Lovely, can’t beat an A series with a tuned engine and straight cut ‘box.
Air filters or an air box would sort out the fuel going the wrong way?

I have no connection with the air sea rescue Sea King, but did some related work on the Royal Navy version back in the 80’s, but my first recollection of them was the Apollo capsule recovery at the end of the moon missions.
It’s done it’s time and surved with distinction in it’s various fields of operation, but particularly in the SAR role when it’s arrival can be salvation for those in need!

Honda’s are great, what about a Jazz, don’t the badge thing to worry about, they just get the job done.

I saw it last night and enjoyed it in a thoughtful way, made me think about war and it’s many victims on all sides.
I saw Fury last year, a Hollywoodised depiction of life in a tank crew, but again from the human angle, crew interaction as well as the blood and guts of battle.

I’ve had my ’11 plate Jazz 1.4 EX CVT for over 2 years and 25000 miles, it’s a great little car, does everything you can reasonably ask and very tardis like inside, more space than the current Civic hatch too.
Go for a 1.4 (1339cc) and avoid the iShift versions, 2008 – 2011, appeared when the new/current shape arrived, and disappeared with the face lift early 2011. There are a couple of good forums, clubjazz.org which is UK biased and fitfreaks which is US based, the Jazz is a known as a Fit in many markets other than Europe.
It’s comfortable, economical, reliable and practical, and my local Honda dealer is great.
Tyres make a great deal of difference to the noise, my winter tyres are noticeable, but aren’t intrusive, the summer set aren’t.
I do have other vehicles but this is my everyday car and does 90% of journeys.
Not the most dynamic of drives but very competent, the 1.4 Si has slightly lower and sportier suspension and a body kit, but no more umph.
Yes you need to rev the i-vtec to get it go quickly, but once on the boil it can surprise people, I had a wonderful cross country drive in the Cotswolds a little while back with the vtec on full song!
    Give one a try.

Continuing the Honda theme what about a Jazz, cheap to run Honda reliability and a very flexible interior with Tardis like space, more load carrying than a Civic.
2008 onwards (GE8) are better in most respects. Not the most involving car to drivebut competant.

Most major manufacterers have at least one sub brand that the older but still perfectly good tyre designs were sold under.
BITD India Tyres were older Dunlops, IIRC Courier were Firestone, there were others but the names escape me, even Esso had their own branded tyres, when their ‘service stations’ sold more motoring items than food items!

The blade is the most important part as that does the cutting. I was amazed at the difference a bimetalic blade made when cutting through some stainless steel.
I have orange blades in mine now.

You might want to think about changing banks then?
They were’nt known as (Sc)abby National for nothing you know.
When I had a mortgage with them many years ago they managed to loose some paperwork between their letterbox and reception desk and again later between the fax machine and reception desk, twice!
A local events group I have dealings with use Barclays who always seem very helpful at the local branch, but admitedly some items are done centrally, but only seem to take a few days to arrive.

A few years ago someone was selling an MTB that looked rather familiar, then I realised that the pictures were of my MTB from when I’d bought it a few years before!
I thought it might be a scammer, so I asked a few questions and deduced that the seller was genuine and the pictures were from the ‘library’, which are available if you don’t have your own?

+1 for a Nato, also Rhino and Zulu similar, wide range of colours and stripes too.
You could also try an independent jewellers as they may have a different range of straps form the high street chain shops?

Also look at the Honda Jazz, 2nd generation 2008 onwards much better than 1st one.
The ‘Magic’ seats means a versitile interior with loads a space in the back for bikes an whatever else you need to carry.

They are sensible on any car at this time of year, I’ve run them for the past 6 winters and wouldn’t be without them at this time of year.

+1 for Brooklands Mercedes World AMG experience, alternatively I think there’s a Jaguar on at TRL Crowthorne, near Bracknell.

The only one I can lay claim to have ridden is the aqueduct near Bradford on Avon but not on MTB, but I did have full suspension!

I occasionally ride over the Orwell
We were up there around bonfire night and were higher than some of the fireworks that the local scrotes were setting off, which looked quite impressive.

I’ve driven over it many times but never ridden it, I guess it’s quite challenging when it’s windy?

Go for a traffic/motorway car if anything or frenzic examiners car that dont get ragged everywhere. BITD a mate had an Escort panda car, but converted it into a rally car, still had the zip in the roof lining for the lights.

It’s one of our busiest times of the year, 18th – 22nd are ‘red days’, so our minimum manning goes up to 5 techs per shift, plus a Duty Engineer.
I finish work at 07.00 on Christmas morning!

All the finalists deserved to win, but there can only be one winner.
Lewis is the best in the world.
I hope he goes on to take another world title and equal Sir Jackie Stewarts tally of titles.

“More personality than the whingy driver can ever hope to possess”?

Sorry, but I don’t think so, Lewis did it when he’d already been ‘written off’ by so many, by grid, hard work, determination and knowing when and where to push and also to back off.
In the last race he was in a class of his own, world champion class, the best in the world.

It should be Lewis, F1 World Champion for the second time, he’s got to be in final 3 at the very least?

£25 in vouchers redemable in the companies on site stores, same as last year.
With my previous employer a chritmas hamper and or Tesco vouchers.
I don’t think they’ll be getting much this year as they’ve lost out on a huge resupply contract.

What, no McLaren M23 in either ‘Big’ single or twin side air scope configuation?
Shadow DN1 in Embassy or UOP livery.
Looking at the ones already posted, I wonder how much difference the colour and livery makes, if they were all the same colour, would we choose the same cars?

I’m no FA fan, but he’s a real racer and has been a F1 World Champion, I do wonder about his fit within McLaren and Jenson, but we’ll have to wait and see, we maybe pleasantly surprised.

How about a Honda Jazz, it’s a Honda, not infalable but Honda reliable and a reasonable bike hauler too.

I’ve had 5 sick days off in a year and have triggered this procedure.
I’m off to Occupational Health later this month after seeing my GP and department manager and acting duty engineer, they just want to find out if it’s a recurring issue and or work related etc.
The irony of this is that we had someone in our team ‘off sick’ for over a year, he didn’t get this far as he didn’t actually return to work, ever! In his case it was all self inficted with the aid of a needle…………
Needless to say he’s no longer employed here.

MBR gave it a solid 10 in the 650B hardtail test last month, just ahead of the Orange Clockwork 120S.

You could try Watch Doctors, Tring in Hertfordshire. I’ve not tried them for Kinetic repairs or servicing, but they’ve done mechanical repairs etc. on my watches.

Some years ago I worked for a company that ran SAP and was ‘trained’ along with the rest of our team as part of our ‘integration’ into the European operation, shortly before I left.
It is/was supposed to be one of the better CRM packages.
We had two sayings for what SAP stood for ‘Sod all progress’ or ‘Select and Pray’.

I have some of these bad boys for my 26″ rough weather commuter:
    http://www.schwalbe.com/en/spike-reader/marathon-winter.html
They are pretty unstoppable. But they do weigh a ton.

I bought a pair for last winter when we didn’t have any snow worth speaking of so they didn’t get used.

Spikes are for ice. Anything with knobbles works for snow. Generally, the bigger the better.
Edit: that said, it depends a lot on the type of snow.

Oh no, not the wrong type snow again!

F1 will be all the poorer for the loss of the smaller lower end teams, the old saying seems to be true in Burnies case, he knows “the cost of everything and the value of nothing”.
If he can’t see the value in having them, then he doesn’t deserve to continue as the head of it.

For me it’s just good old fashioned TV, entertaining, informative and educating.
Personally I’d like to see a bit more of the engineering behind each build, but that me and might bore others and put them off.
Guy’s a real bloke, up for a challenge and doing stuff we’d love to do but can’t or won’t.
