    reminds me of this one-

    thread[/url]

    flatboy a little kinder!

    echoing mboy and missingfrontalobe here.

NuLabour ceased to become a political party and became a marketing company a long while ago, doing anything (knee jerk crazy laws) that will get the right headlines in the redtops.

Are the die hard Labour dudes a bit like supporting the same football team your dad did for life?

    EXAMPLE
Labour pumps in big$$$ to NHS and other public sectors for years yet we don't get the proportionate improvements.
A few weeks before a general election is called, Labour 'identifies' millions (billions?) of 'efficiency savings' in public sector/NHS.
Are we happy to have a government that thinks we're thick? or are we just actually thick?

top tip AJ, like the falling on ice analogy- i have felt that and not known quite how to describe it.

i do always prefer a squeak from the back rather than the front too. 😉

yeah did it a few years ago, i think it rains at some point whatever the day is like. we had bright sunshine all the way only to get dumped on between hardknott and wrynose.
as above, it was Honister that killed me. I'd never done any of the route before and until that point I was thinking 'the ride isnt that hard is it…' it just seemed to come from nowhere and gave my legs a real spanking. 😯

    +1, iDave.

Gordon, Tony + all the others catch-all: "although the decision I made at the time may not have been the right one, you have to understand that I did it for what I believed where the right reasons"…

"mistakes have been made, lessons will be learned"

Wouldnt it be great if we could all do our jobs like that

don't know if its quite as simple as flogging the shares off and erasing debt/pocketing profit!
who would take them? china? then much of our banking system gets 'owned' by china.
openly on the markets? the price would swiftly drop once huge volumes go up for sale…..

I have GXP truvativ- used middleburn replacement rings, have one by one switched all 3 over, all fit fine.

did it last year- really good event good singletrack course with a few short climbs. Not over-serious like national races but still very fast people in the 2hr.
I'd say 4 hr is more fun, you can take it more leisurely and although its short laps, I found by the end, rather than getting bored you're really in tune with the flow of the singletrack after having done it loads of times….
some amazing random giveaway prizes as well- eg dirtworker etc last year.

    English.
I used to say British until I lived in Scotland for a few years and had my eyes opened by the level of anti-englishness endemic in many of the Scotch.

oldgit you should enter sport class then.
No age limit in midlands series (or nationals). the winners are pretty darn quick too, lots of entries and very competitive.

this weekend i raced open. i mainly do it for a laugh but the course at hanchurch was superb. way better fun than a few trail centres i could mention.

I normally nod to all on bikes, generally get nods back whether its me/them on mtb/roadbike.
last time i didnt get nod back i realised it was probably as i was driving my car at the time.
i guess they probably didnt notice or were thinking 'what is that guy on'??

I'd like to ask those of you saying stans are no faff how you do it?
i've got both stans and ust.
ust with ust tyres go on first time every time with just a track pump. even if they burp you can get them inflated again with a mini hand pump.

mounting stans with track pump for me is very hit and miss, ended up using compressor last time.

can't say i've used co2 canisters but doesnt that get a bit wasteful if you're someone who changes tyres a lot? (i dont)

Hardest still is that footpath down from the top of Hope Cross to the side of the reservoir. Nothing in the Peaks beats that.

is that the muddy one we came up the top bit of on the last pootle?
is it all permissive or 'cheeky'??

ahh good to see i'm with the consensus and wasnt having an off day. 😯
as you say, its all doable but early line choice is key I think on cavedale as its so unforgiving if you stray onto a dodgy line as i learnt….

I'm in for it too- although whippets will tell you that extra bulk adds weight, I could probably do with a bit more!
Also i think if you do crash on the bike a bit as i do, stronger muscle around the shoulders/arms can reduce extent of injury.

cheers Chris and all! a great intro to me of some of the peaks trails. Sounds like a shame I had to cry off early at Aston, but at least that leaves more for me to discover another day 🙂

    are you new here ?

not been on that long though i'm fully aware that as for most forums, posts are relatively anonymous so ripping the piss out of well intentioned threads is normal behaviour…
just seemed to be a little unmerited in this case, (you dont seem to be getting that much support in this instance btw-)

    Indeed jj55 Labour TOSH
its like that old socialist analogy of paying a load of people to dig holes and then paying another load to keep filling them in and so on- keep the illusion of an 'active economy' going….

in terms of these assessor / qualifications things, in my view its a very slippery slope to go down- for some reason quasi-governmental (or maybe private) companies invent a whole set of rules on whatever part of industry which means that a load of people have to pay to train to be qualified under those rules…. then the rules are re-invented every year or so and you have to pay again to be re-trained in the new system and so on!

If not going for UST you may want to consider the 'snakeskin sidewall' or 'DD' versions of the nics. UST generally have a much tougher side wall, so less prone to gashes/rips which even sealant won't help with- I've gone for the DD and they're pretty tough.

This fred is hilariously funny! but come on guys, have you seen what ryanair have taken out of their flights? he'd get rid of an engine if he could. do you think he hasnt run the idea of charging by total weight by big shot solicitors??
in my view if weight is the cost issue with luggage, it should be with passengers but this no doubt wont get by the legal bods 😀
