I said I’d post an update, so true to my word – here it is.

After swapping some of the components over to my new Hustler build I sent the frame off to ATB via Leisure Lakes with an accompanying letter explaining the circumstances of how it broke.

In very quick time LL got back to me stating that ATB had decided to replace my frame but as they had no E5’s left in stock I was to receive a new E120!

A big thanks to the people at LL/ATB and a ringing endorsement of ATB warranties from me.

In recent years I’ve formed a very jaundiced view of most politicians who prove themselves to be venal, self serving egotists on a regular basis and across the political spectrum. Look at Theresa May’s endorsement of Tom Winsor as preferred candidate for HMIC following his reports on police reform. Examine Winsor’s ‘independence’ on the matter.

None of them inspire me.

In law it could well amount to a Battery under s. 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 or even s. 47 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861.

Was it ‘reckless’ kicking the advertising hording (or whatever it was) with that level of force in such close proximity to the judge? What are the potential consequences of that act? Was the actual bodily harm a reasonably foreseeable result (whether or not it was or should have been foreseen by Nalbandian himself)? If so, that is sufficient to satisfy the mens rea for these crimes.

Then you have to decide if it’s in the public interest to prosecute.

GW – not wishing to answer for Stoner but I think he was referring to the bikes ability to change between the various geared options easily, as opposed to what the bike can cope with terrain wise.

His use of the word versatility seems pretty apt.

I look at the classifieds and the forums as a whole as a community thing. Maybe I’m a naive socialist loony, but I think selling at a lowish price on the classifieds to other riders is in the good spirit of community and more what STW is about than the endless march for maximum profit.

I wrote a quick fanboi email to Thomson a month ago stating my liking for their bike bits and inquired if they’d be expanding the range. I received a reply thanking me for my comments from their head of marketing (David Parrett) with information that they were working on dropper seat posts and cranks – how good is that!

Agreed – Far from perfect but in comparison to other nations I think you’d go some to find anywhere as tolerant, with as few social, economic, racial or religious inequities as the UK … not to mention our contributions throughout history in terms of parliamentary systems, the law, art, literature, science, engaging tyranny etc etc.

I can predict with some accuracy the usual doughnuts that rock up on anti-police threads with their unlettered, ill-informed posts. Probably the same types that are first on the blower when they need the law :D
