Old red – Orange. Coffee. Black – Orange. Coffee/bacon roll. New red – Old red – Orange. Proper good day out unless you are uber fussy.

I have a pair of Lidl shoes that are 2 years old and still going. Another pair that are still in the box a year later. I think I will get another spare pair tmw seeing as I just got some Crank Bros Acids to play with. Easier to change shoe than cleats and at that price………

Part of that is because I'm 100kg and I'm fearful of getting out of the saddle and putting the pressure on with gears because of destroying the drivetrain, and snapping a chain.

I'm 110Kg and love getting up and stomping. I have snapped 4 chains in the last 2 1/2 years but have only had one gut to stem incident. I vowed to just change chains after 0.75 on the wear indicator now. I want to try this SS thang tho. It looks fun. I've got all the kit I need now and this winter either my 853 or 456 will become SS.

Got a pal that loves Vert Pros on the rear _because_ they break away. I pinch punctured the PoS and it was beyond repair. If you must use one keep it on the back and make sure it's hard if on rocky ground, soft if you want grip in any other conditions. Personally I'd get rid. Without wanting to sound like a Maxxis groupie I've tried Ignitors, Swampthings, HR and Larsen TTs since binning my Verts. They are all better in UST. Even my Fire XC Pros are better. The only worse tyre I can remember is Spesh Enduro Pro 2.25s

If one is to have a bigger tyre it should be on the front for better grip and less rolling resistance on the back <cue Schwalbe fanbois quoting their website fatter is faster nonsense>.
Personally I think if you've got a Vert Pro UST on the front then it only a matter of time before you'll get to know the first name of a casualty nurse!

What file is it hanging on? Take out individual memory sticks and see if it boots. Unplug everything bar the graphics card and keyb/mouse and see if it boots. Make sure the correct CD drive is selected in the boot order. It sounds like one of them is kaput.

I know someone who has just taken one off the front and relaced with a high roller as he felt it was washing out but this was on a new summer season which he hasn't really got used to yet. I on the other hand am just going to swap the other way. Well at least I will if the weather gets better again. I've never ridden an Advantage but want to try it.

Where's the rest of it? I feel cheated.

Kind of expensive that. There's cheaper around and a threaded bar with big washers and nuts does the job handsomely. As for removing the crown race – no!

I have both and have recently serviced both. The Pro2s after 2 years and the Shimano after 1 year on a bike I have just bought. Cups and cones are a pain in the arse to set up correctly and require regular service. The Pro2s are a doddle to replace bearings on and service whenever hat happens. Pro2 every time for me. The noise is a redsox alerting bonus.

Every single tubless user I've EVER ridden with has at some point had to stick a tube in. Every. Single. One, either because the valve has failed, or the tyre has burped or a puncture. they all failed eventually

This is a moot point. Yes I have had failures in the 2 years I have been running tubeless. I have had to put a tube in once and also a patch, tube box and tube for a slashed sidewall. One week on tubes sees me doing more trailside maintenance in puncture repairs than 2 years tubeless.

I have Pikes on mine and they stay at 140 the whole time. It's an awesome set up.

Realman, I've not used Stans, so I don't know if Joe's is any better. It stayed liquid longer than JRA wheelmilk, and when i used the Geax stuff i had to top it up with Joe's to get rid of a very slow leak.

I have found joes to seal ghetto systems better and stay liquid for a lot longer. It also doesn't seem to come through the sidewalls on a new tyre. Stan's does. Joe's gets my vote.

Man up. I can pull mine off with my fingers. <I am still talking about Pro2 spacers btw!>

I have been doing extreme stunts to the max since like forever. I once did a skid that lasted 2 weeks.

Rock Lobster Team Tig 853 then. Crossmarks for extra dust kicking up ability.

What's it for? If it's a complete all rounder then 456 Summer season if they have any left. For more jey stuff then the Rock Lobster Team tig 853. I've got both but still have to get the Nomad out on occasion.

Just use a hairdryer on its hottest setting. That'll be sufficient

The busiest app on my pen drive “toolkit” is Norton Removal Tool. It is worse than many viruses (virii). Get rid. AVG or Avast and if you really think you need a software firewall (you probably don’t) and think that you can configure it properly then Comodo or similar. I still put sygate on some PCs.

Well they’ve got the right cone. It’s a start. Is there a compatibility chart anywhere online? Anyone? Help! Much prefer Hope Pro 2s 🙂

I have found LUST HR tyres to be pinch resistant but also single ply HR done ghetto stylee. I wonder what rims people who pinch them are running. I always run mine at 35-40psi and feel the occasional rim dink, particularly on the ghetto system but no flats yet. 823s UST and 321s ghetto. I’m 17st and clumsy.

I am a fat knacker that eats pedals for breakfast. Except V12s, 2 years out of my first set still going strong and a year out of another set. The anodising/paint comes off if you get coloured ones but no other complaints whatsoever. Great bit of kit.

Got a heap on around then and I will be doing the 10 More in Moray the week before but definitely interested. I fear the Torridon midges though, it could be hell on a stick.

Went down to ACDC at hampden this week – that track was busy as were the A96 and A939 and B9007! Dunno if it was the Olympics or the good weather but I have never seen so many ghey raodie shi-ites or cyclists in general (in this country). I believe the route is the Sustrans route 7.

Too much faffing going on in that pic. The only place you stop is that little saddle where the track narrows and goes left. This is to relieve the lactic acid arm pump which will have reached ridiculous levels by then!

I run them on 321s and 823s and a better all round tyre I cannot find. Nearly everybody in our club is on them now too. They really suit our local conditions as well as the likes of Golspie and Laggan, with the odd big hill day thrown in.

I’ve used Stan’s and Joe’s No Flats. They both work but I have found the Joe’s stuff to be batter at sealing ghetto tubeless. You only find this out when you try and remove a tyre! It failed when I ripped a whole side lug off my HR at Laggan but then I think blue circle would have failed then too!

It’s a tough one <sucks lip>, it’s a ride of 2 halves you see. Your weapon of choice is ideal for the up which is a killer but you’ll mince down one of the best descents anywhere. It’s not a down for hardtails, ti or otherwise. I’ve seen 3 hardtails on it and the riders really do get beat up. I do it on my Nomad but I suppose the best compromise for the job would be a 5″ full susser.
Edit: Apols it’s late. I missed the sarcasm running through your post. Go fully rigid. The kudos will make you the most respected person in A&E 😀

Did my AC. Was doing gentle XC rides, effectively one handed after 10 days. Took 2 weeks to be able to drive (couldn’t change gear) and 10 weeks to get to 90%. Probably 6 months to stop twingeing altogether. One year before I put a big hit in on the rugby pitch and it survived so I don’t worry about it anymore. At about the 6 month point I had another off on the same shoulder that took loads of skin off. I was really relieved to be able to get up putting weight on it despite the claret everywhere. Broke my helmet in that and the original crash but that’s another debate………..

I believe you are doing the big Feshiebridge mountain experience on Sunday. My crystal ball and throwing bones predict a scorcher. Even hotter than last Sun when we did it. It’ll be a lot of fun going up! The chances are that you wil have a very warm and dry week but Scotland is famous for it’s unpredictable weather.

I saw this track “in the flesh” and to be fair from right back at the gondola station, but it looked pretty easy from that distance.

Perhaps I should qualify that the people I know that HAVE ridden it and think it is not easy and should be graded above red are capable of 14 runs in the Endurance DH on the proper DH track.

I drank 4 cans of redbull on a journey from Aylesbury to Elgin. The next day I nearly went to see the quack because I thought I had NSU or a dose. My japseye was on fire every time I went for a pish. Luckily it had gone the next day and I figured out what had caused it. Just the ocassional one nowadays for me, vodka optional.

Those that have ridden it from our club say the red rating is a bit on the under-estimating side compared to say the Laggan and Golspie blacks that we ride regularly! Not wanting to put you all off but it might be a bit tougher than it looks in that vid. The penalty for getting it wrong on some of the shore sections would probably qualify you for flying pay before you impact. I hope to give it a shot soon.
