Notwithstanding the usual pre-fight panto, I think there’s genuine needle between these two – should be a humdinger.

I was up there today. It’s a bit of both to be honest – more on the side of gloopy though. Shitty enough to induce chain suck aaaarrrrrgh :evil:

I don’t mind the odd spelling/grammar error, but when you have to read a post twice, and slowly, to get any sense of what the poster is trying to get across it’s a bit much. Some people clearly don’t bother reading through what they’ve just typed before hitting the Send Post button.
I wouldn’t bother correcting other’s mistakes, but I can understand why it happens. It’s a bit like saying “Again, in English”, to one of your mates with a regional accent when they’ve just blurted out something unintelligible. It’s just a bit of banter, nothing more.

I do sympathise and I’m not under the misapprehension that her sleep pattern will remain so, but she really does go out like a light. Even through the hot weather we had and more recently the cracking thunder and lightening overhead, which roused me … and I go out like a log.

She’s a very alert baby during the day and quite active, although I’ve nothing to compare her with – being our first. She’s teething at the moment, but that’s not altered anything.

I’m going to make a tactical withdraw now in an effort to evade the infamous STW flames and pitch forks :D

Nasty things. When I was a scamp, my mate loaded one with stinking fish bait and shot me in the head after I broke his borrowed reel in a fit of rage!

I can hand on heart say that my six month old hasn’t lost me a minutes worth of sleep since being born. She goes down at 7pm and wakes up at 7am! Sorry, I know that’s not helpful – luck of the draw and all that.

I’m hoping she doesn’t make up for it later in life and cause me loads of grief :D

Some air weapons are deemed more dangerous than others and are subject to stricter controls. It depends on the kinetic energy of the ‘missile’ they discharge.

The lad that fired the air-rifle could feasibly commit a number of offences under different acts.

I think the best course of action would be to visit the West Yorkshire Police website and Email the local NPT, flagging the incident – requesting they pay passing attention to the area and stop and Q any youths in possession of such weapons, dispensing words of advice where necessary.

Anti-social behaviour is a policing priority for many forces, as set by their respective Chiefs & PCC’s and thus incidents of this nature are progressed with a little more application then may have been the case in the past.

One of my top five favourite reads. Hoarse laughter on one page then raised eyebrow revulsion on the next. Rarely have I been challenged like that in a book, before or since.

I remember going into a bookshop in 1998 (or thereabouts) in full uniform when I was a PC in the Met, asking if they could spare one of their ‘Filth’ promotional posters, which got me a few quizzical looks. I had it framed and it’s currently hung in my spare room.

I struggled with the idea of McAvoy pulling it off as Robertson when I heard he was the lead, so I’m pleased he’s put in a decent performance by the sounds of it. I’ll give it a go at the cinema next week.

Over the years I’ve had thoughts of both a positive and negative valence towards having children. I couldn’t imagine myself as a father for some reason.

Cutting a long and not overly interesting story short, I now have a 6-month-old daughter. She’s the best thing to ever happen to me.
