I used a long piece of grey bathroom waste pipe and a toe-strap front and rear. Attach to seatpost of adult bike and head tube of child bike. You have towing and braking sorted (cut each end of pipe into ‘cup’ shape to ensure it locates properly).
Used it for years, didn’t have any incidents, daughter made it to Uni!
I had to keep an eye on daughter trying to overtake but that was the only worry. No other worries, offroad or on.
There was more ‘involvement’ with the terrain and the child, they had to steer and balance and stuff.

It reminded me of this trail in Broxa Forest:
    http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=493850&Y=493975&A=Y&Z=120
that was also logged and destroyed many years ago…

I last visited back in Feb/March and it had been obliterated by logging tractors. Did it recover? We rode about 50 yards before our bikes picked up so much clag they were unrideable. It saddened me so much that one of my favourite trails had been destroyed that I haven’t been back since!

Well, Pinkbike was doing the photo hosting so I thought I’d do the ad there.
£15 a week pocket money? That ain’t pocket money in the way that a tenner’s worth of food at the cinema ain’t a snack!
I work 40 hours a week and don’t have that much disposable income. Ask your Dad to sell one of the Porsches! 😀

There aren’t many advances you can make with standard roadie equipment. A rider on an old steel frame from the 1970s can trounce a rider on the latest carbon fibre gear, the time differences are negligible. As a result, roadies will pay exhorbitant amounts of money to be ‘one up’ on their fellow riders.
As mountain bikers have more than tarmac and air to worry about, there’s a lot more innovation and bigger differences can be felt if a particular suspension design is more efficient.
    Something like that, anyway!

Damn! I’ll be on a Megabus to Aberdeen on Sunday – It’s going to be well worth the pay per view! Watching Warner going down is probably the most entertaining course ride ever! He must have been concentrating very hard – just swearing, no witticisms. He misses an open goal ‘pulling me off’ reference at the road crossing!

I’ve now seen 2 broken ones. (one in this thread and one in my LBS waiting to go to Hotlines). They’re both silver. A quick poll: what colour bikes has anyone seen with snapped chainstays?

Affordable classic, had a couple of them over the years – brilliant fun!

The HK pic problem was just my computer being slow!

What is the cheapest a decent DS can be had for then? I want an estate version or an old CX!

Facel Vega HK500, always reminds me of a Rover P5 (which I also love) on steroids

How surprised was I to see one of these in less than pristine condition (daily driver) parked in Bridlington one day in the 1990s.
The rear view: (this is not the Bridlington one!)
    Notice the unusual rear lights.

I tend to choose the more ‘affordable’ and more practical classics:

    Still beautiful (to me, anyway!)

When you’ve humanely caught them all, give them to the person who wanted to annoy his neighbours. He can post them through the letterbox.

An alternative is to ditch the Body and lens and go for a Panasonic Lumix FZ50 Single lens superzoom compact.
    10 mp
35-420 fast lens with non-rotating filter mount, manual zoom ring and manual focus ring. The lens doesn’t ‘grow’ during zooming (can be important).
The lens is designed by Leica and is stunning quality.
Check out some tests, see how it compares.
    Has Optical stabilisation.
Get one from ebay for around your budget.

My personal list of ‘I want it now!’ Don’t know if ANY of them qualify as supercars but you could own one for less than 100k…

    MTFU!
Jenson Button lost his wing mirror yesterday and was very calm about it. That wing mirror is probably worth more than your car! He was in the works van though so probably didn’t have to pay for it himself.

Saundersfoot is nice, used to visit there every year as a kid. I particularly liked the beach at Wiseman’s Bridge.
Pendine Sands, hopefully driving is still allowed on the beach!

I was transfixed, very good programme. 5 years until we can talk to them. How long before they start trolling and flaming pointlessly like **** on dolphin.net?

EDIT: I think they used Mr Fry because of his association with ‘The Guide’, you know, “so long and thanks for all the fish etc…”

There is no god, just beings of higher existence.

Bikes weren’t invented until 19th century. Thus disproving intelligent design.
Man invented god as an evolutionary advantage. Religion gave mankind social development advantages.

Used to love ‘1nsane’, pretty good offroad racer with nice physics and damage. You could race ATVs all the way up to 8×8 behemoths.

And one of the first games to have decent online play.

I’ve always liked Yetis, had a 575 for 4 years, now have a Mega but want some turquoise in my life!
I don’t like the 2011 colours though, I’d prefer black with a hint of turquoise.

Get someone to hold your rear wheel down and then put your hand under the rear of the saddle and gently lift. If you can feel movement then it’s the shock bushing (usually).

Grand Voyager manual diesel. Ultimate ‘small comfy van’ for bikers. Can get 4 people plus 4 bikes inside with all wheels on. Fuel consumption not much more than estate.

Hmmm, it is indeed interesting. I have been having similar thoughts myself…
I’ve actually assembled a pile of mtb off-road touring kit, not complete yet but getting there. Full suss bikes, proper tent etc.
One thing that puzzles me about all the gear pics is a lack of dirt/mud shielding. Surely some basic mudguards are a must? Trail dirt will get everywhere and you’re not going home to a bike-wash and a shower, you’re sleeping outside. Maybe my ideas are slightly different…

The bit at Crosscliff Viewpoint in Dalby is my most hated bit of boardwalk. It covers up a fantastic bouncy gully that I used to love whizzing down before the wooden crap was put there. Wooden greasy slippy bollocks!
