoulders are comfy, stood up they feel very tight around the shoulder.

Would you not then see exactly where they start riding. Ie home mostly

You can turn a privacy setting on so it masks where you start and end to other users viewing your profile.

Strava can annoy you, I felt that I had gone faster up one of the climbs near me but was one second off my PB. Was gutted.

Richmond park? Fair amount of traffic but decent sighted descents and reasonable road surface

Thanks to crikey, it was the valve ring. Removed it, it’s “pro” according to a roadie mate……

Had “standard” sized drops on a roadbike that I sold. Recently decided to take an ebay punt on a roadbike for fitness. It has compact drops and I find them far more comfortable, happy to ride on the drops now as it’s less of a stretch. I think it is a personal thing if you are not riding le tour.

Just got some Ultegra 6700 wheels. Way below your price band but I am pleased. A mate runs the RS80 and is pleased with them. £ for lb they get great reviews.

When I bounce the front on the floor there is a buzz thorugh the wheel that wasn’t evident with the old wheelset. New tyres and tubes as well so it might just be the new setup.

Helps ‘mericans not have a wheel fall out if they forget to tighten their QR up. Less spokes and lighter wheel than the lump of iron that bontrager called a wheel, might just be difference in wheels to be honest.

Are those Ultegra 6700s tubeless in the “MTB Tubeless” sense? If I get some tubeless road tyres add some stans I’m away?

Had one, top tube was too long (even in small, i’m 5ft6) and I sold it. Felt fast when you wanted to accelerate. Creaked though as mentioned above.

If you can remove the valve core from the valve then the pump should get air in quick enough to seal the bead on the rim.

My PCS-9 was really tight when I assembled it and the first few uses it was a struggle to get it to budge. After a few uses it seems to have become easier to slide the pole.

The “common fault” is the compression dial failing and having no effect on the lockout, the gate dial moves with it as well. Seeing if I can get them warranty’d. But they are 120mm rebas and want 140mm shocks which I was planning on buying in the summer, so an early purchase has been made.

Is it easy to fit a new SFN? Or do I need headset tools?

Also running them in Guildford/SH area. Work pretty well apart from in really slimy mud (newlands corner the southern side of it as you climb up) where it can clog a bit, but other “types” of mud it has been fine. It is a bit draggy but after a week of riding you get used to it.

The superstar chainguide does rub on my 1×10 setup (Yeti ASR5). Not bad in the middle of the cassette but at the top or bottom it makes a racket especially if there is some dirt on the chain. I have tried with various positions but there isn’t a massive amount of room in it, which I guess for not dropping the chain you want but it does annoy me a little.

Depends how often they are used. At my work the chairs get used 24hrs a day and they lasted less than a year (as do most chairs to be fair).
