    MC,

I’ve stayed at the below for a long weekend a few years ago. There were three of us so we were put up in Room 8, which was is a large downstairs suite.

    Really nice but not cheap.

I’ve had a few beers, and when that happens I experience a certain clarity of mind.

Message to Ridley – PLEASE DON’T TOUCH BLADE RUNNER.

That’s very unpleasant – I noted puss was named Orville.

Orville: I wish I could fly way up to the sky but I cant,
    Keith: You can,
    Orville: I cant!

Good recommendations, I’m grateful – thanks.

The MM looks to be a great trail pump but I think it would be too big for the pump port on my Lobo pack (length wise – would fly out on rough terrain).

I’m therefore gonna plump for the Lezyne Micro Floor Drive.

    Cheers all.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the film TBH. It asks more questions than it answers.

Fantasy writer Joe Abercrombie’s analysis sums it up for me –

    I’m a proud Englishman.

Republicans and other riff-raff should be shipped off to an overseas territory, somewhere like Montserrat maybe. :D

    Long live the Queen.

That’s the thing for me, the higher the psi the better – horrendous pinch flat fest yesterday (not to mention riding over a nailed horse shoe but that’s another story).

Right, no our little encounter was near the start of the link. We’d just come in on the track (after the gate) that leads up from Burrington Combe Road and two riders came barreling around the corner, with one nearly ‘endoing’ as he grabbed his brakes in surprise – he was on a Yeti I think. It was laughed off and they headed off over the other side of The Coombe. No worries :-)

perhaps saying it may have been you would have been more productive method?

From my post I thought that was understood without being openly expressed? Obviously not.

BL – lets have it then, descriptions. Was one on a Spesh Stumpjumper wearing a brown top and his mate on a black Cove Hustler lagging behind blowing out his arse?

Did it happen near to the start of the LL, not far from the track that descends from the Beacon Batch trig point?

I’m not flaming – I’d like an answer to my question, given that I was up there today and had a near miss – thought I’d engage in some banter – thanks for your input though JY

What’s Strava got to do with it?

Your post history of 347 pages suggests a quick turnaround.

I’m looking forward to seeing it tomorrow but there’s some truth in this –

They need to put a lid on this oversaturation and viral marketing. I was excited to see Prometheus and now I can’t be arsed

Something about the tone and language of Buzz’s post and his subsequent silence tells me that it was not worth posting … or it was intended facetiously.

IA – have you thought of something west of Bristol … Nailsea, Clevedon, Portishead – easily commutable, more for your bang in terms of rent and a bit more peace than congested/populated parts of Bristol?

hugor – I kind of thought my second sentence would put the first into little doubt I was being serious :D It would take me 45 mins to get to Airstream!

I’m amazed people can do it on a SS, dabbing or not.

I’m at Cwmcarn tomorrow attempting the Strava KOM. Wave if you see me – I’ll be handcuffed, wearing a hair vest and riding a uni-cycle.

Not wishing to get all gushing but AC, Leigh Woods and 50 Acre are superb and we’re so lucky to have them in Bristol – I’m extremely grateful for their continued maintenance.

As members of STW it goes with out saying that negotiating some small rocks and graveled sections is not beyond our considerable riding abilities.

A little bit closer – Nailsea, North Somerset.

I’ve not had a bike sprayed their myself but I know people that have and they’ve been very pleased with the results – and price is meant to be good as well.

Tickets booked for Sunday night – much anticipated. Does look good mind. I’ve become a bit of a Fassbender fan, so I’m looking forward to see how he plays his role in comparison to Lance Henrickson’s ‘Bishop’.

No – Coyote Ugly I unfortunately watched to the bitter end, utter rubbish.

Thought The Grey was a really good film, even having not fully seen the ending – not that it changes things much :-)

You have to keep watching until after the credits to know what happens.

    WHAT!!!

I’ve still got it on loan from Blockbusters – I’m popping it back in the Bluray

And in case you think I’ve found a salt flat, here’s the same pic but from other angle

That’s obvious bollox. The shadows don’t add up (much like the lunar hoaxes), the sand granulation is different (based on the Krumbein phi scale) and there are footprints in the second picture.

    Essentials on this forum.

    1) Rhinoceros thick hide.

    2) Pitchfork.

    3) Photo of your bike with outrageously unattended lawn in the background.

    All the best.

I think how it’s been designed and marketed is an act of genius.

There’s a number of elements and principles to Strava that remind me of computer/console gaming, with the achievements/rewards, creating segments and leaderboards … the tech graphs etc. All this leads to a sense of progression.

It motivates people to better fitness – and that must be a good thing. The pro’s outweigh the cons IMHO.

EDIT – I would add that I kick ass on First Person Shooters but I’m mid-table obscurity when it comes to Strava.

Anyone said ‘Coyote Ugly’ ? – unconscionable sh*te. Just one long and hugely boring Martini advert.
