Because it is not intended to be stored in the boot.

The open end is not supposed to ever rest on anything solid.

I have the Samsung UE32D5000, which is the next model-ish up, and I am fairly sure it did not come with a cable. Not 100% though.

Just get a cheap and cheerful one from Amazon.

…or start a thread about buying an expensive HDMI cable and watch the forum explode.

Toby is a bit off there.

While the screens are essentially the same technology it is how they are lit which marks LCD and LED apart.

LCD will be backlit by fluorescent lamps, whereas LED TVs will be either have edge lit or full array LED backlighting. LED should have a more even lighting, this obviously gets better the more you spend, as well as allowing the TVs to be thinner and lighter, this is especially the case with edge lighted sets. Energy consumption on LED sets is also lower.

In summary though, get an LED TV as it is the newer technology.

I imagine making them black is an extra process. Extra processes cost extra pounds.

Personally, I use Serviio[/url] on my iMac (it’s multiplatform and free), and this serves up everything, vids/pics/music, to my Samsung TV downstairs. The Samsung can play most files natively, DTS audio being an issue, so I have transcoding turned off in Serviio, so none of the quality drop that Cougar has. I have my computer on most the day, so depending on whether you do or not, this may be an issue.

All this is done over WiFi using Virgin Superhub.

So in summary, get your server and, I assume it’s DLNA that is the streaming protocol, install a DLNA client on it, and that should be half the battle.

Likewise. Several winters now with nice and toasty, if a little sweaty, hands.

Be aware the quality will not be the best and for £40/50+ you can get a new head unit with aux/usb etc in.

A new vacuum cleaner is the obvious, but if you tell us the lady’s interests and sort of money you want to spend, then we can give a better suggestion……even though a vacuum cleaner is a really good gift.

I would do as GW suggests. Also get BF3, MW3 and Skyrim and forget exactly what you wanted iPlayer for in the first place 😉

….that or knock up a small media pc or hack an AppleTV.
