BITD I had a thing for swapping tyres regularly, trying different brands/ patterns/ etc.

Wasn’t sure why because I would always replace them with Panaracer Fire XC.
Fires would wear out, I’d buy (for example) Rocket Ron, hate them, buy Fires again, wear them out, buy something else, repeat.

S1 was great, Dame Judy Dench had me in tears, proper scene stealing.

We have Direct Line pet insurance, and they have been admirable.

We got a quote before we got a dog, to see if it was affordable, price was fine, so we saved the quote and got a puppy.
We accidentally took the policy out with the pets name as Puppy (used as a placeholder when we got the quote)
We had to make a claim fairly soon after getting the pup, as he broke his leg hopping off the sofa.
Had a small issue with the claim being queried (not rejected) due to name discrepancy, but they amended to policy to match his name, and pay the vets several thousands of pounds for his operation.

I ordered a Marino (through the UK arm) first week in August, was told about 6 weeks.
Almost at 12 weeks now and it still isn’t in the UK.

I am not bothered, as it has given me plenty of time to buy the components for the full build, but I can imagine a 3 month wait would be irksome to some.

If you are keen to get it quickly, then consider something already in the UK (Marino UK do hold some stock occasionally, have you contacted them?) if you are wanting custom, then go for it.

I am 198cm tall and OTP XXL bikes require me to run loads of seat post, custom was the choice i made.

I’ve done 30k+ miles in 4 years on tubed tyres and had 2 punctures.
One whilst I was riding at about 50mph (did a further 20 miles before realising, no lasting damage to tyre or wheel)
The other was last week when I wheeled my bike out and noticed it was flat.

I wouldn’t bother with anything additional.

Hit me right in the feels, this thread.

A week is such a long time, and nowhere near long enough.

Have some eHugs from an internet stranger.

BITD i used to ride odyssey Jim Ceilenki pedals and Vans TNT shoes, fine for dry weather, blasts round the woods.
Wouldn’t want to do it in a muddy, rootfest that may involve me pushing.

Sagan, love him or hate him, he has been the best all-round rider for the last 8 years.
Fast enough to be in spitting distance of the best sprinters on a bike. Able to keep up in an 8 man breakaway, climb up a mountain and still pop a wheelie over the line.

I flit between thinking the man is a wizard on two wheel, or he is the biggest **** to have ever ridden a bike.

I think he is on the descent of his career, but you can’t write him off.
Plus 2020 is hardly the year to judge anyone’s performance. Rog&Pog seem to have benefited from the long lay-off, where as Sagan and all the French riders have been eating cheese and expecting the season to be written off, and its a chore to have to work now.

This years tour, without a few of the Big Names™, has done wonders to showcase the up-and-comers (I use the term loosely as TdF is pretty much the only pro race I watch)
Had Ineos had a full strength team, pushing for GC and 3 other top 5 spots, would there have been opportunities for Pogocar, Hirschi, et al to make such an impact? I am not so sure.

    RC car?
I built some Lego Technics sets over Christmas and then bought a Tamiya, much more satisfying but certainly a rabbit hole.

More recently i have been buying parts to build a new bike.

What is the point of a photo on photo ID?

(Though I sometime have a beard and sometimes not, I’ve never been queried about it).

My passport photo is a clean shaven me, applied for just before i decided to grow a beard.
UK Borders use the facecamera doodad, and that never recognises me, so i have to go to the real people queue.

Once, the guy in the box said he didn’t believe it was me, made me sign a piece of paper to prove it was me (to compare the signatures)
Then he asked me where I was going “Basildon” i replied and he must have known no-one in their right mind would want to go there voluntarily, and waved me through.

I rebuilt the 911 RSR into an F1 car.

It’s cool, but the steering is reversed

Its 5mm, doubt it will be too noticeable
DHF knob profile seems wider, so should balance it out?

    I’m guessing here.

Thats per £1 ticket, per month, is it? So someone maxed out will have 50000×12 = 600,000 “tickets” or a 1 in 77216 chance of winning the million in a year (or have I done this wrong?)

The odds of winning the £1m is 1 in 45.46 billion
if you have 600,000 “tickets” the odds are not 600,000 in 45.46b, they are 1 in 45.46b minus 600000
    (or 1 in 45,459,400,000)

when you write it down it seems quite unlikely to win that.

in the 4 or 5 years I’ve had PBs, I have won £75 total. Nothing in the last 2 years

I might cash them in and buy a load of scratch cards!

Not knowing (or worse, pretending not to know) who England International and captain of Man Utd Harry Maguire is is not something anyone should be proud of – even if for some reason you want to tell everyone you don’t like football.

I am not sure why I should know who an England football player is.
If this was a forum dedicated to football, I could probably sympathise, but it is a cycling website.

If I was to post about Rask leaving the bubble in the middle of the 1st round, I wouldn’t get upset if someone didn’t know who he is (FYI, he doesn’t ride bikes)
(Also, rumours are he may be leaving permanently, big blow I’d say, especially after moving Dobby on, but I do like Halek. Lets see who Seattle poach)

a small nip of whisk(e)y to a Guinness/ ale gives it a new depth of flavour.
Not a full measure, just a little.

I use Jamesons Stout barrel aged whiskey in stouts and it is lovely.

Reckon the degreaser you have would work well in a similar environment

I used to work in North London next to Highgate Cemetary, saw loads of the green birds.
Initially it was quite wonderful ,seeing such colourful, unusual birds on my lunch break (or out of the office window on a lucky day) but soon become commonplace.

They aren’t really affecting the natural flora & fauna in a negative fashion, so have it I say.

MrsDeth has a peloton, and rates it highly.

She doesn’t ride though, but was a keen spin-class attendee before lockdown.

If you know what radio show you was listening to, you can look at the track listing for that ep and decipher from that.

My current project led me to DVO Beryl D2 for £440 (winstanleys)
Turned up as Diamond D2 which (As far as i can ascertain) are the same fork but OEM versions.

Not actually build the bike yet (frame still being made) but they should be adequate for my needs.

The alternate was some Fox 34s for similar money i found on Wiggle.

As said already, “most” artex will have some form of Asbestos in it (artex went out of fashion at a similar time to asbestos)

A decent plasterer will skim it easy enough.
Just remember, if you do cover it, the asbestos is still there in case you go drilling holes on the surface covered.
