If it's Vista or 7 then the path may be C:\users rather than C:\documents and settings.

Yeah just get a grinder and cut it in half. Job done. You might want to roughen the running surface with some superglue and iron filings too. Might as well pack the bearings with some of that beach sand grease as well whilst you've got it all apart.

Got both dezzy and regular Goretex breeks and they are identical bar the colouring. The dezzy ones just don't look right though for some reason.

My helmet mount is exactly the same in looks and performance as the bar mounts my pals have so don't read anything into the current figures on the DX site. I also have a Hope 4. It is not brighter than the DX. In fact you struggle to see its light when they are on together. It is more floody and has no hotspot so when used in isolation is probably a nicer light to ride with. I seldom ride with just one light and if you ride in a group the nice even light of the Hope is also negated by shadows and hotspots. If I had £250 to spend on lights just now I would get 5 DX lights.

Hey Spock, you appear to be getting irrational and not using logic.
Where does the earlier version come in? The video shows the brightest to be a 3W LED not the 5W you refer to earlier in the thread. The video does not do a side by side comparison with a Tesco torch so why re reference it? If, as you say, they have upgraded the version that steelfan shows to the 3W that is shown in the video, then I reckon that makes them both 3W and comparable. If that is the case then £16 gets you 2 complete torches. No brainer.

2 one watt tesco torches, this is a 5 watt upgrade

Rewinding the clock back a year! 😀

The Tesco torches I refer to are 3W AA jobs. They cost £8 in my local Tesco at the moment. They have never been on the Tesco website for some strange reason. There were loads of threads about them on the pre hack forum. Loads of people here modded them to make helmet and bar lights. Given the beam shots I've seen above I will not be wasting cash modding my Maglite.

You could get 2 tesco torches for the cost of that upgrade. A tesco torch is as bright or brighter I would say. I like the ability to change focus though. Hmm, got a redundant mini maglight here that was my best friend for a couple of desert camping trips. Maybe I'll give it an upgrade.

Can someone please explain to me how you tune a frame. Anyways, you are all very harsh. can you not see Kaesae,s (sic) point? If the government bought all his frames and made people go out on them and be all stress relieved and stuff, then they wouldn't need to fund the NHS. Makes perfect sense. TOTW by a country mile.

Well it's only 2 weeks away and it's 13 deg outside now at 2330. But this time last year there was loads of snow and at the start of dec it was about -10 at night. I remember it being -28 in 81ish and -22 in 95. Last winter we had a couple of weeks where the temp didn't get above freezing and I rode Laggan at -14. Ask us one on sport!

We don't get proper mud like what you does darn sarf so skinny tyres are a no no. Especially when you are a fat knacker and clumsy. 2.35 Larsens, HR and soon to be swampies all the way. Skinny looks weedy and gay to me.

I was put off by the background and the fact that the first thing I saw was a paypal begging button. The next thing I saw was "6 friends having fun" and thought they're having a laugh – they want me to sponsor their mountain biking???? It put me off reading any more so I think a wee layout adjustment is required.

The trail pixies in our woods have just sprinkled a bit of cement on top. It seems to have done the trick with the elements doing the mixing.

LOL! Not stopping there, I've actually sold my boys to workhouses for the weekend and put my wife out to prostitution to help cover my fuel, food and drink for the ride!

Worst whisky I've ever had is Glen Moray. Avoid.

Nae wonder, it floods every few years now! Never tried it despite it being my closest distillery. No Macallan in the OPs list, it's a must have. BenRomach Organic is the one everyone is raving about at the moment. My fave this week is Balvenie but I also like Blair Atholl. Glenlivet is nice too but I have to be in the mood for those west coast peaty things like Bowmore and Laphroaig. My mole in Gordon & Macphail's brought me a bottle of Project B10YO from Benromach last week and that is dangerously drinkable.

I tore my calf muscle playing rugby 6 weeks ago. Cycling caused it though I'm sure. Still not fixed but I can get 20 miles or so out of it without problems now. Running or jumping is out of the question though.
Besides that I got a chainring gash in my right knee after a chain snap incident. Didn't bother with stitches but now wish I had as it's quite an ugly scar.

I LOL'ed 3 times reading it. Some people need to lighten up and take themselves a lot less seriously. I wonder if all if any of the moral high horse riders here have ever forwarded a Stephen Gately or Michael Jackson txt. I sniff double standards here.

but when aluminium oxidises a very thin layer forms (we're talking microns) and this layer prevents further corrosion.

Someone should tell the aircraft industry then, they spend a fortune on preventing it oxidising.

I've got Endura Superlights and cut off ex army goretex. Both excellent but I prefer the Superlights because they have pockets.

People that take anodizing off – do you lacquer the metal afterwards? I mean, nobody strips the paint off steel components and then leaves them to the mercy of the British climate do they? Why aluminium then? The anodizing is there for a very good reason.

I've had a pikey swing a plank of wood at me but stop mid swing when I said "How ya doing?" of all things and also some kids jumped a fence to have a pop at us last week in front of their pals. The thing is I am one of the bigger scarier looking members of society and Dave behind was even bigger! Ned's face went from mischief to fear very quick when he got close and realised. I stand up on the pedals and look them right in the eye and this has been enough to get them to back off so far. I quite like a ruck though so I wouldn't be too bothered if they didn't but 4 would be a challenge right enough.
Not sure I'd have duffed up Spanish bloke unless he refused to leave immediately. I'd be more concerned with just getting him out and away from my family.

I've just ordered the Lumi bag. I got the helmet mount DX Bastid but haven't used it on the trails yet. The supplied bag clips perfectly onto my camelbak shoulder strap and some artistic tywrapping has the helmet mount and cable sorted. Just been in the garden to test against my Hope Vision 4. Together there will be undergrowth spontaneously combusting. The hotspot on the bastid makes it a good helmet light and it shows up well against the flood of the Hope. If I can remember and be arsed I'll take some beamshots soon but to be honest I'll probably just go and enjoy riding instead.

Those shorts are excellent. That's a good price too. The pockets appear to keep the water out too; my phone and money have never got damp and I have worn them in some stinker of wet rides. I just wear normal tight boxers underneath, will I die?

I don't think you could turn and pedal at the same time on that. The front wheel would take your feet out.

Human rights…….fool. It's called the law, mate. If I recognised anyone in that photo I wouldn't think twice about telling them to sue you.

Just found out my order didn't go through for my summer season, so have to order again tomorrow.

How did you find this out? I'm paranoid about my order because although I've got a confirmation from paypal I've had nowt from On One.
To the OP I would say with 99.9% certainty you need the 18". I'm 6'3" and ride a 20" but having sat on an 18" too there's not a whole lot of difference to be honest.

Respeck for even trying it on that. I get arm pump on fireroads on mine 🙂

Magic bike for eating up the miles though.

It rocks. I've ridden mine around the Peak. It rode around there a lot before I had it. Apparently they need new bearings every year. Not my experience so far. Great bikes but more than you'll need around the Peak really.

Got exactly the same prob on my Louise rear brake. It's contamination of some sort. A good downhill drag burns it off for one or 2 rides but it always comes back. Got new pads, will replace when I can be bothered. I live on a hill so invariably by the time I've got to the bottom it works fine so it's not really an issue.
Oh and it's beyond all REPAIR!!!! 😀

+1 for bent hanger. Spent ages sorting my wife's brand new Spesh. Whinged to the supplier and they sent out a new hanger and mech next day by which time I had straightened and sorted so I had some spares.

Saw the Cure last year. Surprisingly good. I didn't really like their stuff at the time they were popular. Saw the Cult last wed. They were absolutely fandabbydozy!
