Several pairs of ‘bar grips and a pair of work gloves that were in the garage.
We never had this problem when we had a cat!

That’s good to know, but I wonder how long that’ll last?

Yes all it’s very sad as the coverage will again be blighted by adverts at the wrong moment!
I will still be watching it on C4, but wonder who presenters will be, bring back Gary Anderson’s technical input, I really miss that.
If the BBC hadn’t waisted a whole load of money moving from TV Centre to Manchester, which has cost far more than they initially said it would and haven’t saved any money and lost quite a few popular presenters into the bargin.

I found that the Floaters have reached their limits locally on the horse torn trails. Nates here I come.

My OOF has Floaters, but I have a pair of Nates to go on at some point:-)

I for one am not volunteering on Christmas Day, even though I’m not working for a change, and it looks like my 88 year old mother will be spending it in hospital, where she’s been for almost 4 weeks so far.
My brother, who’s is coming over to visit, and I will be spending it making sure she has a good family Christmas this year.
I take my hat off to anyone who gives up their time to do something for others, no matter what time of year it is.
If everyone one did something it’s be a better world to live in:-)

I haven’t been to one in years, 8 years to be percise and that was under sufferance.
We don’t have a company one, each department does it’s own thing, as there’s always 1/4 of the team are on shift at anyone time each shift arranges it’s own.
Can’t stand them TBH, can’t stand drunks for a start, so ours will be on a work night so it’ll be soft drink all round.
Who knows, I might even go to this one!

Fact: in the 1970s at the height of their nastiness BL had a standard door, aound which they designed all their cars; Maestro, Montego, Princess, Allegro. Advanced thinking, eh?

It started before that, in the 1960’s the Autin/Morris 1800, Austin 3 Litre and Austin Maxi all shared the same passenger doors.
I was at a talk by a person who worked in the BL design and styling department, who said that doors are a very expensive item to design and manufacture, hence the multi model use.
Look at the Morris Marina Coupe, it had the same front door as the 4 door, estate and pick up/van versions.

From the M40 at High Wycombe, then do A404M and then you can do XC to miss out the horror of Bracknell too.

    A330/A3095.

I agree with that, I used to have to commute from the Amersham side of ‘Wycombe to Bracknell on many occasions for several years, my then employers offices were in Bracknell, using the A330/A3095 from Maidenhead Holyport roundabout.

Used to be my regular lunch stop in Oxford, but had gone a little downhill when I last went (Admittedly about three years ago!)

Not a direct result of yoir visits I trust?
I think the last one I went to was in Windsor.

I used to go to Brown’s some years ago, not been recently though.
IIRC you needed to book ahead on popular nights eg. Friday, Saturday, Sunday etc.

“Made in Japan, doncha know. With the crap exchange rates they are too expensive for the UK market.
Your friendly Honda dealer will happily steer you tomwards a UK made CRV, all the way from Swindon”

I don’t think they will be made there for too much longer as Swindon is going to be the world centre for Civic manufacture, the Jazz has already stopped being made there.

That’s really bad news, any identifying marks or customisation etc?

Good on all of you that have managed to do it, it’s very encouraging.
I’ve just had a ‘wake up’ call at a health screening at work this week, so I need to make some life style changes and loosing some weight is one of them.
I’m off to see the Doctor on Friday about it as there are some medical issues, but I know a lot of what I need to do.

Mine is”loving you” by Minnie Riperton. I only have to hear that chorus and it will destroy my waking hours for a week. I’ve been caught numerous time trying to hit the high notes.

When I hear that song, I can’t help but think of the Baron Knights version, with the guy in the background introducing each bird song in turn, listen to it and it’ll ruin the original for you perminently!

I live in the south, just outside the M25, but on the edge of the Chilterns and have to drive up and down some fairly serious hills on my daily commute and at the colder times of day/night due to working shifts.
I’ve been a cold weather (not winter or snow) tyre user for past 8 winters, and I wouldn’t be without them, being able to stop and restart on slopes is invaluable.
Had them on four different cars, all 3 FWD and the other RWD and work well in cold and wet conditions as well as snow etc.

Another vote for the Jazz, had my 2011 1.4 EX CVT for almost 3 years now, I loomed at the C3 Picasso at the time, it’s physically bigger with a bit more room inside, but doesn’t have the seat flexibility of the Jazz.
Didn’t test drive one as the Jazz ticked the boxes and Honda wins hands down on reliability, quality and we have a very good local dealership.
The Citroen dealer was good, but misrepresented the car I was intetested in.

I have fitted PR3’s to my NC700X, after almost 10,000 miles on Metzeler Intertecs and everything they say about them is true, solid, safe and secure.

    “So who’s seen them live?”

Me, here @ Wembley Arena and in the States a few years ago.
Also saw Anderson Bruford, Wakeman and Howe at Birmingham.
Very memorable, great live performers who know how to entertain.

We had some at work, what an utter load of carp, we had so many issues, engine, transmission, drive train………….
We now have Toyota pick ups, the lease company won’t supply L200’s any more?

The tyre caucus will be stronger and therefore stiffer so could give a slightly harder/harsher ride, also the compound maybe harder than a lower rating.

“There’s a great cafe at The Gateway Centre and you can do some shopping in Cotswold camping next door”

+1 for the Cafe in the Gateway Centre, been there a couple of times, sit outside by the water if the weather’s nice :-).

    Mitsubishi obviously

Not really a very fair comparison as the Toyota is much larger, heavier and has a longer rear overhang.

How about Birmingham International?, just off the M42, J6 with A45, change at Oxford for BHI, nice and easy.

I watched it yesterday, it’s different and interesting, it’s the first season, I like the idea of city centre racing and being electric the eco crowd can’t really argue against it.
Admittedly the track wasn’t the best that London could have offered, I think Hyde Park would be a lot better and using Park Lane both ways a real plus.
In comparison to the TT Zero, they are only just going down Bray Hill, look how much faster the TT Zero bikes are now, their next step must be a second lap?

Regulating a watch can be very frustrating, but when it goes well very rewarding. I have a few that need doing including a couple of modded Seikos.
Nice watch, what’s the lume like?

The Honda Jazz has more internal space than the Civic and without the rear view issue, it isn’t a diesel, but a 1.4 petrol should give you 50mpg+ on that type of run.

    +1 for the NC700.
I’ve had mine close on two years and now done just under 8000 miles, the rear tyre is going to need replacing in the next 2000 miles or so.
Still on the original chain and sprokets, not the best quality granted, but when I change them it will be for something a bit better.
I use it mainly for commuting, as it gives me a more reliable journey time, and I can park much nearer to where I work.
It’s great in traffic, especially with the DCT, it has a good upright riding position for a good view ahead.
I do go other places on it, both locally and further afield.
My average so far isn’t very different from PP’s, about 84mpg, my last fill up was after 250 miles, it took 13.3 litres to fill, costing £15.28.
So yes, it’s a ‘tool bike’, doesn’t tug at your heart strings like some do, but I’d miss mine and I would buy another NC tomorrow.
Just on thing, it doesn’t have half a car engine, that was tried early on and didn’t work very well, so they designed a new engine for the NC range along similar lines to the Jazz/Fit 1339cc LA13, there maybe one or two components that they have in common as well as the capacity.

Does Mrs OAB’s contract state she has to have a car?, if not then I think they’re on very dodgy ground all round, could she cycle to work on a few occasions just to make the point.
I had a heated discussion with a previous employer about carrying work items and needing then business insurance.
I used my motorcycle for a few days and got the point home that how we travel to and from work is our own choice, another colleague who lived close by cycled in!
I hope you manage to get this resolved.

“NC700s are fine if you don’t have an adrenal gland.”
    I have both of those!
I use my NC700X for commuting at which it’s great, economical, practical and versatile.
I also have a Triumph 900 Scrambler which has a much harder edge to it.

    Very sad news.
I know that there’s a biker down course aimed at motorcyclists, is there anything similar for cyclists?
It wouldn’t be that difficult to adapt it with a few changes, the accident management and first aid would be very applicable.
    RIP Ben.

I love the old A series lump, it brings back so many memories, I fired up my 1330 and let it run till for a while, partly just to hear it’s lovely beat. My neighbour appreciated it to and we had a chat whislt it ticked over in that Typical A series way!
