A colleague asked me to “expedite the inquiry with extreme prejudice” – A right doughnut … and highly likely to make it to a few ranks beyond the ceiling of his charm & ability.

    ‘A Game of Thrones’.

Can’t be bothered to wait for the boxset.

I was reading ‘Revelation Space’ but got to page 102 and felt completely battered – real hard going, in fact too much.

Did he say the “fastest man on no legs”? – Holy Jebus. He could have worded that a bit better (referring to the bladerunner).

I feel a little sorry for him. He was clearly out of his depth having never presented live athletics before, as I understand. The producers or whoever put him in that position should take some of the blame. Perhaps their duties should also be ‘scaled back’.

My view is that comedy should be almost entirely without restraint – the proviso being that it be funny (and I appreciate how subjective a statement that is), but I can’t imagine by anyone’s standpoint that raising a smile – utterly hopeless, mediocre shit3. A case of the self proclaimed office funnyman who has over extended himself.

I would say Airwolf – however if Murdoch from the A-Team were to fly Blue Thunder, then I’d say Blue Thunder hands down.

Massages aid recovery from injuries. An example –

I snapped my Achilles and was put in cast for 8 weeks. In that time the synovial fluid that bathes the tendon with nutrients and lubricates it in its sheath built up and became more viscous due to my foot being immobile. To aid healing and restore mobility this fluid needs to be displaced – deep massage accomplishes this. Collagen fibre’s coalesce into scar tissue, along the rupture site. Friction work (deep massage) removes the adhesions, improving the strength of the tendon and making it less likely to re-rupture.

    deluded,

The only way you could know (prove) that it worked would be to go back in time and go throught the same time period again without the treatment and compare the outcomes, other wise we have anecdotal singular evidence which, when taken together with lots of other singular events can seem to provide a credible body of evidence that a process or intervention works.

Given that it is not possible to time travel as far as i know then the next best thing is to provide the treament to as large a number of people as possible with a similarly large group as control with no intervention.

Comparing these group outcomes will indicate with some level of certainty whether an intervention was effective or not unlike singular events.

For example the oldest recorded woman was a lady by the name of Jeanne Louise Calment who dies at the age of 122. She smoked all her life (well gave up at 119 cos she couldn’t see well enough to light up) and ate a minimum of 2lbs of chocolate per week.

Hence on a sample of one we can show that eating excessive amounts of chocolate and smoking is very healthy and will help you live to a great age.

    WTF?

It helped – of that I’ve no doubt. I’m not obliged to prove anything.

I’m off to the pub to watch the rugby.

I had three massages by a physio on an injury I sustained in March. What I can say is this – it helped no-end. It cost me £30 a go and was worth every penny. He could have prefaced massage with sports, luxuriating, herbal, whatever – it made no odds to me.

I’ve YouTubed many of the above mentioned bands who I’ve not really heard of before – must say that I don’t mind ‘The National’ at all. There’s some pretty bizarre stuff amongst it as well mind. 🙂

To use the ‘Enforcer’ you have to go on a ‘Method of Entry’ course. I did it about 9 or so years ago – basically there were a series of wooden doors hung in a specially constructed metal frame, grid type thing. Two other officers brace the door and you have to bust them through in quick succession – absolutely knackering swinging what is a heavy bit of kit as you can imagine. When I reached the end door to put in, I’d become quite ragged with fatigue – nearly took me own bollox out.

Forced entries are either met with emphatic success or utter humiliation – there isn’t a great deal of middle ground in my experience.

Bloody hell, have you read any of this post at all? We’ve been over this, there is no indication anywhere that Scott is doing a remake. Scott has made it clear in the past that he does not like doing sequels. So where does that leave us? In the same place as Promethius, a film set in the same ‘universe’, connected to events but dot a direct continuation of those events. There, does that make things clear enough, or do I have to resort to single syllables?

    Thanks for that.

According to one of the producers Andre Kosove it is undecided whether the movie will be a prequel, sequel or spin-off of the original – what I’m saying is I don’t want them going anywhere near it. I’m not keen on it becoming a franchise.

Ineffable – struggling for words to describe what I feel about this. I’ll try – LEAVE IT A-F’ING-LONE FFS.

Bladerunner is my favorite film. It’s a highly stylized, hypnotic masterwork that deals with the whole range of human emotions – rich in detail, long in message. It doesn’t need a remake, new version or whatever – this news has pi55ed me off a tad.

    Have a better one.

Awesome characterisation by Nicholson. The bit where he makes up the baseball match to spite Nurse Ratched for not allowing the TV to be switched on was fantastic.

e-petitions, they don’t sound very good do they … really? Likely to serve only as an imposition on parliamentary time, which would be better spent debating matters that have some hope of hitting the statute books or influence government policy – which I don’t think includes the restitution of capital punishment.

That’s quite a departure from the rough and ready testosterone charged true blue Aussie we’ve seen in the past.

Yoss – agreed, but it didn’t need matey turning up acting the clown.

MC – No I don’t for the reasons I’ve given. Despite how we feel about the quality of the testimony on offer, it was still a process worthy of serious attention/application and beyond custard pies and the like.

One hopes that it sets the bench mark for the other sentences that may or may not follow – but like everyone else I think it a thin to vanishing prospect that anybody further will be sent down in relation to this imbroglio.

Pi55 taking aside, but he did try to demean the proceedings of a fairly serious matter – I think on balance he probably does deserve a quick stint up at the big house. Admittedly there are more deserving candidates out there for a custodial sentence but an inquiry into amongst other transgressions, the hacking of murder victims phones by the press, should not be the subject of high farce. It’s not the actual act of a pie in the moosh – it’s more about the context/setting in which the act took place.

My advice would be to take it to a station and let an officer look at it to confirm its a genuine, legitimate document (as has already been advised). If it is, comply with the terms of the NIP – this isn’t an admission of guilt. It’s been awhile since I’ve been on that side of policing but I can’t imagine for one moment that the police would have disclosed your name & address at this stage. I’d bow to easygirl’s knowledge on that one though.

Be aware that you can obtain the keeper details of a registered vehicle from DVLA if you can demonstrate ‘reasonable cause’ for needing the information. The DVLA consider the reasons why you need the information and how it will be used before the information is passed over.

    All the best.
