I’ve got it now, started about five weeks ago, first time ever.
I saw the doctor after five nights sleeping no more than twenty or thirty minutes a night due to pain etc. Got some anti inflammatory/pain killers and muscle relaxers for the night, but they weren’t?making any difference, so didn’t bother after a couple of true.
I’ve been referred for physio as I’ve lost significant strength in my left leg.
So I’m sleeping better now and not in pain, but still have issues from it, still taking the anti inflammatories etc.
I didn’t have anytime off work, due to the way the sickness policy works, I would have been under review and didn’t want to go through that.
But I probably should have taken some time off, nearly falling asleep at various times during the day wasn’t good!

A very exciting time in Rallying, saw them on the RAC a couple of times.
My favourite was the British underdog MG Metro 6R4, there are two at the Gaydon motor museum, the Williams Grand Prix Engineering prototype would make a great street sleeper it look so much like a ordinary MG Metro.
After Group B ended, some of the unsold Clubman spec 6R4’s were converted to road cars, trim and sound deadening etc added, a friend of mine encountered one, managed to keep it in sight until the road got a bit wiggley, it then disappeared very quickly indeed.

They are marketing tools in the main, although a lot of car companies started off by making bicycles.
Back in the ’90’s Land Rover offered versions of the Moulton APB (LR) and a Pashley Tube Rider (XCB) both with 21 speed (3X7) transmission and the latter with Sachs disc brakes and USE suspension forks and a suspension seat post.
Since then they have offered some decent spec bikes, but a lot of dross too!

You can’t beat having good neighbours, we have them both sides and close by too.
We had one that was a bit of a pain for a few years, but he moved just under three years ago and the newest ones are fantastic.
I’ve helped them out with clearing blocked drains, sorting locks and getting a new car tyre fitted.
They’ve run me to the station and garage on several occasions, given us some lovely home made cake and have a relaxed attitude to the shared drive.
The other side is fine, the couple that lived there sadly separated last summer and the husband is now there on his own, not sure how long he will stay though.
What I like is that I know if the poo hits the fan I can call on them for help and vice versa.

I never had one, but lots of mates had Fast Fords, nicest was a Signal Orange Mk2 Mexico, quite rare even then, the RS2000 was more sort over.

DW-5600/5610 is a great watch for knocking about in.
I wear one for work and don’t have to worry about it.

Beaconsfield Services, just off the M40 (J2) has a large pond/small lake with a path around it and a children’s playground too. My wheelchair bound Mother quite likes being pushed round there on the all weather path, which makes it useable in the current weather conditions.

I have a Stanley Mountain Series flask that fits in a bottle cage, had it for a few years, one handed operation and has a grit guard, works well and keeps a drink hot for some hours.
I think the Switchback has replaced it?

300 hours, working shifts some 12 hour, some 8, hence the hours rather than days, it can work well as you can take 44 hours and have 12 days off!
The company I work for previously it could be even better if you planned it correctly you could take 36 hours off to get 12 days off, by accumulating the excess hours over 40 worked each 7 day period.

Well it was a busy as normal for a Monday morning on the M25 and M4 coming to work this morning, then it started to rain!

Warlands on the Botley Road, more commuter, hybrid and touring focused, what you might call a more traditional bike shop?

The Trident is the classic diver/sports watch if that’s what you’re after?
But there are lots of other styles to choose from.

Unfortunately our print media seems to be on a downward slide, has been for sometime, not sure where it will end up?
The lower end of the has very little proper journalistic content, full up with social media comment about so called celebrities!
I like the I newspaper, it’s concise and fairly well written and I’m glad it survived when the Indipendent closed.

“Apart from the rather clever space created when the rear seats are folded, be under no illusion, the Jazz is rubbish from a driving point of view”

It really depends what you’re comparing it with and what your expectations are?

Over heard at a wedding reception, a distant lady relative of the bride, “and his parents bought them a lovely new cooker, it’s even got a rotary spitoon’!

A discussion on the death penalty, ‘well I don’t care what you say, there’s got to be so sort of detergent’.

Nobeer the Jazz gets a lot of stick but its a great little car and superb bike carrier with seats folded flat”.

Yes, it’s a very practical car, my elderly Mothers wheelchair pops behind the front seat curtousy of the ‘magic seats’, getting bikes in is very easy too. It’s not exciting or a stunning drivers car, just a good ordinary everyday car, and has the advantage of being a Honda!

I have been to both this year, but can’t remember what the ticket cost, I think I had a discount code for it though.
I would say that London was probably a bit bigger, it’s a bit difficult to be precise as the floor layouts are quite different.
I agree that the London Show is better value with the Outdoor and Scuba Shows included, the first year the London Boat Show was on at the same time too.
I’m not sure how the parking compares as I haven’t parked a car at the Excel for some years, I’ve either gone by train or this year motorcycle.

I went today and really enjoyed it, along with not being charged for parking, I took the motorcycle and parked within a few minutes walk of the halls.
The stage interview with Chris Boardman was informative and entertaining to say the least, once he’d found where the stage was!
Some BIG names missing this year though, do they not want to show case their bikes, or think that the London Cycle Show is a better window?
Glad I went and took the time off work, it’ll be a zoo tomorrow and Sunday?

I just don’t get Mrs Browns Boys either, but then I’m an old git!

Depending what critirea you want to use, but years ago, it was said that once the unemployment rate is down into lower single figures you were looking at the ‘unemployable’ rather than the ‘unemployed’.

Dont go too big with your first bike, you will stall it at some point and its a dead weight to deal with. Learn your road skills on something you can handle easily.
And its more fun riding a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow!
Have fun and enjoy commuting for a change!

Most batteries I can be myself, but those I can’t I go to an independent specialist that will change the battery, replace the seal and test for watertightness.

I didn’t manage to see all of it, but I will watch it again as it needs time to settle in.
Remember when the New Top Gear first came back the had Jason Dawe with Clarkson and Hammond, he was replaced by James Maywho was the ‘school boy voice of reason’ of the trio.
I think he’s the hardest one of the three to replace?
And as others have said, why oh why does Chris Evans have to shout?

It will only end, if there aren’t enough riders that want to undertake the challenge and/or there aren’t enough spectators anymore?
I can’t see either of those happening anytime soon, thankfully!
It’s THE major event on the Island and brings in thousands of people and millions of pounds each year, and being a ‘British Protectorate’ they can more or less do what they want to?
The safety aspect has certainly increased over the years, from what I’ve seen over the years since I first went 38 years ago until now.
The one thing you can’t change significantly are the roads, they are arguablely amongst the best maintained in the world, but the stone wall, earth banks and trees etc.
I want to go back again in two years time if I can :D

I think that ‘stock liquidation sale’ is a better term, they have current stock sitting on the shelf which they have paid for and want to recoup that money to pay for the next in coming shipment?

I got a bike in the back of my 2006 MINI with at least the front wheel out, but admittedly it’s not the most commodious of cars, I once took the back seats out when collecting a set of 4 off road tyres for my Land Rover and they fitted nicely, much to the amazment of the guy I got them from.
Have to say than my Honda Jazz is much better as a bike hauler, but not as nice to drive!

I’ve two pairs of Daytona’s, one short pair, Journeys XCT’s very comfy and waterproof, I wear them for riding to work and around the office etc, when I don’t need my safety boots.
The others are Highway GTX’s also comfortable and waterproof, but taller and so not so good for wearing all the time under normal trousers.

Lots, not being very too from Pinewood and the London film and TV sudios, but now mainly Midsomer Murders are shot (!) around here, in fact they (Bentley Productions) are shooting at the moment, I saw a location arrow on the way to work the other day.
Forgot that the National Film & TV School are just down the road from my secondary school, it was a studion before that.
