Pink hub looks a little incongruous but other than that, very nice indeed. There’s something very pleasing on the eye with a long’ish legged steel HT.

A man in a cinema notices what appears to be a duck sitting next to him.
“Are you a duck?” asked the man, surprised.
    “Yes” replied the duck
“What are you doing at the movies?” asked the man.
“Well, I liked the book” replied the duck.

Great shots grum – the ones of the SB & SS Great Britain are just about the best I’ve seen. Nice to see you took a shot of the Banksy (that some **** has added to) from Park Street looking down onto Frog Lane.

Excellent – thanks for posting them up.

My mate suffered a heart attack last year at 41 years of age. Very fit lad (tidy amateur boxer in his day) – kept in shape doing circuits in a boxing gym. Cause was uncertain – either an undiscovered PFO (hole in the heart), a blood clotting condition or combination of both. He’s made a good recovery and now back at work.

    All the best.

Not Europe but I’ve recently used BicycleHero.com (they ship from the States and South Korea) when I purchased some bars they stocked cheaper than anywhere else. Ordered on the 1st March and received them from L.A on the 13th with a fully tracked service. Excellent and I’d deal with them again.

Cheers Junky – I gather it’s lost in the archives then, if it’s pre-hack. The photo’s still doing the rounds some 7+ years later!

What’s the story behind the bearded lad with a track pump inflating a tyre, or penguin or some other thing that’s been super-imposed?!

He’s on P3 of the Show me your Covert thread, amongst many others.

    mtbcowboy,

Google – ‘sram spare parts catalog (and then the year)’ and download the PDF. Within you will find exploded diagrams with the relevant parts numbers.

I’m inclined to agree with him as well. My wardrobe is limited to Endura (which can be very hit and miss) and Gore, as other brands I’ve owned have not been sufficiently durable. I’m not surprised at the longevity of MTB kit in the UK though, the number of times it gets churned round in the washing machine due to our conditions.

    I did ACTUALLY lol :D

    And this …

If in 20 years she still harbours anger and resentment over the matter I’d burn the place down. Play the long game.

This has been a great thread!

    The Quadrangle is Wills Hall.

Brandon Hill will supply some great photos over Bristol.

Ashton Court (Mansion) is best accessed via Clanage Road.

Remember that Banksy’s ‘Cuckolded Husband’ Art is on Park Street at the bottom.

As for the Suspension Bridge – my favourite place on this rock. Agree with the LW side to take a shot.

If you’re near Temple Meads – throw in a snap of St Mary Redcliffe Church, nearby.

It’s a brilliant city grum. You won’t want to leave.

You’d need to inspect the vacuum cups for suction fairly regularly and have a pristine car for an adherent surface (I imagine). I just see hassle in that along with a number of other drawbacks … and they’re expensive. I wouldn’t – well, that’s my initial impression.

I imagine the eagerness to solicit a complaint is a direct result of Staffs as Drac suggested. On that note I don’t see a comparison with what went on at Staffs here. I’d be content with their reassurance the incident has been recorded and will be looked into. Surgery will always carry an element of risk. I can’t see anything will come of driving a complaint forwards in these circumstances. Presumably they will build in a fail-safe that see’s kit turned off properly. Asked to be cc’d informally into their findings and if that doesn’t provide adequate reassurance consider complaining then.

The surgeon and his team may well have enabled you and your wife to have children. You obviously know this is likely to be the most positive act the two of you will ever benefit from. If you do go on to have children and all that goes with it, a small blemish will seem trivial in the extreme – I know you know this and it’s not the point, but it’s that, that would be foremost in my mind.

Regrettably complaining is now an integral part of most people’s daily exchanges these days.

    I agree with this man – http://sheldonbrown.com/frame-sizing.html

Top tube length is the most important measure when sizing a bike and the Giant appears too small for your build/reach.

Anti-seize for rotor bolts, bottom brackets, seat posts (fine amount – aluminium post to steel frame) and pedals. Grease pretty much everything else.

If you’ve just moved to the area make sure you check out ‘Bad Ass Bikes’ at the bottom of Burrington Coombe and acquaint yourself with the owner Rob (AKA Box) and the boys. Great bunch who run an excellent workshop. They will know lots of groups that ride up there and might still have copies of the Mendip AONB Fat Tyre pamphlets – that detail three CTC graded trails.

Interesting – because I don’t consider myself a ‘cyclist’ as such, even though I ride mountain bikes?? I guess I distinguish between the commuter / roadie type culture where it’s more a part of their everyday life, and me buffooning about on the trails. I’m not that interested in cycling per se.

Reading that back makes little sense – but I know what I mean (sort of what scotroutes has said).

Excellent. The amateurish critic in me is tempted to describe it as hardboiled film-noir, words I wouldn’t ordinarily associate with Australian cinema.

    The IMDB score is stingy.

I’ve just replaced cables and housings

Are you cutting the cable housing too short (bends quickly at barrel adjuster)? If so, it will kink/bind causing friction and drag.

If you report it I’d be pretty sure that another black cab driver witnessed the whole thing and it was your wife’s fault and absolutely nothing to do with the cabbie.
That’s normally the way it seem to happen with black cab drivers

You would think that – and going off previous instances you’d be right to do so, but in my experience that shouldn’t be assumed. Many of them have a conscience, they don’t always get on with one another and a fair majority of Hackney carriage cabbies take sub-standard driving and poor attitude as described above quite seriously, as it reflects negatively on them as professional drivers.

I think they deal with all manner of complaints. They’re the main regulatory body for licensed taxis.

On the face of it, it’s pretty pi55 poor behaviour on the cabbies part.

Take a photo of the injury after the bruise has fully developed. Ask your wife to briefly commit to paper what happened giving just the salient details and description of driver. The written account will aid recollection if the cops require a statement later on down the line. I gather the photo taken on the m/p captures his VRM? Does this image depict any other potential witnesses, i.e. other cabbies in the rank (from their VRM’s) for instance? Report it to the police. The female witness may have reported the incident to them subsequently. Other witnesses that didn’t make themselves known to your wife may have done so, also. I imagine that location has CCTV coverage; whether it’s controlled by the local authority, train operator or one of the businesses along that strip of road.

Consider a phone call to the PCO – Public Carriage Office.

I found the JRA tape too thick, not very adhesive and hard to apply. It was conspicuous on the frame and had a yellow tinge! I’m beginning to think I had a duff roll or I’d not adequately prepped the frame, or been patient enough – given that so many others like it.

Has anyone any experience of Sports Cover Bike Shield?
