What you doing taking bits of the drive side? All the guides I've seen and so the way I do it, is to strip from the non drive side. I've yet to take drive side cone, washers and nuts off the axle yet apart from one replaced cone.

Looking at all the pics down south I almost feel guilty saying that I have had a very nice weekend in the sun. Was out singlespeedng round the woods last night and will again later on this eve.

Don't listen to MattPhotos. He smells of poo and picks his nose and eats it. I am the best counsellor bar none. Come to think of it, I'm a bit busy looking at my case load so it probably better if she emails me a pic. I will be able to tell automatically from her body language whether she needs to be given a higher priority. Probably best if she doesn't cover all that body language up with bulky clothes and stuff.

Don't listen to mo he/she is obviously deranged. Your leggy date obviously needs the services of a professional counsellor. Go round and give her my email, it's in my profile.

Eh? The sun is shining and it's still and warm here. Well 12 deg ish anyways. I might give the new summer season it's inaugural tonight.

Old friends that go wobbly and fall in 2 pieces being described as aggressive? I fail to see how a fail can be belligerent unless the 2 pieces somehow morphed (can you see what I did there?) back into a terminator 2 style robot and slapped the OP around a bit, in which case it would be an old friend fail. Fail F- 😀

"belligerent"??? As in aggressive or truculent? Applied to a piece of failing metal? X

    Fail.

Somebody has left a skid mark on your wall. Nice bike. Your definition of winter hack is different to mine I think!

I've just converted one with a tensioner. At the moment it skips occasionally going up steep hills when I'm really cranking hard. I'm using a Fireye conversion kit with a 3/32 wippermann flood sale chain. I don't know if the skipping will get better as it wears in or not or even if I should maybe use a 1/8 chain. Would some one explain how a half link works. I don't get it,

I use them. Have never had any probs till recently. Hayes 9 and Magura Louise replacements have both needed to be filed down to fit into the housing. Once they fit though they are fine. Mine last donkeys too but then again I do a proper bedding in <why not add another argument to keep the biscuit munchers entertained!>

just take it easy t-r. I hear somebody was hit the other night in a nasty accident in Aberdeen. Did you hear anything about it?

    Bosh,
No this year you don't have to put your own anti chainsuch dent into the chainstay. There are also ISCG mounts and of course – paint! I've single speeded last years model which I rode for the 1st time tonight. Your front brake hose looks too short BTW!

    Where'd you hear that DeVs?

I dunno if it's meant to be a secret so I won't say any more but someone in Scotland is looking into the possibility just now.

I have heard a rumour that there may well be a new UK distributor soon so it might be worth hanging on for new purchases.

I am either very lucky with my DX or you are very unlucky with yours but I have seen nothing that compares with it for brightness and I have a Hope 4 and go on regular club rides where there are every kind of LED and HID on display. Either that or people's eyes just react differently to the light.
I'll tell you what is cool. Put the DX on low whilst on your head and then spin a wheel in front of your face. The strobe interference patterns with the spokes keep me fascinated for oh seconds! 🙂

Nope although you do go that way at the end of the Syfindrin. With the gate you describe on your left you carry on out past the RHS of Pendam Res, and the next one (Rhosgoch?) and then along the edge of NyM. Sounds like you've missed the best bits. None of it is singletrack but it is badly eroded landy track and if you've got the bollox it can be quite a gnarly blast over rocky drops. I've only done it on my Nomad and loved it. The only problem being, as previously described, some huge wheel deep puddles.

    Ok here's mine then:

Some more of the build here:

The Syfindrin trail takes you along the edge of Nant y Moch. It's the 30km yellow conti signed trail.

Are the puddles still wheel deep on the Syfindrin trail? It's always deserted I find. Ridden it about 10 times now as it is my local trail when visiting the outlaws. I've seen about 20 other bikers and most of them were in the car park or mincing up the leg burner. I have never seen anybody at all once you get past Nant y Moch Res. The most company I've had was a sheep with its head stick in a wire fence. I had to release him before the crows had his eyes out. He thanked me by kicking my leg.

Eh? No snow here in Moray.

Edit: Bejaysus just looked at the cams and there's snow just down the road. Hurrah, might get 1st proper snowy ride of the season in then.

Got my frame yesterday but will leave to the weekend to build it up. Looking good grumm. The frame is brighter in the flesh than the pics portay it as. It's almost fluorescent!

Tomalsop – where'd i get me one of those?

If you mean the strip then it's Stade Francais. I would imagine they have an online shop. If you mean the player then any rugby club bar after about 9pm on a saturday!
Apparently there was a team in France that cycled to all their games in pink kit with dickie bows on. I miss the amateur days……..

Sounds to me like the 2nd shop have made an arse of either taking it out or putting it back in. Either way they should be able to put right the damage quickly but it sounds like they are a bit incompetent. I'd get a 2nd opinion if I was you. Well no I wouldn't I would just fix it myself. Sounds like our charlatans of an LBS.

Got my boy a 24" Viper off CRC. It's not light but it is aluminium and even has disk mounts! Was reduced to £110 when I got it and it's done well for him. The only problem he's had is blisters on his thumb from the grip shifts but I think that may have been poorly fitting gloves. He got it when he was 7.

Ahem, I did mention Jacob's Ladder. I was first, me me me!

Gonna add Golspie now too. Don't think there's another one that makes me smile so much at the bottom.

If there's going to be a proper north (not the southern north that they mistakenly call north down south) STW bonding session at Golspie or Balblair soon then I'm probably up for it. Get it in before the end of Nov and you can laugh at my comedy mouser.

I think that may be chapel gate too?
Although Rushup edge westwards has drops in too. Eastwards is good too. Oh darn it, it's all good!

Was the westward route I did. I'll give that chapel Gate a blast next time I'm there. Trouble is there's an awful lot of brilliant biking between me and there so my trips are few and far between.

Carn Ban Mor. Ben Rinnes. Bannachie. Party Quarry in the Oakwoods. The Chute on Mach3. Climachx final descent. Cadair Idris. Laggan Black. Jacob's Ladder and that one off Rushup Edge with lots of drops on it.
Depending on what day it is and what I had for breakfast it could be any of the above.

10-15 miles 4-5 nights a week offroad. One 15-20 miler at the weekend either in local woods or trail centre or big mountain.

My pal is a smoker and told me I should oppose the smoking ban when they were talking about bringing it in. His reason was simple. if they get it they won't stop there, they'll turn their attention to drink and all other kinds of fun soon. It would appear that he is becoming more righterer with every day.

I don't need a cycle to get me in the mood for beer. I have a pint after rugby, skiing and sometimes after doing nothing at all. I have even been known to have a pint when someone has decided it would be ok instead of working. Occasionally I'll have one lying on a sunbed next to a pool or beach too. How awful. Children and Muslims should probably be protected from me because I am clearly a danger to the rest of society.

Yep. They could cause it but it is msost likely the PSU. Rob, borrow or buy a new PSU and if that doesn't fix it you're better off buying a new base unit.
